The 5th of Sun’s Smile, 1558
Throughout the lands of Vandoria, a state sponsored missive can be found nailed to signs, in piles beside heralds advertising work opportunities in the state’s military, and about the public buildings of the Kingdom. Copies are also available to business’ outside of the Kingdom that accept them, reading as follows:
Portrait of a Vandorian patrol bracing for an Orcish charge, made in the fall of 1557
Dearest people of Vailor,
In recent days, a decisive death blow has been dealt to banditry and the marauders who commit themselves to it with the Norlandic loss of Seahelm, the thieves losing not just their lives, but their homes. Ahead of us now on the path to peace though, we must now overcome another obstacle: The Orcish filth and their destructive practices.
During a quest for self discovery, we find the Orcs in tune with what they are most naturally, that of course being disgusting pests that ruin even the very home they infest. Now sending prayer out to the spirit of Pestilence itself, Orgon, they now have intensified their backwards practices to bring about the corruption of the land they manage to squat on. These mad, slave driving, child sacrificing oafs now go an extra mile to make life miserable for the races who respect both reason and longevity, and see to building shrines and committing to practices in which they may ruin the lands of Vailor for no better reason than to antagonize the good people of it.
We bear no intention on letting such a thing just happen.
As Vandorians, we are left with a special responsibility, as we man the the largest border with the War Uzg. With the position closest to the swine’s throat, we must be quick to slay it and clean the mess before all is spoiled, before all the bounty of the lands lay forfeit to the plague. A worse fate awaits the idle, as without treating this disease, we too may fall victim to it.
In short, dear people, it is up to us to maintain a healthy realm, and our best bet is to keep it sterile and free from the Orcish pests. With swords as our tools, we must scrape clean the lands like one would use a soap against hands.
Written and Signed Faithfully,
Privy Seal Lepidus Cuman
