  1. Asgard Republic 2139 Leader - Chancellor Skadi Nielssen Population - 270,250 Humans --------- PBC NEWS - Asgard Public Broadcasting Corporation - Dispatches from the Frontier! Anchor: "Every day we at PBC news bring you the latest from Asgard's endeavours into space, science and beyond - today we bring you a very special report from our very own Torvi Arnesdottir, coming to you from Vanaheim - One Year On. Let's see how our first steps as a multi-planetary society are going!" ----- The scene cuts to a series of images from the bridge of the ARN Valkyrie II. Tense looking Asgarder crew members hurry around, floating across the zero-gravity control room from console to console. The view switches to the green and blue orb rapidly filling the view-screen and holo-displays. The scene fastforwards toward a turbulent atmospheric entry. Finally a patchy outer camera view catches the massive bulk of the Valkyrie II touching down in a jungle clearing on the edge of a small lake. The view switches again to jubilant crew members, now unsteadily walking on the now gravity-bound decking, and a transmission from the mission commander back to the homeworld. "Valkyrie II to Asgard. We have made planetfall on Vanaheim. Repeat, we have made planetfall on Vanaheim!" The view switches again to apparent present day. In view is the reporter, and behind her the Valkyrie II and an enclave of pre-fabricated structures and a landing field. Torvi Arnesdottir: "Those were the now famous scenes, just over one year ago, when the crew of the ARN Valkyrie II and the pioneers in her passenger cabins made landfall on this planet. Beginning a new chapter in Asgard's history. Since then the pioneers have made steady progress in establishing this world as yet another home for humanity." The camera shows drone footage of the lush jungles and river valleys of Vanaheim, including the local wildlife and plant species. One shot shows a team of Asgarders sunning themselves on a beach and swimming in the sea - a rare occurence on their relatively frigid homeworld, except in some parts of the equator. Another shot shows the Asgarder flag raised on a bluff overlooking the main colony site. "Since the first days, the early pioneers worked to ready the new colony for wide-scale habitation. While the skeleton crew that arrived here could live off Valkyrie II's resources and supply drops from out-system indefinitely, to ensure quality of life for an expanding population resources and infrastructure needed to be put in place." Shots show the construction of a filtration system, the construction of solar panel arrays and the attachment of the Valkyie II's fusion reactor to the main power grid. "A year on, the settlers of Vanaheim have had many new experiences. Although mirroring our settlement of frozen Asgard some 30 years ago, the humid and lush environment has proven its own challenge. Early in the expedition, all of Asgard mourned the death of Karl Larssen - the first child born on Asgard, and a member of the pioneer team - to an disease that swept through the colony. With stringent quarantine procedures and medical aid from Asgard and the wider human galactic community, further casualties were minimal and comprehensive vaccination programs enacted to limit further adverse reactions to the environment. But as tragedy struck, so too did the colonists have reason to celebrate." Footage switches to home video images of a young couple expecting a baby, then on to labour screams and then the cries of a newborn baby. "Surpassing expectations on colony growth, the first child on Vanaheim was born only 9 months after planetfall (and the planetfall inaugural celebrations...), a baby girl named Ali - daughter of exo-botanists Vendella and Martin Anders. Ali was closely followed by a number of other births, jokingly referred to by the colonists as the "Planetfall Baby Boom" - a similar phenomenon was recorded in the first years of Asgard's settlement." Footage shows ships arriving and landing on Asgard, as well as a timelapse of the expansion of the original settlement and the spread of additional outposts to areas nearby. Robotic workers are shown clearing away sections of dense vegetation for agriculture and construction. "With the initial groundwork layed, the Colonial Authority has worked to fast-track migration permits for citizens looking to settle on this lush new world. It's hoped that in the coming years Vanaheim will become an equal partner to Asgard in our Republic, with debates currently underway in the Assembly and Civil Council on how best to represent the new territory in our democracy." The view turns to show a space station under construction in orbit and several Asgard Republican Navy warping in to orbit. A view from the surface also seems to show the construction of some sort of military installation. "Many originally expressed concern on how we would protect such a far flung territory, given the current turbulent state of the galaxy. As military officials have informed us, Vanaheim will play host to a number of ground forces - bolstering the pre-existing security personnel - and a section of the navy. Vanaheim is also close enough to Asgard that reinforcements can quickly be brought to bare in the face of a hostile incursion." "Despite these visible defensive precautions, the mood here is optimistic. It's a new world full of possibilities - much of the planet has yet to have detailed surveys or manned exploration, leading for many to hope for a gold rush similar to the asteroid scramble several years ago. But for most it's a fresh start, a chance to be pioneers on a new alien world. And while there's still plenty of places still to settle and discover on Asgard, for those born after Asgard planetfall it's a chance to connect with their parents' generation and the triumphs and hardships they endured to make a home for themselves on a new world. Torvi Arnesdottir, PBC News." --------- COLONIES: Asgard (Asgard Sector) Muspel (Asgard Sector) Vanaheim (Vanaheim Sector) SPACE ASSETS: Shipyard L3 - Asgard SPACE FORCES: 1 x Destroyer 1 x Frigate 2 x Corvette 100 x Strike Craft GROUND FORCES: 10,000 x Regular Infantry (Standing and Reserves) 500 x Hunter Bots 50 x Tank Bots TECH: Starting Techs Warp Drive Quantum Comms Military Bots (Solarin Federation) Itoron Exploitation Basic Deflector Shields (Hephaestus) TRADE: Solarin Federation Lithruan Coalition (4 nations) GTFO/GTC Han Dominion United States of Arcturus --------- ACTIONS - AP Pool: 6 Base: 4 Trade: +2 1AP - While colonisation continues on Vanaheim, infrastructure and defensive concerns are addressed by the government. To ease with commerce, trade and supply, the government constructs a civilian authority space station in orbit around the jungle planet. While nowhere near the size and scale of Asgard Station, and totally lacking in shipyard faculties, Vanaheim Station is nevertheless the first port of call for ships arriving at Vanaheim. Militarily speaking Vanaheim isn't that far away from Asgard at warp speed, but the possibility of a lightning raid is alarming - to aid in the defense of the colony a military base is established a short distance away from the colony, built largely underground into a large hill and garrisoned with a contingent of regular soldiers and dropships for rapid response to trouble spots in the event on a ground invasion. It wouldn't do much against a determined aggressor, but it's a foundation for a planetary defense effort. 0AP - 2 corvettes and the newly built frigate are assigned to the Vanaheim system. This is primarily a show of force, as their standing orders are to avoid overwhelming hostile forces until reinforcements can arrive, but it should nonetheless serve as a deterrent to hostile elements and a comfort to those on the ground fearful of being so far from home. 0AP - 500 regular soldiers, 200 Hunter bots and 50 tank bots are deployed from Asgard to the base on Vanaheim. 1AP - State investment in industry continues. (5 AP total, counting this). 1AP - Detailed sensor and manned surveys of planet Vanaheim commence, aiming to discover anything of value or interest that the initial probe surveys of the system failed to reveal. 1AP - Research continues on Asgard's military suit technology. Special attention is paid on how to make the jump-jet functionality more practical. 2AP - Two corvettes enter parallel construction at Asgard Station.

As an apology for this, and a sign of friendship they have gifted basic deflector technology to Asgard. 0AP - In addition to ongoing Itoron upgrades on the modest Asgarder Navy, efforts are made to retrofit the existing ships and fighters with basic deflectors. 1AP - The colony ship ARN Valkyrie II is dispatched at warp to the jungle world discovered in the sector to the galactic east of Asgard with enough crew and materiel to start a modest colony on the surface in advance of more extensive settlement, with the ship capable of landing and serving as a base. The colony is named Vanaheim, and Asgard announces to its galactic contacts that it has laid claim to the sector. 1AP - State investment in industry continues. (4 AP total, counting this). 1AP - Research begins into adapting the military bot designs gained from the Solarin Federation into civilian models - robotic miners, farmers, unmanned heavy lifters and the like. These are designed to allow faster establishment of new settlements, more intensive agriculture in Asgard's sparsely populated fertile lands, and mining in the unsafe environs of the volcanic yet Itoron-rich moon colony of Muspel. 1AP - Existing Asgard military suits are little more than advanced cold weather gear, featuring heating systems and basic armour. Research priorities turn toward improving this, seeking to create a new all-purpose suit for combat and exploration across numerous environments - possibly including space at some later point in development. Research into perfecting this hostile environment suit starts with attempting to integrate jump-jet technology into them. The reaction thrusters of space vehicles are an obvious inspiration, as are Asgard's pre-existing hover technology. The aim is to create a lightweight, agile Hostile Environment Suit for exploration and combat use that is capable of using jump-jets for short-range flight and the scaling of obstacles. ((Think the suits from ME: Andromeda)). 2AP - Construction begins on a frigate, armoured with Itoron alloy and the new shield technology.

  4. Asgard Republic 2137 Leader - Chancellor Skadi Nielssen Population - 240,500 Humans --------- ((Again, apologies for the lack of RP post. ((Number produced as proof-of-concept groups are up to Mod decision)). 1AP - State investment in industry continues. Techniques and methods observed from trade partners are used to further develop (3 AP total, counting this). 1AP - Itoron mining and research continues. Now that techniques have been developed to manipulate this fascinating material, research priorities in this arena are shifted more toward its applications. Armour and construction as givens, numerous experimental projects are given funding as "fishing expeditions" to discover less obvious uses for Itoron, OR perhaps ways of increasing efficiency and performance. 3AP - Construction begins on a vessel several magnitudes larger than the corvettes previously produced in Asgard Station's shipyard bays. After refitting the smaller bays for something of this scale, work begins on an ITORON/STEEL ALLOY-CLADDED DESTROYER. Now relatively confident in their naval construction capabilities after building and receiving test feedback from the corvettes and fighters, the Asgarder engineers get stuck in. 0AP - Work begins in drive-yards not taken up with work on the experimental new destroyer to REFIT the hulls of the existing military vessels (2 corvettes and 100 fighters) with ITORON/STEEL ALLOY. 0AP - Warp capable probes are dispatched to the sector to galactic east of Asgard's system in search of useful materials and habitable worlds. The probes are designed to self-destruct if Karass or Kalronian contacts are detected, have acquired the basic sensor readouts of Kalronian and Karass technology from trade partners, in order to prevent either of these expansionist and dangerous powers from learning of the small Republic's existence. 0AP - The colony on volcanic Muspel is for now barely 500 people strong, consisting of Itoron miners and scientists living in biodomes and habitats on the stable areas of the "geologically lively" moon. As of yet, no families live there, with the long-haul inhabitants living a life-style resembling that in polar mining and research stations on Asgard, or even long-gone Earth. Perhaps people would start new lives on the mineral rich world one day, but for now it only attracts a transient population. Some of the engineers working on the Military Bot designs acquired from the Solarins have also moved to Muspel to test the performance of these drones in a low-gravity environment, with some of them thinking of adapting the design into a type of robotic miner... 0AP - Foreign visitors to Asgard are in general only permitted onto Asgard Station to do business. As well as acting as a shipyard and point of transfer between the planet surface and space, Asgard Station becomes a relatively cosmopolitan place. Work is undertaken to adapt sections of it into space for permanent habitation, commerce and trade. Trade partners are permitted embassies and trade offices on the station, although there are areas of the station (such as the military dockyards and station operations areas) that are tightly restricted - trespassing is punishable by deportation or an extended stay in the newly built brig. 0AP - Surface permits are less common, and for now appear to be reserved for selected state diplomats and Solarin scientists. All others must be content to do business with Asgard from the orbiting Asgard Station - for now at least. 0AP - With closer relations with the Solarin Federation, Solarin science teams and experts on the Firstborn are "allowed" by Valhalla's "somewhat obnoxious" research institutes to study the Firstborn city that is partially inhabited by Asgard's capital city. Of particular interest is the Solarin's knowledge of the firstborn (apparently known as "Saryn") language. The hope is that this pooling of knowledge between Asgard and the Solarins will aid in understanding more about the society and culture of these enigmatic precursors, if the technological secrets of the ancients are beyond current science and archaeological delving. 0AP - Asgard seeks to open trade relations with HEPHAESTUS ENTERPRISES. ((RP NEEDED WITH MITH)). 0AP - Contact is requested with the GANVIUS. The subject? Kalronians. ((MOD ENCOUNTER REQUESTED)).

Regular privately owned ships connect the new resource colony with Asgard, on the other side of the system. The colony ship ARN Valkyrie II is retained, as its fuel reserves and resources are minimally effected by this short trip. It remains available for extra-solar colonisation. 0AP - Full trade relations established with the SOLARIN FEDERATION. 0AP - Full trade relations SOUGHT with the ((Whatever the hell the TRIALITION is called nowadays)).
  6. Asgard Republic 2135 Leader - Chancellor Skadi Nielssen Population - 218,500 Humans --------- 2134 was a momentous year for the people of Asgard. Not only did they reconnect with their Human brethren but also made contact with a living alien civilization. Although jubilant at no longer being alone in the universe, this joy was soon replaced by unease - war was rampant in the southern galaxy, and star charts and dossiers procured from diplomacy with the Trialiation and USA showed that they were in the immediate vicinity of two expansionist alien empires. Meetings of the Civil Council, the upper house of the Republic (twinned with the Assembly) and the Chancellor and her cabinet were animated - to put it mildly: "Not only did the Chancellor purposefully take it upon her administration ALONE to compose the messages of contact with these outside powers, but she did so in the knowledge that Asgard's ENTIRE future rested on the outcomes of these negotiations!" So spoke Councillor Thor Persson, a usually staunch ally of the current Chancellor (particularly for her and her father's development grants toward urbanisation in the equator). "Councillors, no-one doubts that the administration did its best in an unprecedented situation. The Hermes program was intended to make contact with our brethren on Alpha Centauri, and instead we find ourselves a small fish in a massive pond surrounded by sharks - sharks both Human and alien! It is by no means xenophobic to say, given the information coming out of the wider galaxy, that surely a more conservative and cautious approach toward our relations with foreign powers would have been the safer course of action. Instead, Chancellor Nielssen has announced that diplomatic efforts have been engaged with the powers of the galaxy! Likely including the very powers that the Security Council has designated as clear and present dangers - the Kalronians and the Karass - not only to our sovereignty but to our very lives. The Kalronians are described in the outside news excerpts we have obtained as, to put it mildly 'fanatically genocidal butchers'. The Karass are an imperialist kingdom whose core territories are in open revolt due to their enslavement of alien species. These are not powers that one tangles with lightly, let alone provides with detailed instructions on where you live." Persson rounded on the Chancellor. The concern was clear in his eyes. This wasn't a political ploy - Thor was genuinely afraid. "Chancellor Nielssen. As a friend to you and your father for all our time on this planet, I beg of you to explain these actions." Skadi Nielssen, a tall, slim woman in her early 40s, ascends the Chancellor's dais. "Councillor I thank you, sincerely for your concerns. Seven years ago, when the Hermes probes were launched to the edge of our solar system, we had no idea what awaited us in the void. We expected to make contact with our fellow man, but instead have found ourselves in a vibrant and dangerous galaxy. We are, as you said, a small fish in a pond of sharks. But isolationism is not the answer. By keeping ourselves cut off we only delay the inevitable. I will not allow Asgard to become a hermit kingdom, secure in its bubble but soon conquered by covetous neighbours. There is a saying - the surest way to destroy an enemy is to make them your friend. I don't know if that will be entirely possible with all we will meet amongst the stars. Therefore, our policy will be the following - talk softly but carry a big stick. Right now, we are an isolated, easy target. We will gain allies, and we will not look for enemies if we can help it. But there is another saying - if you wish for peace, prepare for war. That is what this administration is doing. In the coming days, we intend to rebuild our security forces and territorial militias into an organised defensive force. Furthermore, military and industrial investment will increase. We will not go looking for enemies. The powers you mentioned, Councillor, the Kalronians and Karass, will not be contacted. If they seek diplomacy, we will answer - but we will not make hostile neighbours aware of us sooner than we are ready for them." --------- COLONIES: Asgard ASSETS: Shipyard L3 - Asgard 1 x Colony Ship 1 x Corvette TECH: Starting Techs Warp Drive Quantum Comms --------- ACTIONS - AP Pool: 4 1AP - Due to the apparently endemic warfare in the southern galaxy and the presence of two expansionist powers in their immediate vicinity, the Asgarder military undergoes a massive reform and overhaul. The ersatz militia and security forces are supplanted by the Armed Forces of Asgard, an organised military force incompassing ground and atmospheric air warfare. The initial recruitment target is set at 10,000 active duty personnel and 30,000 more trained as reserves in the event of an alien invasion or total war. 1AP - State investment in industry, particularly space mining, heavy industry and ship construction is increased dramatically. In order to catch up, economically and militarily, with their galactic neighbours, the Asgarders would need a solid industrial base to do so. 1AP - Research priorities are shifted toward the exploitation of the dense black mineral found on several bodies throughout their system. Early attempts at mining it with traditional lasers has proven futile, so experiments begin on how to actually get the damn stuff out of the ground. 1AP - Adapting their cold-weather flier design with relative ease for use in the vaccuum of space, the Asgarders begin construction of 100 strikecraft. They will be used militarily and to assist with and police in-system civilian and commercial activity. 0AP - The colony ship ARN Valkyrie II is refitted and dispatched to the volcanically active moon of Muspel, a rocky Io sized moon of the red gas giant Jotunn. There it drops biodome architecture for an industrial colony to mine Muspel's abundant deposits of the dense black mineral - assuming they can ever figure out how to do so. If not, the planetoid's deposits of more conventional minerals will make the endeavour worthwhile. ((MOD ACTION: PLEASE DECIDE HOW MANY COLONISTS MUSPEL GETS TO START WITH.)) 0AP - Following first contact with the Trialition and United States of Arcturus in quick succession, diplomatic overtures are made to all remaining powers WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE KALRONIANS, KARASS AND CORRUPTORS. Messages of kinship and fraternity are conveyed to the Human nations as well as the potential for trade and cultural contact. 0AP - Asgard applies for membership in the GTC.
  7. Asgard Republic Leader - Chancellor Skadi Nielssen Population - 207,500 Humans --------- From humble beginnings, the people who survived the crash of the Valkyrie and sought sanctuary in the ruined city of Valhalla have established a thriving society on their frigid homeworld. People now longer huddle in the ancient city of Valhalla but have spread out into their new world. Engimatic Valhallan architecture is emulated by newer human developments at the underground city's entrance. The equator, once a far-off goal, is now populated. People are spread out, with semi-autonomous communes and homesteaders occupying many of the fertiles valleys, plains and forests, but cleanly planned and purpose built cities funded by the government have been established for those who want the comforts of urban life without the freezing weather of the hemisphere-spanning poles. Even the arctic regions are seeing settlement, with half-buried mining bases being dug into the above-ice mountains to extract materials necessary for modern technological necessities like rare-earth elements. Many of the largest settlements, especially those around the equator are connected by a network of trains and hyperloops for rapid transit through the treacherous climates further away from the equatorial zone, but those that aren't are in easy reach through reliable cold-weather aircraft and hover-vehicles. Asgard is being tamed - now the attention of its people turns skyward. It was the dawn of the Second Space Age. 23 years ago the colony ship Valkyrie had descended through the storm clouds of Asgard, never to rise again. Now, the hardy pioneers of that ship and their children are preparing to step into the stars once more. With blood, sweat and tears, and more than a little help from the technology of their ancient capital, Valhalla, the people of the Asgard Republic have completed "Asgard Station", a vast orbital complex and a beach-head for the fledgling nation in expanding their influence and economy to the rest of their solar system and beyond. The government, under Chancellor Skadi Nielssen's administration and those before it, is spearheading the push into space. With little to no private companies willing to help shoulder the burden of expanding Human influence into the wider solar system it falls to the government, and the scientific institutions that influence it, to lead the charge. Some years ago, at great expense, a prototype vessel based on the Valkyrie (poetically named "Phoenix") was launched into orbit after construction on the ground by an engineering team. The idea of the fallen vessel once more ascending to the stars struck a chord with Asgarders, those born on Earth and those not. The groundswell of popular support has enabled Asgard to make great strides in a short period of time, culminating in the construction of Asgard Station so that vessels may be more cheaply constructed and the potential of the solar system more easily transferred planet side for exploitation. The people of Asgard are ready to make their next steps into the future. --------- COLONIES: Asgard ASSETS: Shipyard L3 - Asgard 1 x Colony Ship TECH: Starting Techs Warp Drive Quantum Comms --------- ACTIONS - AP Pool: 4 1AP - Construction begins in Asgard Station's shipyard section on the Asgard Republic's first orbit-constructed space vessel, a CORVETTE. 2AP - Survey Probes are dispatched en-masse across the Asgard System, dispatched toward the 5 other planets of the system and its various moons, asteroid belts and comets. They search for interesting anomalies and useful resources that have not been spotted by previous surveys in the last 23 years. This includes a detailed, penetrating sensor survey of Asgard's hemisphere-spanning ice-sheets - making use of Asgard Station's sensor array. 1AP - Research focuses on improving the Republic's spaceflight technology, taking advantage of the Firstborn tech they have encountered. The scientists may be generations from replicating the (admittedly fragmentary) technology of Valhalla, but they can at least use it to inspire new avenues of enquiry. 0AP - A formal greeting and request for contact is sent toward Alpha Centauri, the original destination of the colony fleet that left Earth, via quantum comms. The hope is that, relayed through Asgard Station's powerful sensor array and a probe launched on rudimentary sub-light rockets toward the system-edge decades ago, the message will reach the rest of Humanity. Previous attempts at locating their sister-ships over the years has failed.

  9. OOC: Username: samoblivion Skype: You have it Ideas and Suggestions?: Not really. Keep doing what you're doing. RP: Colony Name: Asgard Republic First Planet Type: Asgard, a mostly arctic planet with a temperate green equatorial band with a climate similar to northern Europe. Currently experiencing a prolonged ice age. History: Populated by people of all backgrounds but featuring large numbers from Scandinavian countries, the UN colony ship Valkyrie was emerged from the disastrous jump in orbit of the icy world they christened "Asgard". Upon attempting to land their stricken vessel, the colonists ran afoul of a lightning storm caused by a reaction between their thrusters and storm clouds in the upper atmosphere. Casualties were sustained and an emergency landing had to be made several hundred kilometres from the habitable narrow equatorial band in the blizzard-ridden and frigid northern hemisphere, atop a glacier of unknown stability. Their situation was dire. Life support aboard the Valkyrie was failing, with not enough power and resources to sustain both the colonists in cryo sleep and those already awake. Shuttles were rendered inoperable by the freezing temperatures and gale-force storms outside - evidence of a planet in the grip of a severe ice age. Desperate expeditions were dispatched in rovers to secure a safe route south to the habitable zone while those left aboard the Valkyrie bided their time and nursed their resources. One such expedition made a remarkable discovery - an ancient technologically advanced city, half underground and half consumed by the ice. To their great fortune, this alien habitat had a working life support system and enough space to be easily adapted into living quarters. They named it Valhalla. Over the next few months, colonists and materials were moved from the Valkyrie to Valhalla - being an essentially ready made settlement with technological potential millenia in advance of human science it made a much more attractive location than the several days of dangerous navigating to the equator. Much of it remained buried in the ice or crushed by the march of the glacier, but what remained was maintained by a structural integrity field apparently designed to protect against the very ice ages that Asgard was now experiencing - although thousands (or possibly millions) of years of constant operation had degraded it considerably, leading to the ruination of large sections of the city. The Humans marvelled at their new home and gained a deep respect reverence for those who had built it, whomever they were. Nearly 30 years have passed since the settlement of Asgard. Though nominally a representative democracy, the Asgard Republic is heavily influenced by the remnants of the pioneer security force and the scientific institutes that study the technology of Valhalla. From reverse engineering of ancient technology in Valhalla and more mundane innovation, the people of Asgard have established colonies not just in the fallen city but in the equator and beyond in the frigid poles - their technology advancing at a steady yet remarkable rate through inspirations gained from absurdly advanced alien designs that humans can barely grasp the underlying concepts of. The most useful ones have been advanced cold weather flight vehicles and anti-grav hovercraft for quick traversal of the treacherous climate outside the equator. In the last decade the Asgardians have returned to the stars, constructing a large space station in orbit and preparing for more intensive extra-solar exploration beyond rudimentary probing of their system's other planets. Unbeknowst to the populace at large, the Asgard government's experiments in quantum communication and advanced astronomy have revealed intensive sentient activity throughout the galaxy. Whether these signals come from their fellow Humans, alien powers, or even the esteemed builders of Valhalla they do not know. Map location: Don't have the time or knowledge to fill out an unoccupied square, so anywhere, I leave it up to you Zero.

Now their perseverence had been rewarded, but they had been denied a prize for their victory. She was reminded of words she had exchanged with Ser Leopold at the peace conference before the start of the war on Tahn. She asked him if he would accept the terms of defeat and deliver himself into bondage, as Oren would have had of the Orcs. "No. Like you, I would fight to the bitter end." Philip Frederick had silently shared his man's sentiment, and evidently kept those words close as Oren's eleventh hour came and went. Lukra turned her rhino eastward. "Nuthin more tu peep here, Lohkar. For now, id'z ovur."
  20. Lukra laughs "Zo Drokon literalleh needz azh kourt-order tu ged da Warmiztrezz tu zkah him den?" . She suddenly remembers that she's one of the only ferocs of any sort of rank in Krugmar. "Zkah. Mi got optionz."
