  1. There was an old plugin where you had to build a settlement pillar and players had to commit to being members of one nation/city to have perms and so on. Would be cool to pursue a similar thread. I think the map has been too big lately and would like to see a return to the 4.0 meta of having a smaller map but no fast travel nodes.
  2. I understand the need to not have absolutely inactive guilds and factions squatting on builds and tiles while no RP occurs there, but there surely HAS to be a better way to do so - not to mention the fact that the Orcs' tile had the activity check flag TURNED OFF during the activity checks to determine the order of who gets to pick region tiles in the new map first - so we get to pick last since our activity was 0. As an old-head, I'd like to point out that in the past we had a different allegiance system where individuals just had to register as citizens of a nation in order to be counted as an active member. Maybe instead of splitting hairs over fractions of a percentage of activity to determine if a community is having sufficient amounts of fun, having personas register themselves to a single nation and a single guild charter would be a more reasonable way to gauge if a playerbase was active and present. If people have a problem with a guild or nation holding land that they want, they can resolve it in RP via warclaims. Why are we being scrutinized like employees working a factory line?
  3. Prauta'Lur strings her bow and packs her spear, setting off with her Lur wolf Mormâs in search of worthy prey to grace the feasting table.
  4. You could set your current name to something random and unrecognizable and make a new account.
  5. *You would find this book in the shelf labeled "Orcish Literature". It is probably one of the only books there. Within it, you find a note which reads:* Herein lie the compiled works of one of the best-known Orcish skalds, Prauta of Gronkston. Some of these works are of great cultural significance to the Uruk people, whilst some seem to have been written for the purposes of recording information, or simply for entertainment. -FF *The book itself is a shabby, poorly-bound leather book. Its pages feel like they may be vellum, though they feel somewhat different. The handwriting within is clearly different from that of the writer of the note, leading you to believe it is the work of the author herself.* A Recipe for Halfling Stew *Another note is pinned before the next poem.* "This next poem seems to be an oral history documenting the recent Rex, Drokon'Ugluk." The Lament for Drokon ((OOC Note: These are only the first set of poems I have decided to include. More will be added as I continue to write. Expect to see a few written in Black Speech as I get better at writing in the language.))
  6. Prauta would remember the time that the Dwarves protected her people from the Orenian threat. She would be preparing to offer her help should they need it.
  7. Prauta doesn't associate with whitewashes.
  8. Prauta might later encounter him in the Stargush'Stroh.
  9. Prauta sharpens her axe after learning someone stole her idea and did it first.
  10. I think this would be a cool way to bring the Ish'Urkal into the limelight. I'd assume this would affect anyone who would use Lingerers or contact the dark shamans of the Ancestral Realm?
  11. Prauta would be biding her time, waiting for the right chance to make her play for power.
  12. ((I will sign if you'll have me. I'd love to play a gnome!))
  13. How about we bring back the actual Wilven Monks?
  14. You should add tristanx7 to the list for questions about Blah specifically, as he's been an orc player for a while and knows a lot of the more obscure words.
  15. While I agree out of character, it would not make sense in roleplay- that treaty would have brought dishonor to the orcs, but also the spirits. It demands Orcs cast aside a Shaman tradition, which we would not do. In essence what I am trying to say is while OOCly we might say that it is a good thing, it would make no sense in RP for an orc to agree to those terms.
  16. Make no mistake- accepting those terms from Oren would not have been a truce or a peace, it would have been the first step towards vassalization. By allowing Oren to enforce these demands upon us in exchange for the few scraps of our culture and our roleplay that would remain afterward would have been no peace- it would have been a complete and utter surrender on our behalf, with the only benefit to Orcs being that we don't have to fight anymore, which is a very non-Orc thing to do. Had Oren offered a true peace, where all hostilities were ceased without strings attached, we would have accepted it- needless violence is something that we would not want to see happen. But by offering a false truce, a poisoned olive branch, Oren did nothing but increase their already existing aggression towards our nation, and anyone with half a brain should be able to tell that the treaty offered was just a ball and chain. Also keep in mind the strong sense of honor and pride possessed by Orcs- while many players may agree OOCly that yes, these terms are the best thing for the orc nation, in roleplay no red-blooded Orc would accept them, regardless of the benefit that it would bring due to the shame that it would bring to all Orcs.
  17. ((2 Orcs are missing that should be on here: Shar'ku, who was the mate of Elphaba (I believe he's deceased.), and Mayonath (An honorary orc made part of the clan in 3.0, deceased as well. Shar'ku had the ign jenspelao, Mayonath is tristanx7.)))
  18. "And they're hanging some halflings!" Oren snarled with a sneer. "Tomorrow is Krugmas! It's practically here!" Then they growled, their mailed fingers saltily drumming. "We must find a way to stop Krugmas from coming!" For tomorrow, they knew... All the Orc girls and boys Would wake bright and early. They'd dance in the Goi! And then, oh the noise! Oh the Noise! The Noise! Noise! Noise! Noise! That's one thing Oren hated, the NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! Then the Orcs, young and old Would sit down to a feast. And they’d feast! And they’d feast! And they’d FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! They would feast on Kha-pudding And rare Halfling-roast-feet! Which was something that Oren Couldn’t stand in the least! And then they’d do something they liked least of all! Every Orc down in Azaghol, The tall and the small, Would stand close together, With Krugmas bells ringing. They’d stand hand in hand, And the shamans would start chanting! They’d chant! And they’d chant! AND they’d CHANT! CHANT! CHANT! CHANT! And the more Oren heard Of these Orc shamans sing, The more Oren thought, “We must stop this whole thing! Why, for fifty three years We’ve put up with it now! We MUST stop this Krugmas from coming! .... but HOW?
  19. I think the other issue at hand is the increased potential for metagaming. This is completely from my memory but back when I played in the dawn times, people didn't use TS/Skype to co-ordinate as much as it is used now. It's harder to conduct villain RP now because of how easy it is for someone to go "Charles_Grimlie killed me" in skype and now everyone avoids your character like the plague. I had toyed with the idea of trying to play a serial killer, but that all went down the drain once I realized how easy it would be for one person metagaming to ruin the whole thing.
  20. ((Reserved, working on and RP post.))
