Captain Ruthern recalls them very much proclaiming to be Ferrymen before the fight
-
Cornered Rats 8th of the Horen’s Caling, 1820 As the Ferrymen jumped across the rooftops, volley after volley of arrows were down onto the innocent women and children within Providence. The pagans' victims lay bleeding, they shouted their outrageous demands, mocking the innocent denizens. Amongst the victims of their torture stood a young teenager, who took an arrow for his baby sister. Moments after, the ISA rallied under Captain Ruthern within the halls of the Bastion, refusing to give into the bandits' demands. With the sacrament of God’s blessing on their side, they stood in the very halls where the High Pontiff had blessed the ISA just a few saint hours before. After a long standoff, the bandits in their hubris charged into the Bastion, and dropped down onto the awaiting ISA below. Trapped like rats within the bastion, they were unable to run. Captain Ruthern ordering, a head in charge, led the clash within the halls of the Bastion. Imperial steel met pagan flesh as the bandits were slaughtered. Giving no quarter to the unholy bandits, the ISA decimated their rally, saving a few cowards who ran off with their lives unable to withstand the attack. Let it be known that His Imperial Majesty’s army allows no mercy for pagan and apostate bandits who terrorize His citizens. “Though a thief may find refuge and the blasphemer speak softly, the Lord’s eye is cast over all sin.” (Spirit 3:14). Signed Captain Ruthern of the 1st Brigade

Battle for Redenford Report, 1818 Reporting officer: Captain Erik var Ruthern of the 1st Brigade Following my last report, the 3rd brigade tracked the bandits to a camp in the hills outside Redenford. They discovered a plot to seize the town, confirming our worst fear. These aren’t simply a band of bandits, but an organized force calling themselves the ‘Redhoods.’ Before the ISA could dispatch men to garrison Redenford the news already arrived of the town's capture. The ‘Redhoods’ managed to seize Redenford and roads to it. A large force was assembled, led by Captain Erik var Ruthern of the 1st Brigade and Captain Caspian d’Arkent of the 2nd Brigade. They departed from Providence quickly and managed to catch the ‘Redhood’ scouts before they could report back, allowing the ISA force to remain undetected. A strange Knight known only as ‘Alexander’ arrived and offered their help which was welcomed. As the force arrived at the bridge, arrow volleys were traded with the ISA under Captain Erik’s command letting loose several volleys while advancing, killing many of the defenders on the bridge. Once the order was given the ISA charged the bridge defenses. Captain Caspain was badly wounded and forced to withdraw after an arrow struck his chest. Leaving Captain Erik the remaining commanding officer. Shortly as they took the first line of defenses Captain Erik was struck in the shoulder, but led the charge over the Bridge. It must be mentioned Grenadier Corporal Moores performed a great act of bravery by setting off an oil trap before it could threaten the advance. As Captain Erik led the main assault, Senior Corporal Ziegfrid, alongside Alexander and Recruit Arlo Cooper flanked the defenders leading to a quick slaughter. As the fighting dragged out in the streets the Redhoods were pushed to the town hall, leading the charge Ziegfrid slayed many of the defenders. After a brief lull in the fighting, the leader and several of the defenders slipped off while the ISA captured or killed a majority of the Redhoods. The prisoners were sent to Providence, and Redenford was once more secure and safe. The bravery the soldiers showed today was unmatched and must be noted for their feats during the battle: Senior Corporal Ziegfrid 4th Brigade - His skill at arms must be noted as he defeated the most bandits during the battle. His willingness to put his life on the line was an example to all. Grenadier Corporal Ezekiel Moores 1st Brigade - clearing the bridge for the rest of the assault force and his skill at arms during the battle. He was willing to risk everything and was wounded toward the end of the battle. Corporal Alexander Antler 2nd Brigade -For their bravery and skill at arms as they charge across the bridge. Corporal Edith Castington 2nd Brigade -Caring an injured soldier, and their skill at arms as charged across the bridge. They were wounded in the line of duty. Private First Class Charles Butler 1st Brigade -For his skill at arms throughout the battle, and willingness to put themselves in danger as they were wounded. Private Joseph Beckett 1st Brigade -For his bravery and willingness to lay his life on the line, before he was wounded. Private Zave Irwys 1st Brigade -For his skill at arms and bravery shown in combat. Private Arthur Komnenos 1st Brigade -Their skill at arms and willingness to risk their own life, leading to them being wounded while crossing the bridge. Cadet Cillian O'Rourke 2nd Brigade -For their willingness to lay their own life on the line to care for a fellow soldier, and being wounded in the line of duty. Recruit Auden Thien O'Rourke 1st Brigade -For their skill with a bow, and in combat. They showed determination and fortitude. Recruit Amsel 2nd Brigade -For their treatment of many soldiers during the battle, even putting themselves in danger to care for the wounded. They showed the determination and fortitude every ISA soldier should strive for. Recruit Arlo Cooper 2nd Brigade -For his bravery and skill at arms as he along with others broke the defenders in a flanking attack. They put their life on the line and were wounded while in combat. Signed, Captain Erik var Ruthern of the 1st Brigade ((Thank you @Radzig and the other actors for the event, it was a lot of fun))

Captain Ruthern sits in his office reading over the missive, "It is a poor way to live life to desire that what you don't have. The baseless claims hold no merit nor shall Oren be the scared dog they think us to be." Erik rises from his chair going to look out over Providence, "Oren doesn't not seek conflict and I pray for those who do wish to awake the Empire."

CAPTAIN’S REPORT 1817 Reporting officer: Captain Erik var Ruthern of the 1st Brigade The following is a description of the events which happened on the 10th of Snow's Maiden 1817 A transport of supplies arrived at the Bastion, following a request to deliver them to Redenford Captain Erik Ruthern organized an escort. The escort included Captain Erik Ruthern as commanding officer, Sergeant Jimmy Leblanc, Grenadier Corporal Richard Harver, Private first class Varlam Ruthern, and Recruit Vladimir Ruthern. The escort departed Providence and traveled down the road toward Redenford. Private Varlam rode ahead and spotted a fallen tree blocking the road. Captain Erik ordered his men to approach with caution. As they neared the tree an armed man jumped from the trees, and a volley of arrows rained down on the ISA soldiers. While wounded the soldiers pressed on, with Sergeant Leblanc saving Captain Erik’s life by loosing a bolt from his crossbow striking the leading bandit before he could attack. As the bandits charged down the hill, Imperial Grenadier Richard Harver met them throwing his flash powder and stabbing one bandit through the chest. As the melee started Private Varlam rode up on the hill and engaged the archers atop it. After a saint hour of fighting the bandits were killed or captured with a single one escaping with one crate of supplies. The remaining supplies were kept safe and the wounded soldiers marched back to Providence. It's troubling to report the ambush as the road was thought to be cleared. The captured bandits will be questioned. It is believed the bandits were apart of a large group operating in the area however their current objective is unknown. Signed, Captain Erik var Ruthern of the 1st Brigade
