ID thing is just a point to provide people that wanting desire for "control" when they don't have any and never have, an expensive one as well that'd require a whole ToS rewrite and a subscription service costing no less than $600/mo for the server given there's on average 300 apps per month, and every ID check by company third party is $2 doable with a patreon, not doable off of VIP. but again, just an example to let people feel like they're in control, and not entirely necessary

think you got "raising the minimum age" mixed up. it's been very clearly outlined that they could re-apply later everyone here is just regurgitating the same things that've been said every single time it's happened since the server's inception. your fix is not rattling the same chain. they've heard it a thousand times. your options are a minimum age change or a server shutdown for near-total protection of these players at risk. let me throw a fast-ball like you have by insinuating the idea is to "ban groomed victims": by keeping younger people around, what are you doing it for? using them as bait to lure out the predatory people so they can be removed? pretty awful to think about. but no of course, you don't mean it that way the same way we don't mean to "ban groomed victims". it's non-sensical to think in these emotionally-charged ways regarding such serious cases as these, and the most effective solution is what i've already preached. it's not like minecraft rp is productive to the life of a developing teenager anyway, speaking from personal experience as an adult, and i think many other adults here would agree

idk, i've been in crps where it'd be very very good to use in application- did a dungeon crawl st event months back that took a total of 18 hours of rp/crp to complete, and recently some others half as long. i'm not sure how to make it not good in combat, or maybe it should be good with an ST signature- perhaps make two quantities, a 20ml flask and a larger bottle that can be consumed for different effects; non-combat and combat. it's just hard to argue it can't be used in combat, soldiers irl drink energy drinks before heading out just about every time when available liquid ice is fine tho yea, just felt like cramming raw athins in a chest would have the same result, but a bottle is a lil more flavorful so thats fair

energy potion seems a bit overpowered when coupled with melee combat of any kind as it states "little to no fatigue" would effect them for 18 narrative hours. personally if someone handed me this i'd be using it in combat to have unstoppable energy. i'd make it ST-signed if it stays that way ice water bottle seems incredibly useless but ig it could cool food gold salve is alright

idk if you even read what i suggested if you're implicating doxxing, there are mediums with which organizations utilize to handle these things lol. it's not even expensive. again as per usual patreon would be a great help. pipedream tho everyone: "fix the pedo problem" anyone: "ok 16/18+ only server" everyone under 18: "wait no not like that i want my blockman rp!!!!" > server proceeds to continue on its same trajectory and never changes if you expect a safety team to work like it didn't work the last time, or if you expect the admin team's process to become any more productive, you're out of luck. nobody is going to like the 16-18+ only limitation. it's the nuclear option. unfortunately it also appears to be the only feasible option aside from shutting the server down for a near-100% success rate at solving this ordeal.

what's your grand solution then since the "just ban pedos" idea hasn't worked since the server's inception? hire a team of professional private investigators? with what money?

that's exactly how it should be handled again as i've said before, there's many RP communities where ID enforcement is followed to guarantee the safety of the players therein. it's not just groomers and pedophiles that you need to protect minors from as well -- there are many things on this server worth protecting from. gore rp is a strangely common theme i've crossed that has been played by both staff and player to express incredibly descriptive moments of death or injury, torture, etc irp, and for no reason. i don't believe anyone under 18 should be subject to that type of rp, and i don't really believe people over 18 should be either; it's even protected against in the rules, yet it's done anyways. there's very grotesque, dark roleplay all around that's accepted without any mention in the rules -- suicide, homocide with extreme complexity behind it to disturbing lengths, mental illness, drugs, disease, and what i can only describe as "filth" so i don't have to describe it, i've all seen on the server and in some cases it's been prolific. none of that is PG-13 or less. it's all a rated R/M content level. even the youngest age you can apply at is (iirc) 13 with parental permission, and 14+ is all liable to just if you say you're that age. who the hell knows their actual age, what if they're 10, 11, 12? full disclosure back when i applied in 2013, 5 of the friends i applied with lied about their age to meet the minimum requirements, and some of them got on the staff teams including GM management and even went up for a Admin, despite being under the minimum age requirement. meanwhile GMs today are handling some pretty explicit reports sometimes. you can't do that with ID enforcement unless you've a fake ID, and if you're caught, sorry but that's illegal and the staff can do whatever they want per what the ToS dictates at that point. i support the nuclear option of 18+. everyone complains that it's "victim shaming" -- no, it's for your protection from these themes of RP that staff have failed to interdict and shut-down; and it's not always because they dropped the ball and didn't make the right decision, it's because a lot of these things i've mentioned are impossible to regulate without reporting it. they'd never know. players under the minimum require if a change like that happened should and would be allowed to re-apply once they turn 18 and have an ID to verify that as authentic. "but if i ID myself i can get doxxed" dunno what to tell you on that. the ToS can be written in ways to protect your precious ID card that literally anyone and their mother can request from you at stores, gas stations, restaurants, bars, clubs, before denying you entry/sales/purchases. if you feel like staff would abuse that, don't supply it and don't play, simple as. that's your right. there's secure companies that act as verification mediums for things like this lol. (man if only lotc could open a patreon to fund something like that + its devs) it's like showing your ID before riding a roller-coaster limited to certain ages for safety reasons. they'd rather not have a guy check your height and weight and maybe offend you for doing it, they'd rather give a glance and check your DoB instead for efficiency. if the server can't protect its players, it's maybe a better idea to shut down for those concerns, and so i find the nuclear option or the shutdown option the best two solutions to every problem
