Addressed to the Bishops, Priests, Deacons
and the Laymen of the Church of the Canon.
Most Beloved Brethren, Health and Pontifical Benediction,
With this letter, We officially announce Our undertaking of a pilgrimage to the island state of Formosa. Recent events and plights to Our mind have compelled Us to isolate ourselves and explore Our meaning and We hope to return to the Continent a changed man. In Formosa We will shed our fineries and pray and work among the Canonists there, partaking in their community and struggles. In the future, we hope to write of our experiences there so others may perhaps in the future follow in Our footsteps and learn and deepen their understanding of the Lord, God.
With Our temporary absence, it leaves the Chair of Saint Daniel empty. We trust in our stead Vice-Chancellor Viktor and Our Curates will lead the Mother Church diligently and soberly. Especially in this time of much instability amongst the Canonist Princes. With talks of peace already being rumoured, the Pontificate hopes that peace will prevail.

Most Beloved Brethren, Health and Pontifical Benediction,
Following the abrupt death of the good Bishop Valwyck, Maya Cecilya. The Pontificate shares in the grief of the family but prays that the family of Mother Maya finds the strength to continue, for death is undoubtedly sad in life, but we can rejoice for when our time in this theatre of virtue is at an end, we will find our paradise in the Seven Skies amongst our own. The Reverend Mother has been embraced in the Seven Skies and there her soul is forever at peace.

His Holiness, Pontian IV having just returned from his isolated experience in Florentine discovered a few new patches of grey on his scalp! First a congress was called to resolve the Aaun-Acre war 'peacefully', then foreign vassals are discovered fighting for Acre and now this not-so secret plot. Clearly peace for Humanity was not what the rest of Canonism wanted.
The High Pontiff kneeled at an icon of the four Exalted, who were now staring down at him as if judging the High Priest's actions. A sigh escaped him "God.. give me strength and let peace reign.." is all he could muster, maybe just maybe it wasn't too late for them to see reason

SECTION I - THE AAUNIC CIVIL WAR
With great interest have We watched this conflict between the Kingdom of Aaun and the Barony of Acre. Accused of having interfered too greatly, after the Congress in Atrus the Church decided to interfere no more, judging it best to watch from the sidelines, hoping the Canonist Princes had peace in mind and had made the right decision.
However, as feared, war has commenced in the lands of Aaun nonetheless, and our interest in this matter shall not cease. The only viable thing for the Church to do henceforth is to intervene and ensure the conflict is, as we stated at the Congress, concluded swiftly and with as little bloodshed as possible, and is not simply followed by another. Therefore;
We hereby forbid any foreign forces to intervene or volunteer in the Aaunic civil war, in an effort to minimize bloodshed and prevent future conflict. The penalty for disregarding this Pontifical decree shall be automatic excommunication, for both individuals and entire families or groups if necessary.
Naturally, humanitarian efforts will not be denied, those capable of working in the healing arts shall always be welcome. We expect priests and monastics shall receive access to prisoners of war, both to tend to their needs, spiritual and medical. We also expect priests to have access to prisoners of war, and battlefields, to offer confessions and last rites.
SECTION II - RESULTS OF THE COUNCIL
Most beloved, one year ago, this Pontificate summoned its ministers to the abbey of Saint Robert, to debate and vote upon changes in the Canon Law. Of the seven items examined, only three were properly passed; the others were postponed until the Ecumenical could continue at another date.
The items discussed were;
Firstly the issue of matrimony between peoples of dissimilar races, be that as example between humans and elves, and whether or not the Church of the Canon allows these to wed one another. It was the rationale of the council, that the curses of the races remain even after its amalgamation and therefore furthered the spread of Iblees’ influence. It was therefore determined by the council that the Church will not wed peoples of dissimilar races, nevertheless shall continue to wed canonists of similar races.
Secondly, the issue of matrimonial maturity was raised to the council and the amount of summers an individual needed to be to be wed to another. After a brief discussion between the ecclesiastics, a swift conclusion was reached: One must be eighteen summers old to be wed.
Thirdly, after an overview of the Canon law, it was found the late Pontifex Everard IVth allowance of female ecclesiastics was never added to the laws. We discussed this subject with our members and reached the simplistic and rational conclusion that this assessment of our predecessor merely needed to be added to the laws.
IN CONCLUSION OF THE COUNCIL, of our three subjects discussed;
I. PEOPLE MUST BE THE SAME RACE TO BE WED
II. PEOPLE MUST BE EIGHTEEN SUMMERS OLD TO BE WED
III. FEMALE MEMBERS OF CLERGY ARE OFFICIALLY ADDED TO THE LAWS
SECTION III - ON THE CRUSADE
Five years ago the Mother Church called upon the faithful and answered you truly did. The Church with the Lectorate directed this crusade but it was up to the individual nations to commit to the crusade; Haense, Balian Sedan and the entirety of the Harvest Confederacy joined the ‘Serheim’ crusade as it has been dubbed.
What exactly has this crusade accomplished you may ask yourself? For it was not the war so many expected, you cannot expect anything akin to a war between nations when fighting undeath. When Serheim caught wind of the combined efforts of Canondom, they broke and scattered to hide and appear when we have forgotten about them. We have succeeded with Serhiem, they are gone from their place. In Sedan a coven of Vampires was destroyed, in Petra a lair was uncovered and in Celia’nor a necromantic plot was unveiled.
Whilst We have donned the black armour and mace and partaken in this crusade it is to the leaders of this crusade we must give thanks to the crusaders from Acre, Haense, Balian and Sedan. For without them this Crusade of Ours would have been nothing but words.
It is now however that We end this crusade. The creatures of Serheim have fled their ruinous keep and Humanity has discovered the evil embedded within. This however is not the end of Our efforts. The Church will continue its mission, an order of men and women devoted to the destruction of undeath will continue the good work in a relentless inquisition against the forces of Iblees.
SECTION IV - ECCLEASTIC CENSUS
The Pontificate sees fit to recount its active ministers and monastics and so calls a census for the Church to be overseen by its Prelate, His Eminence Father Cyrus. We stress to our ecclesiastics across the nations, that failure to comply with Our Prelate and this census can and in all likelihood will result in the defrockment of the shiftless priest.
SECTION V - HOUSEHOLD APPOINTMENTS
The Pontificate sees fit to raise these men to the Pontifical Household, they shall be styled Monsignor, except where omitted, they are bestowed the rights and responsibilities of their Curial office.

- Upon his deathbed, it is said by witnesses that the body of Avenel was illuminated in a radiant light just before he passed on and when his mask had been removed, there appeared to be a heartlander male instead of an elf; leading for many to believe GOD had turned Avenel into a human, granting him what he had wished for most, so that he could reunite with his friends in the Seven Skies.

There are tales of a once mighty and fragile Cathedral made of glass, whose windows were never shut. Upon the howling of the wind, the resonance would dance amidst the hallowed hall of the Creator, a hymnal from Father Nature himself. Unfortunately, though it was said to have been located within the continent of Almaris.
One day, amidst holy prayer beneath the rosy stained panels, a band of rusted and most violent clockwork-men descended upon the Temple. Envious of the Cathedral’s blessed artifice, the constructs began to hurl ore to shatter the magnificent glass structure. The helpless monks huddled amongst themselves and began to pray for salvation against the machines.
To their consternation, the saintly figure appeared before them shining a glorious holy light that refracted through the shattered glass and what remained untouched. The clockwork men dropped to their hinged knees as their obedience vessels overflowed with the lifeblood of the Four Prophets themselves and declared: “Statement: These units serve an awesome Subject=GOD. Exclamation: Amen.” Too did the rhythm of their ticking chassis begin to synchronize to the chant of the Monks: “Hymnal: Hallelujah.”
The dancing of the lights began to narrow upon the humbled constructs, heating them with the fury of Owyn himself. The once-violent creatures were rendered to a heated goop, only to be cooled by the very winds which resonated Nature’s Hymn. As it settled, it was discovered that the chassis of the constructs had transmuted into a pile of grails, the mask of Avenel himself lying in the center.

- During a patrol of His Holiness Pontian IV’s crusade, a rally of Barclay men was struck down in surprise by the darkspawn themselves. In a series of unfortunate events, the Count of Minitz Leon Barclay was removed from his horse by the darkspawn and held to the wet soil with no chance of fighting once more. Alas, in the midst of this defeat, a bright line is said to have shone from the Skies and a voice of the Blessed Johann belting forth to the Barclay soldiers; an urging voice of might and combat, encouraging the troops to fight through the creatures of the dark. It was then, as the light faded once more, that the Barclay soldiers rose and defeated the darkspawn in swift precise swings.
- In the events of the Orenian anathema of Philip III and Anastasia I, the Blessed Johann was ambushed by two Orenian soldiers with naught but a broken axe by his side. It is said the Blessed Johann overcame these Orenian soldiers, and by the end of the fight his axe had been healed from its splintered state. His axe still lay in the crypts of the Barclay; whole as a newly made weapon, never rusting till this day.

A GATHERING FOR CROWS
A letter bearing the Pontifical seal is delivered to all members of House Sarkozic, young and old, those living in Sedan, Balian, Haense Aaun and even elsewhere. Far and wide these letters were delivered to the Crows of Sarkozic. Breaking the seal open, the letter would read:

To the true Carrion-Progeny of Victor Sarkozic,
Blessings of the Divine Creator upon you all, family. We write this letter to summon the House of Sarkozic to the ruins of San Luciano to discuss the future. We are concerned for its well-being, long ago my brother, Baron Joseph died far too soon and his young boy inherited it all, but where is this boy? He led the remnants of the family, that were willing, to the Principality of Sedan and made a life there. Daring to call Ourselves a close friend of House Joannes and a frequent visitor to Joannesport, We have seen none of this family there and the Boy-Baron, We have not seen for decades.
This house is shattered and its members spread across the continent without a purpose. Come see Us in two months' time in the Ruins of San Luciano, enjoy a warm meal, good drinks, good people and good entertainment!
For the sake of the survival of this House, come see Us.

RESPONSE TO 'THE POLITICAL CHURCH'

Most Beloved Faithful,
We write this public missive to respond to a concerned knight, verily We understand his frustrations but We shall make an attempt at dispelling them and reveal to him and the rest of the faithful some of our internal developments.
The Mother Church has no interest in the politics of nations, but when another war between all of Humanity is on the verge of bursting, we the Church feel it is our responsibility to act and call for unity and peace. In our efforts for harmony, we have been named tools of too many people and nations to count. We are not faultless and the Church has had a history of politics, that much We can admit, our main goal when intervening in secular affairs is to maintain peace and not to execute our own agenda!
We were only present in Balian when Acre attacked because they broke the sacrosanctity of the Basilica la Sorella, when the Church understood that the conflict had been moved outside and nothing happened within the temple, we observed the ongoings but took no action to alter events in our favour. To the Aaunic matter, the Kingdom was formed and its sovereign, King Charles merely wished for our blessings, in the same way, King John of Balian had asked a few years prior. It is Our Apostolic Right to bestow this blessing.
But to the glaring issue, you have presented; mass. This is a prevalent issue that I am not ashamed to admit to as well. We addressed this issue partially in our first golden bull, We asked our bishops to not forget their responsibilities, We are aware not much has changed. Though I do not make the assumption that there are no sermons at all, We have kept our eye on a pious young man in Atrus who preaches regularly, he is worth listening to. Perhaps your letter to Us will wake up the idle clergymen and put them back to work! If not, it is something the Church is working on, but all work requires time.
But sermons are not the only responsibility of the priest. Daily the Pontificate and even Our ministers are approached by strangers and known faces, they tell us of their troubles and we advise them and guide them to a solution, is this not the duty of the Church? To help those in need, teach them, listen to them and celebrate with them?
We hope that this letter to you good ser Knight has put your mind to some ease, we welcome your criticisms, but we are aware of them and are making the necessary changes.

The High Pontiff received a dozen papers from a courier who presented him with the ongoings of Almaris during his journey home from Formosa. Among the papers was a copy of the von Reuss' travels.
"In her studies of the temples to God, she has completed her own pilgrimage..." thought Pontian IV. He set the paper aside and continued taking in the news from the continent he had been absent from for two years now.

These vampires had masqueraded in the midst of Humanity for years, God can only know how long. We called them friends, dined with them and even celebrated sacred ceremonies with them.
Verily We understand your concerns! His Eminence and the diligent sister will focus their efforts in Petra, furthermore, We will be sending Our personal inquisitor to investigate alongside the two. The darkspawn are everywhere, they have scattered from Serheim and sadly we must look to our own kin. It is an appalling thought that your best friend or even family could be an advocate for the darkspawn.
The Cardinal Viktor will speak with you if the need arises, We leave this affair in his capable hands. May God bless you and keep you forever.

PONTIFICAL LETTER
WRIT OF DISSOLUTION:
OF THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONYMost Beloved Brethren, Health and Pontifical Benediction.
We write this declaration from Our most Holy Office with sorrow to institute the dismantling of a union which has lasted many years. Marriage remains one of humanity’s most holy sacraments, inspired by the example of the Exalted Horen and Saint Julia. Yet, after close investigation and discussion, We have come to the conclusion that the union between Wilhelm Otto Morovar and Henrietta Nikola de Joannes cannot continue. Therefore, We hereby declare the union of Wilhelm Otto Morovar and Henrietta Nikola de Joannes dissolved on the grounds of marital abandonment on the side of the female spouse. The marriage will not now, not ever be fruitful for the two. Their relations are cold and no children have been born from the marriage and still to this day remains unconsummated.
With the union dissolved they are permitted by the Holy Office to remarry, but we implore both to take more caution in seeking matrimony going forward and demand that both seek Our permit for future unions.

That in the year of Our Lord, 1st of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1891. The High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon summons ALL clerical members to the Holy See within Karosgrad. To convene on matters of the Canon Law. It is expected that all ministers make their way to the abbey of Saint Robert, south of Karosgrad, posthaste. Within three months' time.
In spite of the events at hand, this council will be taking place. For many years, even prior to Our ascension to the Chair of Saint Daniel. The outdated state of the Canon Law has troubled Us. This is an opportunity for all ministers to voice their opinions and vote on the future of the Mother Church. Alongside Our curates, we have assembled a list that will act as the council’s agenda;
- Discuss mixed marriages, the curse does not disappear as the race thins out.
- Confirm women clergy, through vote and update laws accordingly
- Update the age required to marry.
- Examine the Book of Availer, Proverbs of Exalted Godfrey, Aengulica Hierarchia and Hymn of Owyn and the pearl as deutercanon
- Examine the Azdrazi and Paladinism.
- Discuss the removal of obsolete laws. For example, sub-sections from the “Holy Orenian Empire” chapter

Some months ago We received a letter from an unknown Canonist in dire need of council. This man wrote to Us, explaining that he had taken a wife and the two were blessed with children. It was only when the children were born that the man saw that there was some sort of trickery involved, the children were clearly of Elven descent, confronting his wife they discovered together that she was an Elf, her true race hidden with alchemy as a babe.
The Mother Church is glad you have found the courage within to confront this matter. Many would simply dismiss it and continue to live an unvirtuous life. We must tell the truth, no matter how painful it is to you and yours, dear writer;

The misguided Descendants may deny God, His prophets and His good Scrolls, but it is crystal clear that any offspring born from mixed unions are twice cursed, in this case, brought into our world to live short lives and die without their own brood. It is unfortunate, but in Our eyes, the children of this specific union are illicit, in other words, bastard born.
Fret not, neither you, your woman or your children are damned yet. Through the Church, you are offered baptism and penance. This offer goes to all in similar dilemmas. The Mother Church is an entity of mercy, it offers second chances.

SECTION IV - ON THESES
Before our election to the Immaculate Throne, We together with the Synod successfully voted to remove the thesis method of ordainment, believing it to be an archaic way of judging whether an acolyte is suitable for the priesthood. An acolyte should not be judged by his finesse in writing the most flowery thesis, but by his knowledge of the Canon.
We have developed an exam, which will be administered to able acolytes by their Superior Cleric, the exam will then be reviewed by the Dicastery for the Clergy.
SECTION V - A REMINDER TO THE BISHOPS
We would like to emphasize to our diocesan bishops that as shepherds of God’s people, you must put more effort into your responsibilities, you may believe that all is well in your parish, but idle hands become the Deceivers playthings.
“So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall not be idle, nor forget your duties in favor of sloth.” (Virtue 4:8)
Look to the liturgical calendars for inspiration for mass. Tend to the ill in your territory, individually teach your flock the Holy Scrolls, initiate pious laymen to the deaconship where they may assist and on rare occasions even celebrate sacred ceremonies.
What We are attempting to say is for you to take the initiative and administer your diocese more independently.
SECTION VI - ASSESSING THE ATLAS OF SAINTS
Throughout Our lifetime We have encountered some canonizations which have not been duly recorded in the Church’s records, allowing for Saints who were canonized long ago, to slip through the cracks of time and go unnoticed by the laity. We will endeavour through a commission of clerics and laymen to search for those lost and list them in a new Atlas of Saints, where all canonizations, beatifications etc. will be documented.
It will be the third volume of the “Legenda Sanctorum or the Lives of the Saints”, not only the new and re-found Saints will be recorded, but all of them so Canonism may have one singular book to look to, instead of three different ones.
SECTION VII - RECOGNIZING SEDAN
Having been invited to the city of Joannesport, We met with the Crown Prince Joseph de Joannes and his advisor Lord Calmest. After careful deliberation and dialogue with the Septarchy. The Holy Mother Church does henceforth recognize the sovereignty, independence and agency of the Principality of Sedan. We wish them the very best in the name of the Divine Creator.

THE PONTIFICAL ENTHRONEMENT OF 1886
The votes had been double-checked first by the Vice-Chancellor then again by the Chamberlain. Indeed there was no foul play and the votes were truthful. The Conclave was now over and the Basilica doors were thrown open!
Pontifical enthronements had not been a public affair for at least a century, in modern history, they have often been done quickly and quietly. This was different, it would be a splendid public affair where all, faithful and not, would be permitted to watch.
As people entered the Basilica they spoke in hushed tones, some uttered prayers and some said nothing, content to sit in silence. Eventually, a contagious hush fell over the gathered and then a procession of the Curia began, at the helm was Chamberlain Katerina, carrying a sturdy ballot box, behind her were the Cardinals Viktor and Armand.
The procession seemed to be neverending, they walked and walked until they finally reached the altar where the container was set aside and opened and the ballots were read aloud for all to hear.
The Chamberlain spoke such:
“Adrian Cardinal Albarosa;
Adrian Cardinal Albarosa;
Adrian Cardinal Albarosa;
Adrian Cardinal Albarosa.”The College of Cardinals had reached a consensus within their conclave. The reaction of the public wasn’t met with much of a reaction, the congregated mostly whispered among themselves.
Once more the Chamberlain spoke, reciting the prayer of Penitence;
"Almighty and most merciful Creator, we have wandered and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things that we ought to have done; and we have done those things that we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us.
But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us sinners. Spare those who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Horen our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Creator, for his sake, that we may live a disciplined, righteous and godly life, to the glory of your holy name. So say we all."
This was merely the beginning, abruptly the Goats of Sedan marched in, and among them in the middle was the Pontiff-Elect, Adrian of Albarosa, clad in a simple white frock. Soon the Goats stepped aside at the pews and the successor continued to the Immaculate Throne at the apse
Adrian of Albarosa genuflected before the altar and signed the Lorraine, once on his feet again the Chamberlain continued with the lengthy ceremony. Speaking the many oaths of office required to assume the most Holy Office.
“With the Lord Creator our witness and guide, it has been divined that the Adrian of Albarosa, born Adrian de Sarkozy, has been willed to fulfil the seat of the Church Pontificate. Do you heed the call of Our Creator to bear this vocation?”
She asked. The Pontiff-Elect, answering “Yes, I do so.” in reply. Cardinal Katerina continued the oaths. This time reading the assent, an ancient part of the ceremony.
“You have been ordained in our church, your household names forsaken and your life devoted in sole service to the teachings of our Creator. The vows of your past vocations remain firm; now you must make the declaration of assent.
The Church of Faithful is the One, Holy and Rightful Church of the Creator, worshipping the one true God, The Creator. It professes the faith uniquely revealed in the Holy Scrolls and set forth in the Faithful creeds, which faith the Church is called upon to proclaim afresh in each generation. Led by the Holy Light, it has borne witness to Faithful truth in its historic formulates, the Articles of Faith, The Book of Saints. In the declaration you are about to make, will you affirm your loyalty to this inheritance of faith as your inspiration and guidance under God in bringing the grace and truth of Horen to this generation and making Him known to those in your care?”
The Cardinal sighed, the lengthy recitals coming to an end. Now Adrian spoke;
“I, Adrian of Albarosa, do so affirm, and accordingly declare my belief in the faith which is revealed in the Holy Scrolls and set forth in the Faithful creeds and to which the historic formularies of the Church of The Creator bear witness; and in public prayer and administration of the sacraments, I will use only the forms of service which are authorized or allowed by Canon.”Katerina stepped back, returning to her former position. Taking her place was the Auditor of the Tribunal, Cardinal Armand. He would deliver oaths of his own. He would begin;
“Do you accept the Holy Scrolls as revealing all things necessary for eternal salvation through faith?"Promptly Adrian of Albarosa affirmed, “I do so accept them!” Like so it would go back and forth for a few minutes, the Auditor speaking a vow and the Pontiff-Elect confirming;
"Will you be diligent in prayer, in reading Holy Scrolls, and in all studies that will deepen your faith and fit you to bear witness to the truth of the Word?"
“By the help of God, I will”
"Will you lead your people in proclaiming the glorious Word of Horen, so that the good news of salvation may be heard in every place?"
“By the help of God, I will”
"Will you teach the doctrine of Horen as the Church of Faith has received it, will you refute error, and will you hand on entire the faith that is entrusted to you?"
“By the help of God, I will”
"Will you be faithful in ordaining and commissioning ministers of the Church?”
”By the help of God, I will”
“Will you be gentle and merciful for Horen’s sake to those who are in need, and speak for those who have no other to speak for them?”

"Will you endeavor to fashion your own life and that of your household according to the way of God and make your home a place of hospitality and welcome?"

"Will you work with your fellow servants in the Church for the sake of the kingdom of God?"

At last the boring pledges were over with, but the last. Armand then spoke; "Speak thus then the oath of the Pontificate, with the conclave and God as witnesses." A moment later Adrian said his oath of the Pontificate, reading from a script held for him to read from;
"I vow to change nothing of the received Tradition, and nothing thereof I have found before me guarded by my God-pleasing predecessors, to encroach upon, to alter, or to permit any innovation therein; To the contrary: with glowing affection as her truly faithful student and successor, to safeguard reverently the passed-on good, with my whole strength and utmost effort;
To cleanse all that is in contradiction to the canonical order, should such appear; to guard the Holy Canons and Decrees of our Saints and Pontiffs as if they were the divine ordinance of Heaven, because I am conscious of Thee, whose place I take through the Grace of God, whose Vicarship I possess with Thy support, being subject to severest accounting before Thy Divine Tribunal over all that I shall confess;
I swear to God Almighty and the Favored son Horen that I will keep whatever has been revealed through Horen and His Successors and whatever the Saints and my predecessors have defined and declared.
I will keep without sacrifice to itself the discipline and the rite of the Church. I will put outside the Church whoever dares to go against this oath, may it be somebody else or I.
If I should undertake to act in anything of contrary sense, or should permit that it will be executed, Thou willst not be merciful to me on the dreadful Day of Divine Justice.
Accordingly, without exclusion, We subject to severest excommunication anyone -- be it Ourselves or be it another -- who would dare to undertake anything new in contradiction to this constituted Tradition and the purity of the Faith and the Faithful religion, or would seek to change anything by his opposing efforts, or would agree with those who undertake such a blasphemous venture."
Having said his oath, the Pontiff-Elect kneeled once more to be anointed by the Holy Waters of Gamesh. Performing the sacrament was the Pontifical Secretariat, Cardinal Viktor. With a container of blessed water, he traced a cross on the man’s forehead and spoke
“Cleansed of worldly taint, you are reborn in the Creator's vision. Your heart blessed in the eternal compassion and truth of Horen; your soul aflame with the benevolent justice and fervor of Owyn; your body awash with the incredulous miracles and charisma of Godfrey; your mind attuned to the unworldly wisdom and vigor of Siegmund."
Then the kneeling Adrian rose and was robed in the Pontifical garments and finally the highlight of the ceremony; the Laurel. Carefully it was retrieved from a red pillow and placed upon the brow of the Pontiff-Elect.
"By this you are known to all as preserver of truths and lord spiritual." said Viktor. Having been crowned, the new High Pontiff gingerly sat down on the white throne. Observing in quiet what transpired.
“I announce to you a great joy: We have a High Pontiff! The Most Eminent and Most Reverend Lord, Adrian of Albarosa. High Pontiff of the Canonist Faith who takes to himself the name. . .”"PONTIAN THE FOURTH"

THE CARDINAL CONCLAVE OF TYLOS III
The time had come. The Holy Father, Tylos III had been laid to rest beneath the ground and now the College of Cardinals found themselves once more locked within the Basilica of Saint Heinrik. There by the altar, an immaculate box sat with slits on its top allowing for the gathered cardinals to insert their votes.
There were four gathered clerics of various nationalities and backgrounds. They sat across from each other, each with a blank white paper, ink and a quill. The four clerics were Viktor Cardinal Nescia, Katerina Cardinal Jorenus, Armand Cardinal Allobrogum and Adrian Cardinal Albarosa.
The Vice-Chancellor Adrian rose and moved towards the ballot box and spoke a prayer to the College,
“Heavenly Creator, walk with us as our mediator and judge to endow us with a sound mind and contrite heart in the election of the next Pontiff. Grant, we pray, that by your infinite wisdom and omnipotence that whomever is chosen shall reflect your mercy, compassion, strength, and duty in the exercising of this great Holy Office. This we ask in prayer, in the name of all Aenguls, all saints, and of the universal church, Amen.”
The Vice-Chancellor then traced the Lorraine cross, signalling for the voting to begin.
No more than an hour had passed and all four cardinals had placed their votes. It was then that the Vice-Chancellor rose once more and opened the ballot box and counted the votes. He returned the slips back into the box and closed it, beckoning the College to come forth and see for themselves the results of the election.
They all knew who the successor was and what was now necessary for them to do. The successor of the Church would need to be enthroned the next Saint’s Day in the Basilica of Saint Heinrik.

It is with the utmost sorrow that the Mother Church announces the passing of His Holiness, Tylos III. On this very day, the Holy Father ordered the bells of Saint Heinrik to chime for mass. It was in the middle of his sermon that the High Pontiff abruptly died. Enthroned in the year 1876 and passing in 1886, His Holiness reigned for ten good years.
THUS,
With the passing of the Holy Father, the Church of the Canon hereby enters the position of “Sede Vacante”, otherwise named “The Seat Being Vacant”. We pray to God, all the Exalted and the Saints, that He will grant wisdom to our College of Cardinals to choose a successor that is pleasing to Him.
We pray that our new Pontiff be protected from the evils of sin, from greed and gluttony, from pride and selfishness. Rather, may he be a benevolent shepherd to the Canonist flock, guiding all the faithful through the troubles of our world, remaining obedient to God, serving as a light for those stuck in darkness.

The Vice-Chancellor stared at the Holy Father's pale corpse. It was a strange sensation, to see someone you knew in life, laying without a soul before you. The Cardinal did not pray, in fact he didn't think too much about it. He trusted the machinations of God and that Tylos III was now in the Seven, in paradise.
"What do we do now?" came a voice behind him, it was Katerina. She had summoned him to the the Basilica.
Adrian regained his consciousness and spoke to his sister-Cardinal "We will declare sede vacante and prepare for the funeral" Having said this the cardinal-red priest marched away to write the declaration.

The College of Cardinals write with sorrow to institute the dismantling of a union which has lasted many years. Marriage remains one of humanity’s most holy of sacraments, inspired by the example of the Exalted Horen and Saint Julia. Yet after a close discussion with Lord Dietrich, the College of Cardinals understand why it cannot continue, the marriage will not now, not ever be fruitful for the two. Their relations are cold and no children have been born from the marriage.
Therefore, we hereby with the imprimatur of the High Pontiff declare the union of Dietrich Barclay and Odessa MacPherson dissolved on the grounds of marital abandonment. With the union dissolved they are permitted by the Holy Office to remarry, but we implore both to take more caution in seeking matrimony going forward and demand that both seek the Church’s permit for future unions.

The College of Cardinals did on the 20th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1883, convene to discuss the matter that were brought before the College, a briefing is found below:
- Lector Trevor unveiled the concealed history of St. Lorethos of Rhen, which shocked the Curia and compels the body to reassess the validity of the deceased’s canonization. Furthermore, a replacement for St. Lorethos of Rhen was proposed; Avenel Synalli. An Elven in the service to the Orenian Empire in the late 16th to 17th century. In addition to this the Acolyte Cyrus of Rudr brought up the removal of Lorethos would also mean the removal of a Patron Saint of the Rhenyari and urged the Curia to find a replacement for both magick and Rhenyari. The Secretariat awaits the documents from the Lectorate, where the beatification process may begin.
- Secondly, Lector Trevor gave the Aegisian Curia a report of vampire sightings in Grodno. The former Ser August was suspected of being one himself after avoiding testing by the Lectorate. August will be summoned to submit to testing where his status may be confirmed.
- At last, a Mister Ruadh Mor came before the Curia to discuss the succession of the Daeland title; how it may best be kept out of pagan hands. Nothing was decided or voted upon by the Curia. The Curia consulted with Mister Ruadh Mor and he left with something to consider.

Lector Trevor: “Ser August was in the room with her at the time; we took her to Felder's Rock for treatment because we had more resources available. While she was recovering I was able t'get a story out of her but it didn't make sense.”
Ruadh Mòr: “Your Eminences an' Graces, gude Lectors.”
Lector Trevor: “She had sent her dogs and children out to play while ser August - a man she claims t'be like an uncle to her- and her cousin Jack.”
Lector Trevor: “Were in the home with her.”
Lector Trevor: “She claimed they were upstairs and had joined her for tea, she'd left the door unlocked and someone had broken in after she cut herself and pounced on her.”
Lector Trevor: “We took her back home, the home was a small vienne house, two stories only. They would've heard her thumping around down there - so that didn't add up - and her tea set was downstairs.”
Lector Trevor: “We then decided to speak with August and do a follow-up, he gave us a conflicting story that he was out of the house getting his mail at the time of the attack.”
Lector Trevor: “I told him in order to find the vampire in question we would just go through the suspect list starting with the obvious choices. So we told him he could help with the investigation after being salt-tested himself to eliminate any doubt.”
Lector Trevor: “He seemed reluctant to do the test, a nearby Barclay levyman volunteered to be tested first and aid with the investigation, nothing out of the ordinary occured with his test.”
Lector Trevor: “Ser August then admitted he knew the vampire after urging us t'head t'Grodno for the test and further refused the test until he fled from the scene.”
Lector Trevor: “We contronted the woman again, she admitted her cousin had been infected and attacked her because he'd been seeking help and refusing to drink blood to sustain himself.”
Lector Trevor: “We cured him, he volunteered t'stay in the temple and do some scroll study- that's the end o' that part o' the story.”

Dearly beloved, for many years now the dual Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska has faced the innumerable hordes of the Inferi and undead, successfully so but alas not without the loss of good Canonist lives. It is after speaking with his Majesty Karl III, that we came to an agreement. This force is of great power, a power we cannot fight divided and must face together.
We have begrudgingly begun to establish temporary truces even with old enemies to cooperate to end this evil quickly. We urge our Canonist brothers to lay their arms aside and coordinate with their Canonist brethren. We can ill afford to be unprepared for what is to come. The Canonist Church and Inquisition alongside the Knights of Haense have begun to investigate, and we invite the Kings of Aaun and Balian, and the Archduchess of Petra to join us so we can be prepared.
SECTION II - RESULTS OF THE RECONVENED COUNCIL
Dearly beloved, it was in the year 1891 that the Holy See summoned its faithful ministers to the abbey of Saint Robert of Metz to be in attendance at Ecumenical Council to debate and vote upon potential changes pertaining to Canon Law. Though we failed to discuss all pressing matters at once, and instead considered it prudent to delay and reconvene some other date.
We are as of this year overjoyed to report, therefore, that the Ecumenical Council was reconvened and all matters were properly discussed and voted upon. And that, with that much said, more information shall be released in the near future as we work on getting things codified.
SECTION III - ECCLESIASTIC CENSUS
It was in the year of our Lord 1896 that Our Prelate of the Clergy, Cyrus Cardinal Albarosa, first published the Census of the Ecclesiastic Register at Our request in an attempt to properly document and confirm all members of the cloth to best ensure the shepherding of the Holy Mother Church for the current generation and the generations yet to come.
Filling out this Ecclesiastic Register as a result of such became a strict requirement for all members of the clergy, from simple parish priests to Cardinals of the College of Cardinals alike. It was stressed, as a result, that all members of the cloth failing to fill this form within a specific number of years be defrocked, and thus, stripped of their priestly status and assumed inactive.
Thus it is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that we proclaim that all priests that failed to fill the Ecclesiastic Register out in time be officially defrocked until such a time comes that they reach out to the Holy Mother Church and be given the chance to once more return to God’s servitude and be reordained by Our Prelate.
SECTION IV - CURIA APPOINTMENTS
The Pontificate thanks Cardinal Markos for his service when we most needed him, but the good father has since grown distant, unable or unwilling to attend to his duties and councils. We see only one option, dismissal. We only strip him of his title as Cardinal and Curia appointment, he may return to his diocese in Aquila.

In light of this we have found a deserving replacement for the Pontifical Secretariat. His Highness, Ottomar von Alstreim has often written to Us, aided us in our writings and helped settle our thoughts. We see him as an ideal replacement and hope his skills and faith will only strengthen through his leal service to our Lord God and our Holy Mother Church. Alongside this We also appoint Father Teodosio as interim Auditor of the Tribunal, until His Eminence, Father Armand’s unfortunate injuries have healed.

SECTION V - RESTRUCTURING THE SEPTARCHY
With the dismissal of Cardinal Markos, it leaves Us with a vacant seat. This seat we find that Father Teodosio of Atrus is the most fitting choice for. Time and time again he has proven his diligence, faith and modesty. We welcome him with open arms into the College of Cardinals.

SECTION VI - THE INQUISITION
In the first section We mentioned Our Inquisition. We were approached by a penitent Kazimir of Vidaus. He had committed the greatest of sins, but in his eyes, We saw a passion and most importantly great piety.
We made a leap of faith, which the Creator often demands of us. We granted Kazimir consent to reform the Order of Saint Nicolas following his penance in the image he saw fit. Some Saint’s Days later he was prepared and We again gave him consent to formally found this new order.
We place our imprimatur upon this new Holy Inquisition, with the core objective thereof the purging and eradication of darkspawn from human society entirely. They shall take direct inspiration from the old Lectors of Owyn and the Marked Men. It is clear that amassing an army and marching upon the darkspawn does not purge, it only scares them. With the powers of alchemy and superior weaponry, We believe this Inquisition will be successful, it must be successful. For the safety of humanity is at stake. Too often common men and women approached the Throne of Saint Daniel, and confessed that their beloved have been infected by evil, but what can the Holy Mother Church do without the knowledge to cure this? We have relied on others to do this for us, yet with the formation of this Inquisition, believe such will come to change.

Beatified in recognition of a miracle that occurred during the time of the short-lived Michaelite Schism, where it was reported by many that after the failed attempt on His Holiness’ life the High Pontiff levitated for some time as he was giving a speech before the Haeseni in Karosgrad.
BLESSED HIGH PONTIFF TYLOS II
Beatified in recognition of a miracle that occurred during His Holiness’ lifetime, namely having prayed over the then-ailing Duke of Drusco as he lay bedridden and cured him of his blindness and bedridden state. Said Duke would later commit himself to serving our Lord himself and be venerated as Venerable Remus Lucien Ashford de Bar for his many miracles and divine visions.
BLESSED KING SIGISMUND III OF HANSETI-RUSKA
Beatified in recognition of his steadfast defense of the Holy Mother Church as Fidei Defensor and a miracle that occurred following his passing during which, as an infant lay dying as the result of breathing complications, Sigismund cured them after having been prayed to.
BLESSED MOTHER MAYA CECILIYA BARBANOV
Beatified in recognition of her steadfast dedication as a priest of the Holy Mother Church and a miracle that occurred following her passing during which she came to the aid of three Canonists, beset with illness, and showed them compassion, intervening on their behalf and curing them.
