Early History
Mallister is not considered an old house, formed around twenty years before the great relocation to Vailor, after a marriage between two minor houses, a new name was chosen to replace that of the names before. The Mallisters gained their strength through cultural and political ties with fellow northern clans and houses, as they preferred to befriend everyone they could. This started when the three brothers, Robert Mallister, Elric Mallister and Sarus Mallister joined the Golden Crow to be trained in the art of war. Through the years of training and small skirmishes, the two made their way up the ranks, until through further complications Robert and Sarus Mallister were made Hussars of the Crow, knights of the north in old traditions.
The Mallisters gained strong comradeship with their Crow brothers over the years, having spent many cold winters and summers together, they had gained a great respect for one another. They had been on countless military campaigns alongside one another, whether it be the evils of the North, or the political intrigue of the south, all troubles and pain were shared, and this created an almost unbreakable bond.
Conflicts
Although a young house, the family is no stranger to war, having led Mallister levy side by side with the Golden Crow in many incursions throughout the years, including the annihilation of the Storm Swords. The Mallisters stood side by side with remaining loyal Crows in the Last battle of the Dukes War, and was the ending point for the war itself. Here the Orenian army took to the offensive, attacking the Mallister keep. The outnumbered Mallister levy stood side by side with their Golden Crow brothers, and almost all perished in battle, this left only the young Mallisters alive who had fled many nights before, they fled south, were they may not be recognized and be spared from the blade.
Even though the Mallisters joined the rebels side in the Dukes War, House Mallister held little to no grudges against any lawful Orenian house, being of Orenian heritage themselves, they simply took up arms at the call of their liege lord as any good and loyal house would do.

‘Sarus Mallister finally succumbs to his injuries amongst his remaining levy in the last battle of the ‘Dukes War’ - 1521
After the Dukes war the Family was torn apart, having only gained their titles within the war itself, their nobility was only recognized by the rebellion, meaning after the war the house was to be cast into exile. Many Mallisters still remained, having left the northern region just before the start of the war. Thus after many years, the Mallisters have returned to the Eastern reaches of Oren, in search for a new Lord to serve and land to flourish on. They hold no grudges on their former enemies, only the hope that Oren will continue as a unified and unstoppable force against all that may stand against it.
Family Culture
The Mallisters originally considered themselves Heartlanders, but when Sarus and Robert Mallister made their way north in duty of the Golden Crow, they decided to bear Northern wives and live the Highlander culture instead. They do not fall under any particular subculture in the north, however one tradition within the Mallister family that may be considered strange within other families and cultures, is the act of cutting the hand whenever sealing an act of loyalty or swearing an oath to any person of nobility. This is not done in the backing of pagan belief’s, but is a reserved family tradition, showing an act of loyalty through the drawing of their own blood.
Because of this mix of Heartlander and highlander cultures, the Mallisters consider themselves descendants of the Raev and Hansetians. Although some members trace their heritage half and half, with both highlander and Heartlander culture traits.
The Mallisters have always had a long allegiance to the creator and continue to do so, in the long winter nights, the Mallisters would see comfort in their religion and look to the creator for moral in hard times.

Sarus Mallisters Bear Skin: The famed cloak itself was awarded through the killing of a bear with nothing but a sword, this age old Golden Crow tradition claimed the lives of many young soldiers. The cloak is also valued through its use in countless military incursions, all of which the wearer escaped unharmed. Some within the family believe the cloak holds a form of good fortune, as the last wearer, Sarus himself only died after leaving the cloak behind.
Roberts Fork: The mighty Mallister fork is said to have been used by Robert Mallister after he was unexpectedly ambushed by a northern bear... Having only with him the mighty fork himself, he took to the offensive, jabbing the bear in the eye. Robert won the battle but later died of his wounds.
