Wasn’t there also the time that a disgruntled Undead player fireball’d Dawn’s Bakery? I remember Dalek348 showing me a video of that.

Video doesn’t work anymore, sadly. But this used to be the link.

  2. “A few of the Imperials are trying to pretend that Haense was some great burden upon the empire, when in fact it made up at least half, if not a majority of it’s military force, and a huge amount of it’s politicians in the House of Lords and House of Commons were Haenseni nationals. No Great Loss, my arse. Haense benefits more from this separation than the empire does, and that’s a fact.” Juniper ranted to a random customer in her shop who was just trying to buy some medicine.

Honestly, graphic novels are considered pretty good, they’ve got good reviews and it can be weirdly emotional and nostalgic.

  7. Correct. The intention behind both of these was to ensure that an antidote would not be readily available for an ill prepared medic or apothecary. There’s no point in a poison that can be easily cured. The Goblin’s Ivy taking four counts is meant as an assurance of a total system purge, rather than just inducing a singular purge by vomiting. As for Desert Berry Bush and Frost Vine, the thought process was based on both herbs not being easily obtainable within the narrative hour, unless a medic or alchemist has them on hand. The use of this poison starts a clock, where time is of the essence to find a cure. If I receive more negative feedback on the antidotes, I will gladly make changes as needed, but I wanted the poison to be curable by many means, and not by writing out a very specific counter antidote, and chose to offer up a few options within the lore itself. I hope this makes my choices more clear.
  8. Name of Potion: Widow’s Water Brief Description: A poison that induces intense flu-like symptoms over the course of a narrative hour, which will become lethal if the person is unable to find an antidote or cure. Recipe: Base: Distilled Water Death x6 Swiftness x2 Weakness x2 Poison x4 Burning x1 Effects: Within minutes after consumption, one will begin to grow ill. Nausea, body aches, chills, and most prominently, intense fever that will rapidly begin to break down the body's functions. A person will become extremely lethargic as their body puts all its energy into fighting off the fever, and the victim will be unable to walk very far, and will struggle just to remain upright. As time continues to pass, an intense headache will begin to overwhelm the victim, and after 1 narrative hour, internal organs will cease to function, the body will succumb to the illness, and the victim will perish. The poison itself has a slightly salty flavor to it, and can easily be mixed into food or drink without being apparent or obvious. The liquid is as fluid as water and faintly green tinted. There are three prominent ways to counter this poison: One is by crushing and boiling 4 measures of Goblin’s Ivy and consuming it to induce intense purging of the bodies’ systems via vomiting. The second counter is a mix of Frost Vine and Desert Berry, which will stop the process and allow the victim to begin to slowly recover over the course of the next 3 narrative days. The third counter, which is considered a last resort, is bloodletting by leeches or other methods, in which 1/4th of the victim’s blood is drained from their body. This method of cure will result in the victim being incapacitated and bedridden for 1 IC month or 1 OOC day. Redlines: - The poison takes 1 narrative hour or 1 OOC hour (whichever comes last) to become lethal. - A victim of the poison is under no obligation to Permakill their character. - The antidotes listed are not the only cure, but in order to purge the poison, you MUST use a lore approved manner, such as alchemical or magical. Inducing simple vomiting is not enough. - Unless the victim is in the biome in which the herbs which are used to counter the poison are grown, the herbs must be collected prior to their use. - Tier Three - Rare Recipe - Requires ST signing. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Name of Potion: Kholidav’s Frenzy Brief Description: A brew that, when applied to land, will cause the flora in a wide radius to wither and die. Recipe: Base: Distilled Water Poison x4 Death x2 Reduction x3 Curtailment x1 Effects: This potion when applied to land of any kind, be it grasslands, farmlands, forest, or anything else that is capable of growing flora, will cause the land to wither and become barren, it’s plant life dying off within a narrative day and leaving nothing but lifeless soil, rock, and sand. Trees and large shrubs will lose their leaves and their trunks will shrink and shrivel, losing all their internal water. Grasses, flowers, crops, and smaller shrubs and plants will wither away completely, their lifeless bodies crumbling away into dust and debris. Each measure of the potion can affect a radius of 20 blocks in each direction from where it is applied. The land, once turned to barren soil, will remain touched for at least 10 narrative years, unless it is treated with Land’s Nurture, in which case it will regain its ability to regrow life, though it should be noted trees will not magically pop up in one day, and will need time to regrow. Redlines: - The potion will take one narrative day or one OOC hour to take effect. - The land may naturally repair itself after 10 IC years, or 10 OOC weeks have passed. - The potion requires the consent of a region owner or the oversight of an ST or GM to apply. - Consumption of the potion will induce intense nausea and profuse sweating and is not lethal. - Tier Two - Requires ST signing.

  10. The Wick jolted up from her sheets in a cold sweat as the vision came to an abrupt end. She breathed heavily, shuddering as she tried to shake it off. A hand reached out to the side, fumbling over her nightstand for her darkened lenses, too opaque to see through. Shaking hands pushed them onto her face, and she left her bed, making her way through the small bedroom in her Helenian home to the balcony. She breathed deeply, taking the cool, humid air of the city into her lungs as she tried to ground herself. Once comforting to the young woman, the starry sky overhead now felt like an encroaching enemy.

  13. Plants don’t magically know when a woman is present. Alchemy isn’t magic, it’s physical. Unless there’s some insinuation that females give off woman vapors, there’s no reasonable explanation for why a woman has to be there.

  17. In a small, quiet chapel deep within Haense, Analiesa Reza prayed in solemn silence for her people, and for the empire to which they are loyally sworn. Upon the grounds where Rubern once stood, and where now a tall manor loomed over the landscape, Margaret Alimar hugged her eldest tightly, tears streaming down the woman’s cheeks. “Please, my dear son, my Josef, promise me you will be safe. Promise me I will not lose you too.” she wept to the young man.

  19. Title (Reagent Name): Westerlandic Winter Roses; commonly, the Winter Rose Origins: Unlike most flora used in alchemical studies, the Westerlandic Winter Rose was originally bred to be a hardy, garden variety flower. Originating in the royal gardens of the city of Bastion, located in the frigid north-western wastes of Tahn on the now lost continent Axios, the flowers started as imports from more temperate climates. At the hand and direction of the first Queen of the Westerlands, Annabelle of Leone, the roses were bred meticulously by adamant gardeners to withstand the freezing temperatures and biting winds of the tundra. By using local flora, as well as other exotic specimens who possessed desirable traits, the breed was formed over several decades. Prior to the fall of the ill-fated kingdom, some successful specimens were transplanted out of the royal gardens and taken elsewhere across the continent, as well as some patches managing to grow wild in the surrounding areas. Since those days, the unique variety has continued to grow and thrive in cold weather gardens, making its way to new continents via the hands of dedicated gardeners and botanists alike. Sign(s): Fire Symbol(s): Growth x2 Endurance x3 Heat x2 Light x1 Appearance: A rosebush with bright red flowers. Petals appear akin to a succulent leaf, being thick with liquid. Location: Commonly found in gardens in colder regions, it can escape and begin to grow wild, acting much like a weed. It can be transplanted to gardens in temperate or hot climates, though it may have some trouble thriving. Harvesting: Aside from sharp thorns, the physical nature of the Winter Rose is docile. The blooms are what contains the desirable symbols, and 3 blooms constitute one full measure. The rest of the plant offers no beneficial reagents. The bush is in bloom all throughout the year. At any given time, despite the size of the bush, the maximum number of blooms per bush is 6. Upon harvesting a bloom, the end of the stem will automatically begin the process of regrowing a bud, which will eventually bloom. This growth process takes 3 OOC days from harvesting to fully bloomed once more. Each bloom contains at maximum of 20 fully grown petals. The plant can grow wild or be kept in gardens. Plants kept in gardens must be meticulously maintained to prevent them from taking over a garden, and a maximum of two harvestable bushes can be maintained before the bush becomes unmanageable if other plants and herbs are present. More than two bushes may be grown only if no other plants or herbs are present in the garden or greenhouse. In order to bloom, the bush must have access to direct, natural sunlight. Gardeners may use either a rosebush item or a spruce leaf block with a red carpet on top, depending on the height desired, to represent the plant. Raw Effect(s): The only raw use of the plant lies in its petals. Upon plucking a petal from a bloom, the end which was connected to the bud will drip a thick, clear liquid. Ingestion of this liquid, which is achieved during chewing of the petal, will cause one’s body temperature to regulate much more efficiently. Redlines: - All Reagents must be gathered through RP and represented by ST approved items. - When processed for it’s Symbols, this Reagent will lose all of its raw effects and harvesting capabilities. - Bushes can contain a maximum of 6 blooms. Blooms take 3 OOC days to regrow. Blooms may contain a maximum of 20 petals. - For item harvesting purposes, a maximum of two bushes can be kept in a multi-plant garden. All bushes must have access to direct, natural sunlight. - The petal’s effect is only sustained while the petal is being chewed. One petal can be chewed for up to one narrative hour before the petal loses its effect. In this regard, swallowing the petal by consuming other foods or potions would cause it’s effects to be wasted. - The effects will ward off climate based ailments such as hypothermia, frostbite, heatstroke and heat exhaustion without factoring in additional protection from other sources (e.g. protective clothing). These petals would be effective up to the extreme points of -50F(-45.5C) and 125F(51.6C) - The effects can lower body temperature due to fever for the duration of the petal being chewed, but will not cure the cause of the fever. - The effects will not protect you from physical burns, via heat or cold. The main effect of this reagent is to keep the body and it’s internal organs at a stable temperature.
  20. An elf named Estrid reads about the ongoings of Arcas from a beach chair in an undisclosed location. She let out a sigh, looking over the top of her sunglasses to her husband. “Honey, you’ll never believe it! There’s a coalition formed to try and take down Oren! Maybe they’ll win this time..” she called out, then gave a little chuckle to herself. She picked up a glass containing a particularly fruity drink and took a sip. “They never learn, and the wheel of time keeps on turning.”
  21. Wonderful work by everyone involved. This is the first good piece of staff produced server content of this kind I have seen in years. Keep up the great work. I’d love to see a video tutorial about how to set up shops, as it seems to be one of the most commonly asked about plugins from my experience. I think it would also be beneficial to set up a page on the forums with this and other future tutorials and videos, as from what I remember the tutorial and guides section of the forum is messy and super outdated. Thanks again for putting in genuine effort, it’s stuff like this that the server really needs to excel once more.
