  1. King Sven's death in the wake of the 16th War Of Retribution Against Orenians was a great tragedy in the eyes of Edric and all his folk. "At least we recovered his body from that cave in." He mentions to Rune. His son loomed in the corner of the room, cleaning Edric's armour of the dust, grime, and blood - sourced from both man and monster - that it had accumulated in the expedition to the darkness beneath the temple. Edric holds his hands out to the flames of his hearth, savouring the warmth upon his calloused palms. "We will recall him with fondness. Sven the Dutiful."

    ST Nodes

Why not make cooldowns random? Then the person that mined it doesnt know exactly when its available and it gives a better chance to players that randomly encounter the node/check on it regularly
  3. Sat within the Vildr Manor within Varhelm, the news finds Edric as he sits before the roaring flames that serve to warm his hall. His son Rune sits with him, tending to the flames as the old warrior tosses treats to the hound curled about his feet. Edric sighs, as Rune finishes recounting the events. "If only I were with him, it might not have happened." He muses aloud, his son only shrugging in response. "Yet another Ruric, gone to the grave. A right shame." He notes. "But a new King means a new era for the realm, and my services will be needed." He rises, upsetting the hound from it's dozing upon the warm stone. "Fetch my armor, lad. And tell Eydis it is time she was wedded."
  4. 5. Edric reads the news, beaming at the mention of his recent deed. He takes a copy of the recently revived Northwind post home, to frame upon his bedroom wall
  6. If people are saying the ruling isnt valid because its an old ruling, im not sure thats a good precedent to set. Regardless, this is a post asking for a new ruling to be established and enforced. If its the same ruling, a different ruling...
  7. *Aeldin is no longer accessible. *No one has been capable of traveling to or from Aeldin since crossing into Thales. *No one has, or can, visit Aeldin since 3.75 (Thales) and this most certainly includes the entirety of 4.0. 2.) There is no ability to travel to or from Aeldin any longer, under any means or circumstance. The ruling on Aeldin says this. No one should be playing a noble from there, it breaks the redline of the verdict as well as the general verdicts of the ST regarding it. Without following these points, Aeldin would have never been allowed to exist in server at all to begin with. We are suggesting these rules regarding Aeldin are enforced.
  8. Our lore has us flipping between two sides of a coin, Eos and Aos. Which side is Aeldin on? If people want to make random nobles they should be encouraged to make them based on current locale, not a made up continent elsewhere
  9. Edric laughs with joy as he polishes the Witchslayer hammer. "A joyous day! A day to bring death to these wildmen!"
  10. Just a reminder that if youre blaming Norland for this situation, youre letting staff get away with laziness and incompetence and creating a worse RP environment for everyone.

  11. "Really, the word pagan is too good for the MRA and their Imperial handlers." Muses Edric, admiring the work of the Rangers and other defenders of Norland.
  12. "Better a 'pagan' than a child killer." Remarks Edric.
  13. "The Ruric lineage is well documented. Neither Theoderic or his father exist within it." "So who is the true pretender? The man who makes baseless claims, or the man whose claim is well recorded?" Edric muses this, as he pisses off the wall of Elysium.
  14. Edric observes the perfectly intact walls of Leumont, the flames now extinguished. "It seems they can't even burn a wall properly."
  15. Turning to find the priest somehow on the wall with him, Edric retorts, "Mercenaries are not Norlanders. Give us names and evidence and they will be punished for any crimes they committed - more than can be said for Orenian counterparts."
  16. Edric jumps in surprise as he hears the disembodied voice, cringing as he hears it spout insults and nonsense. "Shut up ghost." He growls, reaching for his aurum knife and looking about for the source. Finding nothing, he decides to correct the misunderstandings of the voice regardless. "Divine right means that a King is ordained by a god to have a 'god given' right to the throne. It means that the King does not answer to any mortal authority, including their people or family, and is ultimately beyond reproach. Obviously, because the Kings of Norland are elected by their family - yes, the Rurics - and rule because they were chosen by vote based on character, not because of divinity, they do not match the definition of Divine Right. Of course, thats an aside to the fact that the King does in fact answer to the rest of his clan - who can call for abdication, for example - he also answers to his people and to the chieftains of the Norlandic Clans, and the High Keeper - as you say yourself." He clears his throat, looks about again to see if the magical voice has taken form yet. "Right of virtue is a term that means they rule because they are virtuous. The King is chosen by the moot based on their virtues - if they match the virtues demanded by the All Father, then they are voted for. Im sorry you dont understand what words mean, voice." When a courier runs up and hands him a packet of documents, Edric raises an eyebrow in surprise. How did they know what he had said, to send him a letter such as this? He opens and reads, and then continues speaking to the disembodied voice. "Of course, the war was not started to convert Oren, and is not continued to convert them either - though I am glad you prove that honour is meaningless to you, by saying our war is meaningless. As you say, the three tenets are inherent to our Kingdom, so while the war was not started for religious reasons, the actions of Oren during the war prove that the war must be continued and must be won, in order to prevent them from further aiding the Long Dark. I actually didn't suggest anywhere that we force the Imps to convert, only that it is our duty to deal with those that aid the Long Dark by butchering innocents - nothing to do with the Church. But that aside, can you explain what 'Convertian' means? Oh, you mean conversion. So much for you being a scholar, I guess." He shrugs, and discards the documents onto a lit brazier. "I find it amusing that a pretender accuses me of being a peasant. I am, in fact, a soldier and the chieftain of a clan. My dear scholar, do you even know what the word peasant means? Your claims that the King is not a Ruric are meaningless, for we have records to prove otherwise." Edric chuckles, watching the paper burn. "And to top it all of, you use made up words like 'pen'. I never have touched, or will touch, whatever a 'pen' is. If you mean a writing instrument, I can only assume you meant to say quill - in any case, my thoughts and statements are just that, thoughts and statements. Not currently written down, so I yet remain ignorant of how you came to know of them, being absent as you are." Edric shakes his head, and turns away from the disembodied voice, casting his eyes out to the countryside to watch for Orenians. After a moment, he turns back to the voice, mockingly proclaiming; "Oh yes. Signed, Edric Vildr. Uh, don't touch a quill ever again."
  17. "What the **** does Nordish mean?" Edric wonders aloud, knowing only Orenians call Norlanders by the slur Nords. "Better yet, why does this person keep talking about divine right? We of the North have no such concept...it can only be he is some kind of actor from Oren, entirely confused over where he has ended up." As he walks through Elysium, he pokes his head in to the tavern to check on it's inhabitants. "Our Kings rule by right of virtue. They are held responsible by myself and the other clan leaders, by the High Keeper, and by the Rurics that elect them - not by the All Father." He rants to a Ranger sat near the door, who looks at him confused. Then Edric continues toward the unbreached palisade of Elysium. He shakes his head, and rereads the notice. "Wasn't he supposed to be a scholar? Surely he understands that as adherents of the Red Faith, it is our duty to destroy those that aid the Long Dark - the actions of Oren speak for themselves on that matter. No enemy of the Dark would send soldiers to slaughter women and children." "And to top it all off, the lunatic fabricates his own lineage and claims the King's is false! Yet we have records to prove his claims as daydreams." Edric, angry now, turns to the Northguard men on the walls of Elysium with him. "Hopefully the King issues a warrant for this fool's arrest soon."
  18. Edric was in fact speaking to his children, who are ardent listeners to his words.
  19. "What kind of nonsense is this?" Wonders Edric. He holds a hand up to the cold north wind. "Here, I feel air." He frowns. "Here, see sadness." "These things do not demand or expect belief or worship. It is complete foolishness to compare them to a god."
  20. Edric rolls his eyes a number of times as he reads the notice. "Yet another victim to Orenian propaganda." He takes the time to dispose of any of the notices he comes across, ensuring that the cowardly attitudes displayed within the writing can not spread to the Norlandic populace. "This war was started because of the actions of Oren, and it continues because of their actions. While I am no lover of the Kneeling Church, at least their priests have had, for the most part, the good sense to condemn the actions of the Kingdom they call 'Holy' - we praise them for that." "When the price is paid for the blood of Elysium, this war will end. No sooner." He reminds his children.
  21. it aint norland with the history of pae-...
  22. "If only the Orenians could understand that Elysium is part of Norland. Their past transgressions will not go forgotten, and will never be forgiven, by any citizen of our land." Edric muses.
  23. Valid. I suppose i should say "i think if we are going to add more races we should address the many races that are no longer being played/not in use and shelf/update them to reflect any new needs in the community before we create new races which are really just variations on already existing races. Like why do we need 3 vampire races
  24. I dont feel like we need more races
