I don't know, I think activity is more important. It's the life blood of the server and also a positive feed back. What do you think is more appealing to a new comer? Personally, the reason I stayed on lotc was because there was one elven and human city that always had RP. I don't care if I was beaten for being a dark elf, at least there was at least ten people actually roleplaying all the time in New Abersi.

Yes, but now have 10 high elves, ten dark elves, and ten wood elves. Now have them all attacking one-another, all getting angry at one-another, and all getting pissy with one-another in L-OOC and you have a recipe for a disaster. I know this could happen, because it has happened. This isn't an environment that entices new players, or encourages good RP. Granted, our communities aren't generally idiots, rude, or looking for an OOC conflict. But if you smack flint and steel together you will eventually get fire.

I'm not claiming to have any solutions for the applicant slowdown or player retention. I'm a Socrates, not an Aristotle. I just know, from experience, that what you're proposing won't work, and will drive groups further apart.

Well it's my personal opinion that people having poor attitudes and taking RP to ooc shouldn't drive policy and world building. What I know also happens is when bases split up, the splits usually die individually while one survives with diminished activity.

Yup you need a stand and something called alchemists fuel. Then you just need bottles and eggs, wheat, resin or anything like that. Alchemists fuel is made with a tinkerers table. You could also just buy it though I don't know where.

Time expiry doesn't always work well, often leaving no evidence or record that anything happened at all. So we're trialing something new, instead of handling everything through PMs. If it needs adjusting, that's easily done.
