  3. Late in the day Kaelin makes a visit to the Leyulin library. Finding a tome on Mali'ame culture, he inserts a handwritten note into it. On the note is a transcription of the words of a funeral ritual passed down orally for generations, a memory of his early life amongst the Wood Elven nomads of Malinor's forests in Aegis. +~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+ Our lives are long but not eternal And twists of fate may end them before our time is done. Though we traveled the path together, our ways now part. Rest now under the boughs of the kina'ame, But know that the path is long and never-ending And our paths may meet again Beyond the veil of this life; Such is our hope and prayer. Aspects bless your path as they blessed it in life. Farewell, my departed kin. +~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+
  4. Goodbye to one of the finest fight animators to grace the internet. RIP Monty Oum.

  5. Kaelin sneers at the elf. "Those would be fine words if there was a drop of truth in any of them. You speak of genocide as if the concept were foreign to the Mali'aheral, yet your masters raise up Kalenz Uradir, slayer of children, as one of your favored sons? You want our leader, our fellow citizens as recompense for Mali'aheral madness, sending a lackey and not one of their own to deliver their pathetic ultimatum? I say to you clearly - come and take them from us."
  6. Kaelin returned from Fiandria, drained and more troubled than he was the night before. He had hoped that by showing the bodies of their dead respect and returning them the folk of Leyulin might earn at least the chance of dialogue - the prelude to understanding and peace. He had lain the bodies down before the forest with Glacio Nereus and his companion and performed for them the same reverence that marked the passing of a hunter of his family in centuries long passed. Commendations to the aspects were whispered and flowers laid upon their person. He had stopped short of burying them, leaving that for their real kin. He left them in peace and sat atop a small tree beneath Fiandria's mighty boughs - keeping vigil, to ward away the scavengers of the forest and to parley with the feral elves. After an hour of feeling eyes upon him, the Ferals made themselves known. One individual, a male of slender build and pale skin descended from the upper branches. His ears were longer than the haughtiest of High Elves and upon his head was a crown of bone. Words were spoken between the Dark Elf and the Feral. Kaelin expressed the folk of Leyulin's desire for peace and co-existence; the lord of the Ferals expressed the outrage of his. "Our Forest," spoke the savage elf, "Short Ears bring stone. Stone kills it." In pushing their walls south in expansion, the elves of Leyulin had angered the hidden folk of the great forest. Platitudes would not convince them of Wood Elf sincerity. In the end, Kaelin spoke plainly of the two futures that would could come to pass from this point on: Peace and the chance of co-existence or war and the full force of Leyulin brought to bear against the Feral Elves. To this, the lord of the Ferals had his mind made up - "We bring Fire and Sword." Both elves allowed each other to go in peace, Kaelin out of the hope for dialogue in future and the Feral perhaps out of respect for the returning of his slain kin. Kaelin did not doubt, however, that the next time a Feral Elf and an Elf of Leyulin meet it would end in blood.
  7. Can someone stick a face and some hair on this skin? http://i.imgur.com/Pj27EHU.png A young man, barely 20, shaven with short dark brown hair.

  8. I'd miss Arianne's plot line but to be honest it's not hugely consequential to the conflict over the throne. Certainly not intriguing as the stuff with Tyrion and his boat buddies.
  9. Undoubtedly some characters will be dropped (Ser Arys in Dorne and Quentin Martell probably, since they're the most irrelevant POV characters) but I don't think the trailer counts out Griff and Young Griff because they're not shown and Varys says Tyrion's going to see Daenerys - remember, in the books Tyrion was told he was heading to Slaver's Bay to ally with Daenerys. Nothing in the trailer contradicts the canon plot line from what I can tell.
  10. Gah, when humanise is the perfect word to use in RP you realise you're talking to a bunch of Elves.

  15. Is this mod still even being updated? Last time I played all 16 of my vassal dukes and counts all gave birth to 10 of my bastards on the same day - they were all men, and some of them were 4 years old. That's a hell of a bug.
  16. And so our merry hopes of a nice fight are dashed by people attacking people outside of the warclaim area thus invalidating the whole thing. GG.

  17. Joke all you want about 'Zarsies for gaylord admin', but Lord Administrator as a forum rank sounds badass. I hope it gets given to a conspiring druid soon.

  18. I thought I'd make a human again, so here I am. A very tall and bulky young man of about 19 or 20 with short dark hair done in no style save for convenience. Pale skin, darker around the cheeks for stubble, with blue eyes. Although he's not an inherently villainous fellow he has a mean look to him that's unavoidable due to his towering stature and stern countenance. Above all, keep in mind that he's a young man not a seasoned thug so no full beards or mean old scars. Clothing wise feel free to do whatever you like. He's been a field hand most of his life so he wouldn't be in fine clothing. Traveling clothes would be best probably. If you can also make them look somewhat ill-fitting due to his size that would be great - not essential but good if you can manage it. No reference images seem glaringly obvious but I'll look in the morning.
  19. On one of his forays into Leyulin looking for Art so that he might acquire a home in the town, Kaelin comes across a copy of this treatise in the tavern. Having heard talk of Ivory Order warriors leading a successful raid on the dark forces in Embermoore he arches his brow in a typical cliche elven fashion and reads the notice intently. "The Wardens... now there was an order to strike fear into the hearts of the dead and dark. If this new lot is taking after them and not the listless Sentinels of Malinor's later years I may just have to end up pitching my cart to them. I might as well do something worth a damn with my time."
  20. Are there any commonly known lotc plants used in basic medicine? AKA, medicinal herbs an elf from a family of hunters would know about to assist with healing?
