Unique Strengths And Weaknesses

Hello, new applicants and people alike! Today I'll be making this guide on how to shape your character uniquely. To start it off quickly, here are several points you need to keep in mind:

All Characters are composed of unique traits, abilities, weaknesses, and strengths.

This is what makes characters unique. This is what makes characters.. characters! All of us, every single person on planet earth has their own combinations of what they can, and cannot do. What they are good at, and what they are not good at. Their own quirks that make them unique. One may say you cannot have fun playing a lowly peasant. Of course you can!

Even the lowly farmer than camps out farming has a combination of skills and traits that makes him separate from others. They may always be similar to someone, but never the same. Keep this in mind in your application process. Here are some examples.

Bob the Farmer once grew up in a wealthy household, but the unexpected death of his father sent the whole family plummeting in debt and poverty, casting Bob into the streets, as their wealth collapsed without the strong mind of the father. Now he spends his days farming, wishing his everlasting lifestyle back.

 Comparing this to...

Bill the Farmer grew in poverty, swamped by debt to the Kingdom from his mother and father. Often times, in drunken fights, Bill would slip through the narrow, broken gate they called a door, and retreated to the wheat fields. The sight intoxicated him with happiness, and sort of a reality he could escape to. All grown up, he comfortably dwells as a farmer, loving every day of it.

Both are farmers, however these things end there. From a first glance, they are the same. They are both farmers, and are both poor. However, they have different visions for their life, different back stories, different things that make them... /them/. I believe RP is a place where you could imagine the impossible, have a great time. Creating a cliche character and having no fun is no good at all! Here are further tips.

Physical Strengths/Weaknesses.

Brainstorming time. Think of something. Does your character walk with a limp? Is he/she missing an eye from that nasty, terrible brawl some weeks back at a drunken tavern? Or are they strong, leaping from tree to tree in easy succession. Or are they strong with their upper muscles, plowing through manual labor as if butter?

Mental Strengths/Weaknesses.

This is a critical time in your character creation process. This literally shapes how your character acts entirely, so be creative! Does your character suffer from a mental illness, or an irrational fear developed out of something that could come from a horror story? Or are they people smart, chatting up conversations that would pose problems for other people? Are they book smart, absorbing information that lowly peasants could only dream of doing?

Concluding this guide, the world is yours to make. Craft your character, and have a great time while doing so. Tata!~

I'm good at things? This is news. I should go celebrate.

In seriousness, good guide. Especially for newer players (or sometimes older ones) who tend to make characters with no flaws.
