  1. Good conflict will never come from a server with four hubs to selectively avoid bandits at and large safe zones to help you selectively walk around them. Almaris map design is garbage
  2. Whatever idea @Caelria pitches, please do it.
  3. Haskir takes hold of the missive, peering over it with squinted eyes and knitted brows. "What a hot take. Except, I don't care!" He balls up the paper before slam-dunking it into the nearby trashcan, and he leans back to crack open his Monster for a long, noisy sip.
  4. ORDAINED HERALDRY FIXES ⬦ The following lore item will be changed: ⬦ The following lore item will be changed: These changes have been made to clarify various issues in the lore. In addition, the adding of shrines in which to learn spells has been added to help Heralds of Azdromoth who have no attachment to any group learn the available abilities. To be very specific, these shrines are not to act as a lazier method of teaching, but to instead extend the arsenal we have in which to carry out proper RP. As stated in the addition, ST are welcome to investigate any instance of abuse with these shrines, and I highly encourage this if there is any doubt. As well, this helps to process individuals in their Um'Ei trials, and provides areas in which to explore and interact. I had already added these into the server around Almaris with prior approval, but the teaching method was recently denied despite being listed in the lore guide as a viable method. Given these are not Self-Teach Altars as only Ordained Heralds may utilize them, these should not necessarily be treated in the same way. Hopefully this amendment can be used to clean up the issue. As well, I have fixed a discrepancy where heraldry is incompatible with all dark magics, when blood magic in Zarsies' lore states Heralds can be compatible users. We didn't feel that a one-slot magic should be making a once-neutral magic incompatible. I've also redlined the draan-binding of thanhium for obvious reasons, and also attempted to make it less of a chore for both ST and the player to bind various Voidally-enchanted items, as I have seen a large number of heralds find difficulty in binding Voidally-enchanted items due to MArt requirements. We don't feel that draan binding is a significant enough enchant to necessitate 20+ people submitting MArts for what is effectively an invisible scabbard, and so my hope is to clear up this issue with the redline. If I've missed anything, let me know! Thank you! EDIT: Removed self-teaching of spells after discussion with ST.
  5. "How stupid of them again," Haskir aridly drawls, shaking his head, "To banish the only elf in elvendom who could save them from themselves. The only elf of ten who opposed me and my men and protected the Sohaer in his capture." He scoffs, "The only Haelun'orian elf alive deserving of respect is Orinmon, for Haelun'or would have stopped breathing without him."
  6. The results of this post are catastrophic
  7. is this a work-around way to tell your TA "please drop me"
  8. You would know it better than anyone else how to figure out what's common or not by using alts, DreamInSpace. Don't act like it's isolated to just me, there are plenty of people that commented in this thread who are treated exactly the same.
  9. Please don't encourage me to post more logs. There were plenty enough unfairly toxic comments said towards Tayto in that Discord when she tried to defend the author of this thread. Leave it as it is -- and it doesn't matter if you weren't serious or not, you said it at all and that's what is important. Closed-gate policies destroy the server and kill settlements slowly and brutally. Your nation has a banishment system much more convoluted than any other nation's, and specific no-tolerance policies for many people who could otherwise come and RP. Sure, RP is RP, but these things are exactly what inevitably separates settlements from nations by way of force through activity checks. When a gate is closed, you have to rely on a Discord ping. That ping isn't always answered. I've been AFKing by the gate in your settlement for about two-ish weeks, and about 4/5 players don't get in and walk away for 75% of the day, and during the remaining 25% about 2/3 players don't get in. It also has to be understood that not everyone is in the Druid Discord, because the only benefit you gain from being in there is an empty guest channel and a gate ping role. It just takes up space on your Discord server directory if you're not actively a seeker of dedicancy. Anyways, refer to @Caelria's post as it describes the problem in further detail:
  10. Will do. There's a lot of things that've been said in the Druidic Order Discord that are beyond malignant, very biased, and extremely ill-informed. Just a commonly-known and spoken average is six months, and I can only typically name Arch-Druids that have had a length of time under five months reflectively through their application dates. They can be sealed in many ways if the RP is right. A druid can't close them outright, but they can make people close them -- or find other avenues which do exist. All-in-all, I sincerely don't believe the druidic community will improve from discussion. It can really only take time or intervention by staff, and that's really it. I'll shoot you a message tho.
  11. I wish the druid community could just get a big fat Thanos snap wipe like other magics have, and get some self-teach altars. It'd eliminate the upper echelon hugbox of authority controlling the entire magic with as many gates and gate policies as their settlements. Druidism is as big as Void magic, and it should be treated the same due to its size and presence -- and it's simply an antithetical area to Void magic anyhow, capable of undoing corruption, and the players tend to be extremely anti-void on their characters too. I've only had a positive experience with rogue druids and (sometimes) the Father Circle, but that's typically only been in interactions with the NLs and only the NLs. Funny enough when logged onto other accounts, the Mother Circle provides positive interactions for me ... it's almost like a username holds some significant weight when regarding a reputation of antagonist anti-druid RP. They won't want you around if you're one of the names in their Discord they reserve headspace for with multi-page logs in the search bars. I can't think of a better phrase other than "drain the swamp" when I think of how to fix the druidism community. It already takes six months to complete dedicancy unless you know a green-tag and give them an under-the-table something-or-other. You can see it first-hand with who (some, certainly not all) of the main druids are now, their application time gaps, and who they interact with. Cut-and-dry it's favoritism and bias. I just wonder when I'll lose attunement on the alt after they find out who I really am. The magic of Druidism is one of the cooler things on LotC and it could really be used aggressively to combat a lot of the other running-wild magics across the universe we play in, but in the hands of the current players, it'll be slice-of-life interactions with a maybe-maybe-maybe eco-terror action taken out against another magic community. I'd love to see it more frequently -- and it does happen -- but it doesn't happen enough, and it's because of the bad examples at the top. This is the problem with the druid community. Simple as. It took me and the boys two days to break in, and Werew0lf with his lads blew the city apart with PRO permission. I think the druids could pull it off -- and don't get me wrong, of course there's the OOC level given the PRO perms -- but if you ask Story Team I without a doubt believe if the Druids tried to turn off their voidal tear it'd happen. After all, the PRO consented to the bad outcomes for his city when he approved the tear's creation -- therefore he is liable for all damages that follow thereafter. That's what I was told. Likewise now, you're more than allowed to go to the remnant corruption and try to purge it. Kind of like how I've gone to both Mother and Father circle to inform of Vasiyeva getting necro-corrupted by [redacted] necromancers for the past month, but nothing happened -- and now the city is torched as a result.
  12. i have only ever witnessed one varg, and it was grim's. it was terrifying. @Valannor was there and can attest; but it was like a big foot sighting. nobody should believe me. in fact, it never happened.
  13. this would therefore affect a dratho-zha enchantment despite not directly purging the rune nor destroying the enchanted object correct? stfu...

  16. quite a lot of information from the top! o.0 how'd that get there? but all true and explanatory for the failure that is almaris. revert to arcas plz caelria ban in t-minus 10... edit: Almaris is probably one of my least enjoyed maps of all time on LotC. It's too big, it doesn't feel real, most trees are titanic, not enough unique custom biomes but the ones we do have are way too large, hub system is complete trash, CT is horrific and isn't even an RP hub just a HyPixel lobby, cities are too unregulated and colossal with RP spread so thin you might as well be starring in I Am Legend, too many cities, no freebuild area, roads/horses only got better after an entire year in, the dynamap is 4-5+ months ancient and staff laugh about it right now but new players are led to the wrong locations, nodes suck, nations have like 902029130 billion unregulated vassals spreading rp out even more while 90% of these vassals die 3 weeks in leaving a huge ghost town (vasiyeva/stygian hollow and all of sutica's remaining remnant builds Savoy is forced to knock down by hand which creates huge temporary world scars) I have invited several people to play on this server and they have quit in the first week/month due to the above issues. Can we just have an Athera again? That was the best map we've ever had for RP hands down.
  17. yo post the good bounty threads as examples (mine) (i want rep) +1 tho
