  1. KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM EA BYK ZWE ZANYOTSKER ZWEER EA TER PETRAVEZKER ZWEM UNEIN FITSKZ Privej to all my compatriots, both on the war and home fronts, The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska finds itself embroiled in yet another continental war, this time, against the Empire of Oren, our once traditional ally and overlord - albeit under strenuous circumstances during those times. Conflicts of these scales are never a simple affair that can be so easily categorized morally, families will be torn apart by allegiances, and many will derive their hostilities from the notion of inherent superiority, allowing them to slander and slaughter their fellow Man with impunity. At the current rate, the devastation brought upon uswill be of a tremendous scale unlike seen since the War of the Two Emperors - dark days ahead, in which Humanity will only serve to lose if the Kingdom of Haense does not act. However, this war is also borne of necessity, a necessity that warrants the unfortunate death of many, for just as a gardener would trim the rot from his plants, so too must the Realms of Canondom, and her allies, trim the Empire of its rot, and ensure the continued and prosperous survival of our peoples. This blight, the Rulers of Oren, has proven itself to be Almaris’ most consequential and destabilizing force of governance. Plagued by the intrigues of palace assassinations, and wanton usurpation, Philip III of Novellen, has attempted to the dictation of blind unity, riding on a wave of popularity that saw him enthroned - as if indirectly demanding the vassalization of all Humanity once more. His first fault. The Kingdom of Haense does not take kindly to these attempts. Our ancestors fought tenaciously for our continued independence, eventually released of our obligations by Empress Anne, for our continued resistance proved too much to bear for the Institutions of Oren. In his attempts to propagate the notion of total unity, Philip has galvanized what could have been his most powerful ally in the human realms, his Empire now left alone as the world bears down upon it - resorting to the purchasing of petty bandits to further his goals. Haense shall not be so easily cowed by these belligerent imperialist aspirations. However, it is not only Philip’s excited words, but also a plethora of actions that have proved his alienation - for knowledge has arisen that his family, and maybe even himself, were either complicit, or directly responsible for in the assassination of the late Prince Imperial of the Orenian Empire, the would-be Emperor - his own father. Whatever excuse they present in attempts to mitigate these claims are met with no acceptance, for even the High Pontiff of the Church of Canon has made his judgment on this matter, excommunicating the Emperor, his wife, the Empress, and the Prince of Savoy. It is now our duty, in accordance with the Poenitentia Incompleta, to see them removed should they refuse the Will of the Church. And so, with our intention to depose the ruling hierarchy of Oren, our crusade has been blessed by the High Pontiff - the Fear and Love of God shall be reinstilled in the hearts of these lost sheep. In another bout of insanity, Philip also plotted for the establishment of the Michaelite Schism, an attempted religious divide that faced such intense scrutiny that it lasted but a few days after it was declared in the Palace of Savoy - what sort of Emperor schemes so blatantly against God, his Vicar, and his Church? His unapologetic lust for power clouds his mind. If it were not for the presence of Jurgen Barclay, myself, and of the Haeseni as a whole at the coronation, would the High Pontiff still be with us on this plane of existence? For these actions, the Emperor supposedly did his penance, but it was later discovered that he was but a snake lying in the grass, as aforementioned, it was revealed that he had his part in the assassination of his father. As Fidei Defensor, Haense must put this twice excommunicated Emperor to rest if he does not do so himself. “Though a thief may find refuge and the blasphemer speak softly, the Lord’s eye is cast over all sin. To reject Him in private is the truest rejection, the lasting condemnation.” (Spirit 2:14-15) With the assertion of Philip to the Imperial Throne, we have seen his rabid interactions in which he attacks all he wrongfully perceives to be a threat, as if he were a mangy dog one could find in the slums of Providence. His first act of diplomacy from the throne was to recommence the war the Grand Kingdom of Urguan had just concluded upon the death of the late Emperor - a war in which the Urguanite saw no need to continue, but were instead dragged back into it. It could be believed this was to solidify his reign, as his ascension was under tenuous circumstances or perhaps to recoup some ‘lost prestige’, however, he played his cards without even first consulting the greater impact his offensive actions may have upon Almaris. I hope this is to be his last fault, for the Realms of Almaris now converge on him, to depose an Emperor that has brought so much chaos in such a short time. And so, with all these culminating, the Kingdom of Haense finds itself at war with the forces of Oren. We fight for our continued independence in the face of Imperialist Expansionism, we fight for the Church in opposition to a Godless Emperor, we fight for allies aggressed upon wantonly. As my friend, the Lord Palatine, would write in his Chancellor’s Report, “Not only have our allies been aggressed upon by the Emperor, but it is also our duty as the Fidei Defensor to heed the call of the High Pontiff. We were left with no choice but to act.” The Emperor has played his hand, it is our part now to see its end - we must sever this limb so that he may never curse our lands with his chaos once more. I only hope that Humanity in its entirety will prevail through these trying times. I wish you all good fortune in the wars to come, Firr Maxim of the Attenlund, Royal Alderman PROTECT THIS REALM OF OURS
  2. "My dashing looks must have won me all those votes..." Maxim mumbles to himself, "Time to get to work!"
  3. Maxim remembers the day he was made to guard the Duma Hall by chance, as its assembly renewed the defensive alliance with Urguan months prior to the ultimatum sent by the Emperor of Oren - he groans, unwilling to go any further as he is reminded of how stiff his legs were for having stood for so long. He wonders why the Orenians think this was some sort of ploy, when the Hall was open to the public. The thoughts are shaken away as he simply marks the Orenian concerns as poor attempts to grasp some sort of moral superiority.
  4. Taken by the spirit of Faiz Kharadeen, Maxim inexplicably utters an unknown saying upon hearing of Sir Mohammad's resolution, "Alhamdulillah."
  5. "A righteous war!" Maxim declares joyfully whilst on march, blessed by the Pontificate to tear down the Orenian Administration.
  6. Think Philip III should only get the moniker "the Great" if he can decisively win this Coalition War

  7. Maxim marches forth from Karosgrad along with his assigned contingency of Haeseni soldiers as they make way to wage war on Oren - a big smile on his face, kept oblivious to the imminent devastations of war. "KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM!"
  8. IGN: seannie Whilst off-duty from his responsibilities as a Brotherhood Oathedman, Maxim found himself perusing through the newly posted Nominations of 403 E.S and as he reads through the criteria for eligibility, an epiphany strikes him - why wait for change when you could be the propagator of such yourself? With determination instilled in his heart, the peasant turned soldier acquires his own form for application, completes it, and mails it off to the Office of the Lord Speaker. His bid for Alderman has been made. Character Name: Maxim Attenlund Age: Twenty-One Place of Residence: County of Ayr, Duchy of Valwyck Position: Alderman Firr Maxim Attenlund's Place of Residence, Ayr.
  9. Haeseni war correspondents run about attached to the Dweds of Urguan, recording the events that unfolded within New Providence for the Golden Crow Chronicles (GCC).
  10. Max rubs his hands together very Haesenily, plotting the downfall of Humanity through the machinations of the Church and the Muldav Menace.
  11. "As previously remarked - Orenian words are like wind. I do not see a modicum of respect behind these thin veils of theirs. Their assault on the Pontiff, and subsequent fabrications was a deliberate attack on the entirety of Cannondom - the punishment, the penance, I hope, is to be scaled much higher. To even attempt the assumption of your own penance, while being at the mercy of the Church, is an audacious act in itself. The snakes will strike again when His Holiness is least ready, they simply did not account for the bravery of Haense the last time they tried. These new Orenians are a farce, and should be treated as such!" Maxim the Educated peasant said aloud to himself behind his quadruple bunker doors, almost as if he was crazed.
  12. Sigismund 2 no longer screeches in the void as the world was returned to its rightful place with the return of Reinmar to House Barclay.
  13. "How progressive!" Maxim remarks, his hands clapping together in celebration along with the gathered crowd in Karosgrad learning of the announcement.
  14. The gate's guard, Maxim, responds wholeheartedly, "Yes, mlord! They're no better than the snakes that were their progenitors." he clamored along, excited by the happenings that he just experienced. "I say we cut off their heads, let the rest of these schismatics wither away without it - put some sense back into these Orenians. They've forfeited their lives by assaulting the Vicar of God anyway." he concludes with an affirmative nod of his head, carefully observing the traffic trickle into Karosgrad.
  15. Maxim spits to the side in typical peasant fashion, cursing out the following, "Ain't no point following this treacherous schismatic Savoyard puppet, Anti-Popes be damned to the Void. Damn that Principality of Snakes also, breaking the laws of hospitality!"
  16. Maxim of Attenlund - famed peasant of Haense - escorts the righteous Pontifex, Everard VI, out of the Den of Savoyard snakes that was their Royal Palace, having quickly secured a route of escape before they converged on His Holiness.
  17. Maxim enjoys himself the jolly and holly Tuvmas festivities of the season throughout Haense, especially anticipating the coming lighting of the Tuvmas tree in the center of Karosgrad - blissfully ignoring the Orenian implosion to the south as he pops open another chocolate from his advent calendar.
  18. how do you get actors to show off savoyardic mod abuse during the war??

  20. Aurigan Heavy Cruiser Patrol, Mountains of Advar, 1891 Turn 3 - NEW YEAR 1891 - Spring - Summer THE JENA PACT EXPANDS THE BANTU KINGDOM HAS ADDED ITS SIGNATURE TO THE ALLIANCE CONSEQUENCES TO GEOPOLITICS UNKNOWN THE GREAT KHANATE OF TANN EXPANDS AIRSHIPS SPOTTED THROUGHOUT THE SHATTERED PLAINS TYREL, AADRENSVELD, MIRAAB, JENA ALL REPORT SIGHTINGS WARS IMMINENT RELATIONS SOUR BETWEEN THE DOMAIN AND THE PRINCIPALITIES CAUSE: EXPANSION THE HIGH HEGEMON HAS DEMANDED A CESSATION OF COLONIZATION NEW TRADE MECHANICS ADDED The Holy Empire of Seschsia Warlord Aralov, following some months of Seschsian inactivity in the region, has become more apparent once more, with his forces rumored to have been deployed. The borderlands have yet to report any attacks. Event: Orbital Defense Facility The ruins of the facility have long been pilfered endlessly by the nearby population of Sechsians for years now. There’s nothing much else to offer other than being a site of tourism for those interested in the lost arts of the First Era. Event: Ruined Spaceport The same holds true for this Spaceport, with every nook and cranny so far explored to their fullest. The Shturmoviki Commander in charge does mention that the Spaceport could be a good site for an aeroport if they refurbish it. The Miraabi Confederation The Khan sizes up the Great Miraab - raiding airships are spotted constantly upon the horizon, but the plateau remains strong. The Duchy of Charalais Event: The Bridge Re-construction of the Bridge continues without fault, along with the new legalities and such. The New World, without need for the mobilization of vast fleets of colonizing airships, is soon to be reached. [1 turn left] Event: The Rising Threat of the Shard of Sarram The pirates that had been ambushed earlier last year have long since disappeared entirely from the region - though a rising rumour emerges further east - something about Sky Clans. The Naresian Cities of Al-Alad and Al-Nare are accepting of the Duke’s assistance, their fleets mobilized for defensive measures. The Naresians have nothing much else to report, only stating that the pirates have fled north towards Sarradon - though they do share their concerns with the reavers of the Shard of Sarram, their convoys raided before by these new organized pirates, a potential new strike may be imminent. The Koninkrijk Aadrensveld-Rhynsland The Kingdom is bustling with activity upon the formal discovery of the New World. Images are plastered throughout the newspapers of the realm, presenting potential new life in this foreign continent. A great surge of colonialism has begun. Event: The New World The Second Expedition to the New World, under command of ZMS Osterhoudt meets with significant successes, documenting and detailing the foreign lands in line with their mission expectations. The land itself is mostly arid, with strange formations of localized plateaus rising from the ground as if they were mountains. The natives, black-skinned in appearance, have been seen living upon these plateaus, utilizing extremely rudimentary gliding crafts and the likes to get back and forth. The presence of the Osterhoudt causes a great commotion as it looms high above in the skies, though nothing much occurs as the Koninkrijk maintains its lofty height above these indigenous peoples. It becomes quickly apparent that the plateaus are home to a great amount of life other than human, with water plentiful, among other indiscernible things. Further expeditions will no doubt establish a foothold in the new world, as these natives are entirely backwards compared to the Koninkrijk Event: The Union of Kassadan and Aadrensveld The proposals are met with resounding applause throughout the Archduchy of Tyrel, for Duke Terah’s daughter, Mariam Kassadan, had become of age for marriage. Tyrel accepts the proposal, with the marriage between Lady Mariam and Prince Franz to be held within Coenstaad - the Union has effectively solidified relations between the two realms, an alliance is formed through blood. Event: The Kantoor van de Nationaal Veiligheid The Office of National Security is formed without fault, bolstered by able personnel from throughout the Koninkrijk. Though untested on the international stage, their capabilities are unpar in regards to the homefront - often compared to the Acadian Consulate’s own counterinsurgency departments. It is theorized that the KNV may be able to ward off espionage attempts, but simulations still detail them lacking when compared to more… deceitful powers. The Republic of Lannion Event: The Emissary’s Travel Eastward The envoy’s travel proceeds without fault towards the New World - there are no armed forces meeting his small civilian airships as he touches down onto these foreign beaches. The surrounding area seems heavily rural, almost reminiscent of the Republic’s peasantry back home - though the crowds that have gathered are significantly different in their appearance, from even their ways of dress to their visage. Most peculiarly, their eyes are slanted, almost like those of the Tann Khanate. Frustratingly, the languages spoken are entirely incomprehensible to both parties, but discussions are easily continued with general gestures and images. After some time, some individuals that appear to be like soldiers, escort the Emissary away, deeper into the New World. Event: The Spire, year 2 Luckily for the expedition, the Republic’s constant providing of resources has allowed them to go further beyond, avoiding obstacles and maintaining proper pace upward. Following Station V, only four more inhabited Stations remain, with Station Z expected to be reached within the next few months. The next station the expedition passes will put them fully above the range of most airships, where even though the Spire insulates the weather, the cold bites deep nonetheless. The Sky Clans The hunting grounds are set, the prey await their fate. The Bantu baseZulwini Event: Bantu Colonization The Kingdom’s expansion goes without fault, with much of the surrounding stateless population themselves consisting of Bantu ethnicities - they fold easily into the centralized control of Langa. Event: Westward Expedition The travels of the UWW Langa and her detachment go forth without any complications, making quick travel to their destination. It seems there is nothing to threaten the Bantu in this voyage. New discoveries are made, with the island found to be hospitable, like the mainland. Strange formations are spotted by UWW Langa’s fighter patrols, soon realized to be some sort of constructs, First Era in make, just like those found at home. Their purpose, however, remains entirely unknown, as more detailed investigations will need to take place. For now, the Naval Officers theorize the site to be some sort of ancient facility for whatever use deemed important at the time - its interiors offering not much insight - though a large painted inscription on some buildings have hence dubbed it as ‘Installation 0078’. Event: The Pastoral Visit of 1890 The Pontiff’s arrival in the Bantu Kingdom is met with tremendous acclaim by those still adhering strongly to the Hieoromic Faith - the allowance of this Holy Voyage has bolstered their fervour, at the cost of an increasingly dissatisfied opposition. The Protectorate of Contamrol Event: A Khan Scorned The Khanate is quick to take advantage of the situation that had occurred in Parlamann, deploying several Noyans to the area to provide… ‘assistance’. For better or worse, the presence of Tannic Warriors within the Proctorate has increased significantly. However, the presence of their airships cannot be understated, as a fleet of 20 destroyers, 2 Topmarines and 4 Light Cruisers appear to defend the Protectorate - deployed in patrol formations. They begin their own investigation into the attack, but simply outright state that the cursed Great Miraab, a den of Tannic traitors, is the perpetrator, most likely. They assure the Protectorate that the Miraab shall be destroyed for their slight and provide Parlamaan with an immense amount of material support and funds. [20,000c from Khanate investment and rebuilding efforts in Parlamaan] Event: Expedition into the Depths Further excavations into the ruined undercity of Parlamann provides nothing much of use, as an unfortunate wrong turn ends up collapsing an entire section of the undercity being excavated - most likely disturbed by the reverberations of explosions in the Crater-City above earlier in the year. Water permeates throughout these sections of ruins, as it seems an aquifer has breached the undercity. The Eastern Katsumore Clan Event: The Emperor’s Tour of Tyrel The people of Tyrel have come to be fascinated with the young Emperor of the West, often coming out in great droves to show their support. It seems the Archduchy is simply a lively place of boundless optimism - unusual in a world so wracked by ruinous devastation, but surprisingly wholesome, nonetheless. As for the union of marriage, Archduke Terah apologizes for the lack of a potential suitable suitor, for his only daughter was already promised to the Koninkrijk. His son, the Ducal Heir, also Terah, is available, along with his niece, Anna. Should this be acceptable, the Archduchy is most ready to assist the Daichi in their establishment of a Tyrellian form of government. Event: The Fleet Departs Though the sudden punitive campaign against the Sky Beast is met with skepticism from the Priests of the Ways of Life, Drakers nevertheless take up on the offer by the dozen. Around 10 destroyers and 2 Light Cruisers are added to the Daichi’s fleet as they head northward to do away with the Sky Beasts. Though oddly enough, after thorough patrols during these months, the presence of sky beasts has been minimal, perhaps due to the occurrences in the west. Event: The Kempeitai Just as the Acadians and the Aadrensveld established their modern national defense agencies, so did the Daichi. The Eastern Katsumore, a Beacon of Ingenuity - with their tremendous works of technology, are no doubt prime targets for those who seek to uncover such secrets - perhaps the Kempeitai will be of assistance in warding off such attempts. The Acadian Consulate Event: A Good Bug is a Dead Bug The overwhelming Acadian response to the Klendathu Forest has effectively stifled the spread of these genetic freaks. Bugs die by the thousands as they are lured into killzones, blasted apart by artillery and airships, swept aside by the Infanterie follow ups. The ‘Deadzone’ is now mostly recovered under civilized control, with some fortunate pockets of Acadians rescued. The move onto Site 0004 begins, secrets soon to be uncovered. Event: Eyes in the Hills The Coastal Settlement of Yport is established without fault, quickly attracting a great boom of colonists from the inner cities to terraform the land to their desires. Here, the earth is plenty, and its forests bountiful, a good life to be had for any willing to brave the new world. Bizarre occurrences begin to be reported, one minor outpost even stating they saw an unidentifiable flying object, almost like an airship. It seems that the further west the Acadians go, the stranger things become. Fort Frontenac is established, a forward operating base for exploration in the south-west. The island is similar to that of the Strait’s Administration, windswept with little life, mostly sky-fish herds stopping by for rest. Research Slot: EAM Modele A The surprising revelation of the further sophistication of land vehicles is met with resounding success as the already established engineers of Acadia are gathered together to formalize the creation of the first personal-use automobile. The granship of the earth, so to say. A carriage on wheels with an engine, soon to be available for all in a short time following many bouts of trial and error. [2 Turns until automobiles are available] The Bound Constellation Achlys spews out another great billow of ash and smoke, the wind sweeping it away to terrorize another region in the Shattered Plains. The Crusaders of Jena With the Behemothaur finally laid to rest, the Crusaders rejoice in prayers and other pious celebrations. The remaining Draker cruiser, now alone with the destruction of its sister ships, offers itself up to the Jenase Navy for a tremendously small price of 5000c. The Lydia Maria is also recovered, having been found crashed into the earth following a loss of control in the cyclonic winds - with the majority of its crew dead from impact, though the Captain survived due to being strapped to his seat. With the Behemothaur dead, an immense operation is underway to dissect the beast for its wealth of resources, providing the State with a tremendous economic boost from its carcass alone - wreckages of airships are found within its insides. [5000c for a Light Cruiser should offer be accepted, 1 Light Cruiser recovered/incapacitated for 1 turn, 30,000c in harvesting worth] Western Katsumore Clan Event: The Sky Beasts Beyond It seems the Daichi of the West have greatly underestimated the potency of the Sky Beast presence in the mountains, with the deployment of their fleets facing an increasing amount of resistance, and some airships simply outright incapacitated as they are brought down by swarms of sky beasts. The Hive, deep in the mountains, has been further rustled to liveliness. The Horde will soon be upon the Daichi for this disturbance. Event: The Western Sacred Tree With the Eastern Daichi sharing their findings, the west also begins uncovering the secrets deep under their city, also finding a long lost laboratory seemingly dated back to the First Era. Their efforts begin earnestly in fully excavating the point of interest, though having started late, and needing to dig through the earth - it will take some time to get anything of use as the Daichi carefully commit to their archeological findings.
  21. The New World 1890, Acadian Colonial Freighter, Lucerne-Rhodes Line Turn 2 1890 - Autumn - Fall GREAT QAYA KHAN, RULER OF THE UNIVERSE, HAS EMERGED THE SHATTERED PLAINS TO BE SHATTERED ONCE MORE ALL WILL TREMBLE AND BOW BENEATH THIS UNIVERSAL FORCE THE WORLD AWAITS WITH BATED BREATH TO SEE WHO SHALL BE THE CHAMPION OF THE GRAND RACE Turn 2 Map The Daichi Clans of the East POI Investigation: The Sacred Tree of Life As the roots part to allow the Samurais into the under-depths of the Sacred Tree, it quickly becomes apparent that they have entered the ruins of a First Era facility. Seemingly a sort of laboratory, nothing much left remains of it except the skeletal remains of First Men here and there. Though the languages predate the establishment of the Lingua Herin, the common language of the world, it is shockingly reminiscent of the Daichian native tongue. Quick investigation by available linguists concludes that the languages present within these halls are indeed the precursor of the Daichi’s own, which has long since warped with the evolution of cultures in the thousands of years since this facility was operational. More time will have to pass to allow researchers to fully decipher the meaning of this sacred site, as well as the excavating of ruined segments. POI Investigation: The Sacred Lake of Ishida The mythical pool of life of the Daichi - it is here where the wife of the Dragon Emperor cried out her soul, grieving over the loss of her husband and sons during the civil war. In her passing, she imbued the land with her life, her tears creating the Ishida Lake, which has overflowed into the creation of the Asahi River that has divided by the Daichi Realms. The Lake now remains as a spectacle, a site of pilgrimage for the Daichi, its surface shimmering with splendid lights at all times of the day, its beauty multiplied during the night as it reflects the light of the moon, stars, and the great barrier that engulfs the planet. As this was already a popular site, held together in mutual agreement by the peoples of the Daichi, the hiking teams of both Empires went off without a hitch, the two parties enjoying their luncheons by the Lake. Event: The Archduchy of Tyrel The Arch Duke, Terah of the House Kassadan, is an amiable old fellow - considered by many to be the fatherly figure of his realm as a bastion of sensibilities and stability. The young Iwamoto is most welcomed within his lands, granted a most magnificent tour of all its sights and public knowledge. Having had no ill-relations in the past, and certainly none now, the Tyrelian House of Commons, formally approves the signature of a non-aggression-pact between the two nations. A great welcome awaits Emperor Iwamoto Katsumore. Event: Sky Drakers and Sky Beasts Though most Drakers have left the Sacred Forests in hopes of better hunting grounds, some remain to be officially contracted through official means, acquiring their permits at the Northern Citadel. Perhaps upon another day, the Sky Beasts may have been soothed into calmness by psychic interferences, these current generations are much too hostile and erratic - force must be used, or else allow your nation to be ruined by ravaging hordes of flying creatures. The defensive measures taken earlier in the year have sent the majority of the sky beasts fleeing back into the mountains, where they lurk once more, far from over. [5000c for this turn in Draker contracts and other sky beast related gains] Event: The Way South Almost immediately the 1st Colonial Fleet of the Daichi is met with resistance, the islands to the south have been occupied by a motley amalgamation of pirates, brigands, and other ruffians. Should the Emperor wish to continue, he would have to force his way through with fire and steel. Research Slot 1: ‘KOMODO’ The state of the art researching facilities of the Mitskukiki is hard at work developing their own independent model of Vitriol body armor. Though the acquisition of resources, and the actual manufacturing of it will take time, it is estimated, thanks to the pre-established knowledge of the Varnyan armorers and the general capabilities of the Daichian Intelligentsia, it won't take much time. [2 Turns till mass production of Komodo Armor is able, 1891, Q3-Q4] Research Slot 2: REDACTED The Holy Sechsian Empire A new calendar, a new age - always obedient, either by implication of fear or blindness, the Bophanov Calendar has replaced that of the Hieoromar, in a bid to reveal the true truths of the world. Quick to torment, petty magistrates throughout the Empire force their peasantry into this adoption on the penalty of severe punishment. Life is good in Sechsia, though verily, there is much to be done still. Event: Operation Candle The campaign in the east goes off without any problem, as the organized forces of the Empire swarm over that of Aralov’s subjugated peasantry. The Warlord offers no resistance as he further retreats from the region, solidifying his positions in the mountains further east, where it has become increasingly apparent that he has taken up the halls of an Ancient Citadel at the base of the mountains. However, the more the Sechsian investigate, the more they come to the realization that greater forces are at play than just a simple Warlord... Koninkrijk Aadrensveld-Rhynsland Event: The New World The Waakhaamzeid along with her contingent make a quick patrol of the shores of the new world, wherein they find the first recorded instances of civilized life, or what seems to be such anyway. Fellow humans, on a new land, their skin dark like the Bantu peoples of the baseZulwini. However, unlike the Bantu peoples of the Continent, these groups of peoples seem more akin to the peasants of Sechsia in their ways of life. They seem non-hostile, more curious of the RARN airships than anything, but the nature of the Royal Fleet’s mission does not allow them to remain long before they depart once more for home, bringing by their newfound revelations. Event: The Tyrellian Embassy The offer for the normalization of diplomacy between the two nations is wholeheartedly accepted, commemorated with the first establishment of an embassy within Coenstaad. The Minister of Tyrellian Foreign Affairs personally attends the opening ceremony, thanking the citizens of the Isle for their continued interests in the relations of the two realms. Ambassador Kezan has taken up his role as the Ducal liaison to the Koninkrijk. Event: The Caves of Coenstaad The exploration and mapping begins without any apparent issue, as these pioneers go further into the depths of the cave. Despite being at least two kilometres into the earth, the air remains breathable, perhaps thanks to the composition of the cave itself, along with various bodies of accessible aquifer chambers trapping oxygen. The canary birds brought down so far have detected no harmful airborne toxins so far, so the expedition continues. They have reached a new waypoint thus far, a vast abyss with no signs of an end to its depths. No anomalies or creatures have been spotted yet. Research: REDACTED The Duchy of Charolais Though the joint Charolese-Naresian punitive campaign in the east could be considered a success, as they routed the pirates from the area, the sudden activation of ancient weapons had struck the allied fleet fiercely. What commenced with a proper ambush upon the pirate stronghold, ultimately ended in a catastrophe. The Naresian Heavy Cruiser, the Zwehollah, found itself annihilated by a beam of light emitted from deep within the mountains, along with other vessels in the immediate vicinity. Unable to deal with the shock, the weapons facility which had just taken out the Zwehollah, promptly exploded following its activation, taking a chunk of its mountain with it in an enormous eruption. With their electrical components fried due to the beam of energy, the fleet is forced to allow the remaining enemy airships to flee north, as they retreat to their naval bases. A Naresian Banker of the City of Al-Alad finally arrives in Charolles, granting them the spoils of the captured pirate stronghold, as well as remuneration for the loss of Charolais airships due to their intelligence mistakes. [15,000c in both combined loot and Naresian reparations] Event: The Bridge to the New World The Ducal Government, satisfied with their pickings, finally issues the reconstruction of the great bridge that crosses the gap between the Old World and the New World. It will take some time, but estimates have it in a year where mass migrations of peoples from the Old World will be funneled through this reconstructed bridge. The Duchy no doubt reaping such benefits. [2 turns until land bridge connection to the New World is made] The Daichi Clans of the West POI Investigation: The Sacred Lake of Ishida [Repeat] The mythical pool of life of the Daichi - it is here where the wife of the Dragon Emperor cried out her soul, grieving over the loss of her husband and sons during the civil war. POI Investigation: Sky Beast Hive in the Mountains In an unfortunate turn of fate, the military expedition to the western mountains stumbles upon a great site, a huge singular mountain which has seemingly been hollowed out. Thousands of sky beasts litter the area, pouring out from every orifice - detailing a scene far from the truth that sky beasts are an endangered class of ‘animals’. Thankfully, the Commander in charge was able to spot the increased sightings of Sky Beasts long before they were caught, and make a hasty retreat back to the homeland to report their findings. POI Investigation: The Barrier The other expedition further west goes without any problem, as they discover another Lake just like that of Ishida, with its own river cascading down the mountains to form another natural border keeping the Sacred Forest from overflowing onto unsanctified grounds. Other than being a sight to behold, there was nothing else of note to report. Event: Sky Drakers and Sky Beasts What occurs in the east, also continues in the west. Many Drakers simply leave the area upon the issuing of the new edict of hunting regulations, though some remain, sensing the potential in profits should the sky beasts return en-mass. [5000c for this turn in Draker contracts and other sky beast related gains] Research Slot 1: REDACTED The Crusader State of Jena The Behemothaur continues its rage, revealing tremendous powers. Hurricanes form over the mountains of Jena, in freak opposition to the inherent laws of nature. Event: Regulation of Sky Drakers The sudden and harsh crack-down of Draker activities in Jena has simply made the majority of these hunters sail off to find new prospects, leaving only a few foolhardy to take on the Behemothaur with Admiral Klausewitz. The Sky Beasts continue their travels to their final resting grounds unhindered. Event: Scouting the New World The Retia Illia makes good progress in its endeavours, mapping out much of the islands - which are mostly hospitable and temperate in nature, each with their own unique ecosystems of semi-aquatic life and docile sky beast herds. However, at its furthest point east, the Jenesian Cruiser soon discovered that what it was flying over was not another island, but potentially an entirely new continent, as the land stretched far into the horizon. The nature of its mission had made it so it needed to quickly return to the homeland Research Slot: Vitriol Judge Armor Just like the armorers of the Daichi, and of Vernyn, so too does Jena commence its own infantry based personal body armor systems, with a tad more intricacies to it, however. The fine control of vitriol on such a micro level will require much expertise and experiments. Depending on the capabilities of the Jenesian development, the Judge Armor may very well have to include a sort of power generating system to maintain the control of Vitriol, rather than the relatively simple defensive armor of the Daichi and Vernyn. [4 Turns at current rate until any viable development is made, 1892, Q3-Q4] Ancient Tech Slot: Ancient Weather Station Deciphering such ancient technology is no easy feat, even with the inherent capabilities of the Jenesian historians and researchers. Much of the interfaces of the weather station have simply eroded and rotten away, leaving not much to work with simply. The replacement and installment of new power generators may provide some new insight on returning the facilities to operational levels, but the knowledge on such remains arcane in nature. Luckily enough, the vast existing assortment of ancient texts within Jena can provide some assistance, as well as the already pre-established linguistic understanding of many of the First Era’s regional languages. A manual has been discovered, in which it details the blueprint of a potential generator, according to the Jenesian current level of understanding - perhaps the construction of such may render the Weather Station back to life. The Sky Clans Event: The Raids on Al-Nare It takes only one unlucky convoy to be ambushed before the majority of the Naresian League mobilizes increased protection details for their merchant fleets. Any further attacks on these well protected fleets will no doubt result in pitched battles. Luckily enough, the first raided convoy has provided much wealth, enticing many to become increasingly bold. [10,000c from raiding one Naresian convoy] Research Slot: The Radio Radios are not an entirely unknown concept of the Old World, as it was presumed that such a piece of technology was commonly used far back in the past. However, such technological knowledge has long since been lost. Most airships have simply defaulted to the utilization of morse codes, flags, or even telegrams, as granships can deploy such connections between airships should it be necessary. To talk clearly to one another independent of any form of physical connection seems like a daunting task best reserved for the ruins of the ancients, but work begins nonetheless as researchers attempt to figure out how to harness electromagnetic waves. [5 turns at current rate until any potential discovery is made] The Protectorate of Contamrol Event: The Kurultai The Kurultai has concluded and the New Khanate has begun its expansion - all will bow to the Great Qara Khan. The Contamrolite emissary is returned to the Craters, their severed head in a box. War is no doubt on the horizon. Event: Excavating the Domed City A new endeavour into the depths of the Crater City begins, revealing a huge chamber, with what seems to be an immense warehouse of military equipment, tucked away into rows of crates and the like. Though most have since withered away, rapidly deteriorating due to the sudden advent of oxygen, some equipment may very well be repurposed to fit modern needs. Much of these ruins remain undiscovered. [+2 one time AP] Research Slot: Rockets The knowledge of rockets isn’t entirely unknown, but is immensely misunderstood - especially when the Contamrolites' only desire is to go fast. Maybe something will be discovered eventually, but at the moment, sticking rockets to airships isn’t doing much of anything. The current understanding of chemicals for rocket propulsion is unknown, while some are already used as weapons, with varying degrees of failures, as accuracy is non-existent. The Acadian Consulate Event: New World, New Me Normal activities in the Lucerne Aeroport resumed as quickly as they were disrupted, as dozens of freighters a day took off to the New World. In a grand project, three new colonial outposts were established in the stop-over islands, Rhodes, Chambery, Pontcharraud. All of which are established without much issue, though the surfaces of their islands have long since been swept and eroded away by the harsh winds that divides Acadia from the New World. Without any further issues, the 1st Colonial Marine Division is deployed to the New World, dropped into a new land nearly identical in nature to that of their homeland. They begin their expedition, scouring the region for potential hazards and new life, but so far find nothing much different than what they already have back home. Most platoons of marines can’t help spreading rumours that they feel as if they’re being watched, propagating the superstition that the mountains have eyes. Event: Monster Hunting Time The deployment of the division of infantry to quell the situation in the rural countryside has escalated tenfold. It seems the sudden presence of soldiers has increased the number, tenacity, and voraciousness of these mutated abominations. During the first night, many camps of the Federal Infantry were outright swarmed over, with many being ripped apart alive - faults owed mostly thanks to the unpreparedness of the Army’s punitive expedition in the area. The Airforce has been immediately requested. A hive of sorts seems to have emerged from Installation 0004, unwilling to be put down so easily - only Hieoromar knows what lurks within. Research Slot: Submachine Guns The concept of a portable, easy to use, automatic weapon, isn’t entirely unknown to the various R&D departments of the Continent, but the actual application of it seems to be having major design issues. Prototypes explode and malfunction left and right by the dozens, forcing many back to the drawing boards every year. Should be simple enough to miniaturize the current array of machine guns, but alas, it has eluded many. Perhaps some new thinking, more funds, more anything, may yield better results. [6 turns at current rate until any meaningful developments made] The Bantu baseZulwini Life is good for the Bantu people, left to their own devices in one of the most peaceful regions of the Old World - at least when the tripartite nations to the north aren’t waging total war on each other that is. Event: The Embassies of Varnyn and Reismark The Kingdom of Varnyn and Reismark warily accepts the Ambassadors of the Bantu people, noticeably concerned by their presence - most likely assuming they’re spying on them to give information to their adversaries. It seems likely as the years progress that war may break out between these three nations, each vying for the total dominance of their rival. Event: Expansion Expansion Expansion Though they must bring their own light, the Underway remains entirely operational, easily allowing the Bantu to cross over onto the other side of the Bay to establish their land claims in the area. Starting immediately, should it be desired, the Bantu may simply push its logistics through the Underway. Expansions which have brought the Holy See to bear, as they solidify the petty states around them. POI Investigation: Orbital Defense Installation - 0204 As the Cruiser and Destroyers fly over, it quickly becomes apparent that they have discovered another relic of the First Era. No part of the Old World is completed without its own designated orbital artillery emplacements, forever pointed towards the skies in anticipation. Perhaps it was constructed to defend the Domed City nearby, if so, it did well, as the Kingdom now lives within its hallowed halls. As it stands, the Bantu simply have no clue how to make any of it work, with the technology so arcane, so outlandish, that Installation might as well just be used for other military purposes such as storage and what not. Research Slot 1: The Voice of Heavens (Radio) Radios are not an entirely unknown concept of the Old World, as it was presumed that such a piece of technology was commonly used far back in history, by those of the First and Second Era. However, such technological knowledge has long since been lost. Most airships have simply defaulted to the utilization of morse codes, flags - or even telegrams, as granships can quickly deploy such connections between vessels should it be necessary. But, compared to their counterparts, the Bantu simply have more national infrastructure dedicated to the art of technological advancement, and a greater understanding of electromagnetic waves. Headways are already being made in the harnessing of this new field of technology [4 turns at current rate until any potential discovery is made] Research Slot 2: CONFIDENTIAL The Bound Constellation Ash falls like snow, Eleutheria remains hidden - a world oblivious to the occurrences of Achlys. Research Slot: PROJECT PRAT - REDACTED The Republic of Lannion Event: The Spire The group of soldiers begin their expedition, though already a few months in, they have yet reached the last known highest point. They are currently stopped in Station V, an ad-hoc settlement of adventurers seeking the top. Event: To the East, and Beyond The fleet proceeds with its flight to the new world, exorbitantly outfitted with the best there is to offer. However, it is within this wealth that Jacque Cartier was found dead, having been choked to death on a piece of rare meat lodged in his throat, a sad end to a man! Anyway, the exploration proceeds regardless, too much money has been spent to go back empty handed. Prime land is indeed found in the east, with these new lands seemingly plentiful in wildlife and other fauna, but trouble is immediately afoot. The large deployment of destroyers has seemingly attracted a fleet of airships. In the distance, bizarre airships close the distance, some of them the size of dreadnoughts, it is quickly noticed that this array of vessels are not friendly, making the Lannions retreat back to their homeland. Most of the money and resources is recyled back into service for the nation's use. [8000c in return] Research Slot: Redacted The Miraabi Confederation Event: THE KHAN, THE KHAN, THE KHAN The Great Qaya Khan has made his intention clear, petty tributes will no longer satisfy the Khanate. All will bow to the force that will conquer the Universe. Unfortunately for the Miraabi, the diplomat’s head is returned upon the thinly veiled gift of goodwill. Research Slot: The Wardens of Miraab The Great Wardens, forever dormant, remain dormant. No amount of investigation into the Wardens have revealed anything of note, simple effort will not suffice. Perhaps the Crusader State of Jena to the east may be of assistance, should the Miraabi be able to convince them.
