  2. Conflict intertwines with every single type of roleplay and encounter and narrative that’s possible. It’s genuinely just how all narratives go, the tradition start → ‘problem’ → resolution format to stories. People are being smooth brain here trying to say that ‘Slice of Life’ RP and that Conflict RP are the antithesis of one another. Even Slice of Life has aspects of conflict, perhaps that cheese you’re crafting doesn’t work perfectly so you have to do a new batch, or a competitive tournament of whatever halfling fishing thing that may happen. People need to address that conflict is essential to roleplay, but not all conflict is a black and white distinction of pacifism and violence. Instead, conflict roleplay is the base line for the way characters immerse and intertwine with others, with events that may happen during the day or to bloodied battles. Any single hardship a character faces is some sort of conflict, the most basic fundamentals of character progression and narratives rely on some sort of conflict, whether that be personal or external. The main issues of players when approaching this, is the aspect of no ‘positive’ return for the time they spend. Whether losing a personal experience, a fight, inner conflict etc. People do not believe things are worth their time if they have the potential to lose, the foundation of this guide is really just setting up the foundations of Dynamicism and being ‘able’ to play a character that grows with the character. People get upset from many things, an indiscriminate chain of OOC that comes from either losing, (getting cuckolded lol) or a variety of things that may be negative to the character. What people must do is to learn to embrace and look at these situations as the characters instead of the OOC mentalities behind it. The guide touched upon the barebones of the issues of conflict but also really shows the massive disconnect between the server in regards to what is “acceptable” roleplay and what isn’t. For those that compete in exclusive high stakes ‘conflict’, do not ostracise those that do more benign interactions, as does those of the lower stakes slice of life roleplayers do not bash and slam that one format is better than the other. Remember that every single facet of roleplay is appreciated on this server (except cybering because it’s literally just sexting and please dont cyber I beg you), the players just need to learn how to be able to include the large varieties of roleplay styles to create a fully rounded character. The server is so divided and so are the playerbases because of various issues like this.
  3. The only threat to me is the Planet Minecraft negative reviews from the Doctor of Fate himself. The eternal crusade against the evil Lord of the Craft server that has plagued the existence since the server trolled you to death and gave you -2000 reputation in a day when -1’s glitched.
  4. how do you **** up that bad you end up in an illegal build world and steal from it on three seperate occasions. It's either gross corruption or gross incompetence, both which need to be punished. I thought the fart fairies were enough, but this takes the cake in genuinely one of the most stupid things I've seen a staff member do.
  5. The cold, frigid winds of Arcas belt against the sails of the small fleet, the grey material tattered and covered in various swathes of blackened script along its edges. Commotion continues on the deck of the ship as various figures move around strange boxes and bundles of materials that jut from nearby crevices. The scent of berries, lavender and smoke lingers upon each of the sailors, their red stained tunics intertwining with the disheveled pants and masks that drape over their mouths. Another bark in a foreign tongue follows as the coastlines of the frozen expanse are seen by them, a sharp turn to the right following as they move along the coasts. A singular figure sits within the crows nest, his face completely obscured by a metal mask that dons on his features. The twisted, gnarled visage of the mask showing the distorted carvings and engravings of a lion, where its eyes were embedded with a strange clear crystal. A small flicker was seen within the gems as the ships veered heavily to the right into the port. The sails lowering as the desert dwellers make their way onto the lands of Arcas, supplies unloaded and now ready to grace their presence to the continent. Rumors now flooded about these new traders and travelers, entities from the Abyss, those of the ancient Caliphates perhaps? Though one phrase was repeated throughout those that heard about this group. The Brotherhood of Brev
  6. Just as a reference for what has actually changed, I’ll show you two screenshots comparing the High Elf and Snow Elf specifications. The weight categories fluctuate, but the heights remain basically the exact same and there’s simply the loss of ‘silver eyes’ within the appearance. The Snow Elven Origin /was/ a canon one, but done in the way you said. The actual loss of this and having it RP’d as it was prior changes absolutely nothing to the approach of how Snow Elves roleplay their origins and culture. Since a majority of them barely acknowledged the main issue I was cleaning up lore wise, which was around Wyvurn and Word Altar implementation. There’s a bunch of other reasons which have been stated above, but that is one of the many that were taken into consideration. Snelves as a race existed prior to the origins, with buff sniping players from the helves six months before getting stomped by the next coalition that saw them rise and fall. The whole thing is that the appearance stuff is very arbitrary, but part of the conditions of us reverting the race back to High Elven Blood. In reality, the appearance change does /absolutely/ nothing to characters and people can continue to roleplay them as they were prior. It’s not just a ‘must purge’ thing, it’s us having to clean up the messes of various lore administrations accepting lore that should’ve never been done. Racial Nation status was lost this map, the snelves are able to still roleplay their culture, military and religion however they wish. They are simply now not protected by OOC barriers of being a race. Snow Elves have been an outlier of subraces and are hard to compare to Highlander/Heartlander, since those two are cultures with a few distinctions that are broken down into various different sub-types and cultures within. Heartlanders and Highlanders aren’t really a “sub-race”, but they are a relic of the Aegis/Asulon “three sub-types” that were enforced to all descendant races. They were Dwarf → Mountain, Cave, Forest Elf → High, Wood, Dark Human → Highlander, Heartlander, Farfolk Orc → Uruk, Olog, Goblin Out of these, they were all subsects of the various children, though the snow elves are more akin to the Kharajyr or Hou-Zi in terms of their actual origins and not a sub-race of Malin’s Children at all. They were aengudaemonic mutants taken from High Elves that somehow became super cold resistant and muscular through the plethora of word altars and barely canonised aengudaemon that was the obsession of the time (Wyvurn). The main change that people will realise is that simply, snelves lose their ‘subrace’ persona card tag. Everything else remains the same, the appearance tag was placed on that to just ensure that people knew they were reverted to high elf blood, but otherwise I believe basically all snow elves fall under what a high elf can look like, if anything they get more options and variations for their character while being grouped up with them. Snow Elves still exist as a culture and a playerbase, snow elves still exist within IRP, people can RP them as a race or a distinct culture, as they have done for the various years even prior to the acceptance of them as a ‘subrace’. Nothing actually changes, instead its a backdoor cleaning of lore and trimming things that should’ve never been accepted. Once again – Nothing Changes
  7. farfolk arent just brown, they’re any human based culture that comes from a far away place xd (irl culture rip offs)
  8. Today I’m announcing a very interesting change that we have discussed among the ST and the Administration about the position of Snow Elves within the community. With their downfall of a nation, their hamfisted origins that never went through the LT vote and the lack of distinct culture or value as a subrace, we have decided to remove the sub-race of snow elves and revert them to High Elves. The Mali’fenn culture still exists, though its origins will not be properly canonised and now will be a ‘legend’ that those within the race believe, yet it will not have any OOC bearing on this. The Mali’fenn themselves have always had a very strange role within the server, where their existence as a subrace has had little to no impact or uniqueness apart from being the generic ‘strong’ elf that people have used to bastardise its culture. Especially with the complete collapse of its nation status during the duration of this map, it felt appropriate to finally revert the decision that was made without the Lore Team’s approval in the first place. So ALL current Snow Elven characters can keep their culture, but they must adhere to the standards of High Elven builds, heights and weights. There is no distinction between Snow Elf or High Elf blood, any Snow Elf mix breed characters will now just be High Elven hybrids. tl;dr/changelog - - Snow Elves are not a distinct subrace anymore, they are a culture of High Elves - Their origins are ‘de-canonised’ and their racial lore is now a legend within the server, a story that can be told and understood but never legitimised OOC’ly. - All current Snow Elves will be classified as High Elves, no real distinction or change is forced except following the height standards of this race.

  11. The veils of purple and crimson intertwine from the smouldering crater that remains within the Urguani Mountainside. Corpses litter the inside of the scorched earth that surrounds the ivory object that fell from the sky many years ago, bloodied orifices stained and mixed into the dirt beneath. The deep noise that came from the object dissuaded most animals, no birds flew overhead and purposefully changed their routes to avoid even colliding with the columns of light and flame that bellowed upward. Scorched lines of dirt and earth spread themselves out in a crude, nonsensical web. Crystalised rock was seen jutting from the edges of the impact sight, with glimmers of light shining from the occasional cloudy sheen of glass that envelopes itself over various spikes that protrude from the edge of the crater. Between the veils, the air shimmers and vibrates in strange, erratic patterns, a curious sight to any that venture close to the object. The stars above twist and change when stepping closer to the object itself, the positioning of different orbs of light changing place among the dark abyss that encases the world itself. The trees around the mountainside seem to wilt slowly, strange patterns of leaf shedding corresponding outside of the seasonal patterns, where spring would rise and the plant-life covers itself with the crisp, dry leaves that normally dwell upon the months of harvest. Where the heat of the middle months are followed by trees that shed their branches bare, exposing the skeleton that held nature’s bounty upon its shoulders. For whatever lingered too close to the object that fell from the heavens, it perverted the nature of what remained. What did the heavens grant us? Why is it here? What will we do?
  12. tbf the white kha debacle is the equivalent of like trying to get humans to not say they’re direct children of Horen or whatever. It’s very arbitrary but it’s purpose is to basically stop the bastardisation of the past and allow for the Kharajyr to actually remember their history instead of people using it on ‘white bleached cubs’ and justifying it as wanting to be cute. Benbo's done really well here, it’s something more succinct and clean cut that helps show their place on the server. We’ll see if it goes through the slog of loremags and survives the process. This is hopefully a kick up the ass for any people who want to play kharajyr and to double down and create something unique.

  14. I’ve explored this issue so many times. Like I don’t want to hear this broken record and the people who need to know about it, know about it. I’m just saying that most of these issues I’ve spoken to other Dwarves about. If anyone wishes to approach me about this. My discord is joel#4235. I’m happy to respond to PMs and communicate about what happened. The TL;DR was basically there was miscommunication about the fleet, then the spreading of rumors and a variety of things. The fleet is something I’m aiming to fix up and organise, but if people throw punches I’ll throw punches back. The mechanics of the event were made because the players were genuinely struggling to interact and do the event, which is my fault for expecting my own personal RP standards. So I’m play-testing systems, so may work, so may not. I’m trying the best I can to create assets and systems that story team members can use later for next maps and for other ETs to adapt the styles that work. Otherwise we scrap the systems that don’t work and alter them otherwise. I’m trying and we’re constantly adapting. Alot of **** that I’ve wanted to happen hasn’t, I’ve had lack of support and participation and then a bunch of people ignoring my event for either some bad experiences, my reputation or a variety of other reasons to not bother. I’m really trying to give you guys something you’ll all enjoy. We just need to open up those channels of communication between everyone. He also did, but once again. I’ve spoken about this /alot/ since it happened a few months ago
  15. i just got done with a 50 rep thread I really don’t need to do another
  16. The night sky drapes across Arcas as the waters surrounding the Korvassa shudder in small waves. Giant, bloodied behemoths are seen trudging through the shallow sandbanks, their chained ankles tearing through coral and disturbing the aquatic life that inhabits that area. With this, the mammoth-like beings move upon the shore of Vanmark, materials and chains rattling upon the top platforms that occupy the creatures. Within the night, blackened shapes now consume the airspace between Vitenna and Vanmark, the infernal calls and screams heard from the refugee camp of the Qalisheen and to those that occupy the former burial site in the mountain range. Traders, merchants and people are seen traveling in and out of the city, the presence of the beings lingering but no infernal beings roam the walls of Vanmark. The citizens themselves were constantly aware of the threat that surrounded the city, yet it never intruded or exuded its will against those within. Instead, pieces of paper are hammer into the nearby forests, sent with envoys and a variety of ways that spread across the lands of Arcas.
  17. This blatant mis-use of lore authority against these pieces of lore is absolutely abhorrent. The messenger that spread this gospel has truly allowed us to see the injustice that this horrific team even bothers existing.

All that we deserve to do is introduce guns and give the innovations to the sugarfoots. They are allowed to do Gang Warfare roleplay all because of the players. For what the players what, the players will get.

The kharajyr themselves are a fantastic race built upon the foundation of proper roleplay and being friendly towards one another. The Story Team are evil, burning the pillar of the community down in a firey inferno.
