An aging dowager smiled faintly whilst eyeing the missive, contentment arousing from within Eleanor Victoria. "Young rose," she had muttered to herself, her brows lofting, "I hope you remember my words from our extensive voyage." Those slate-grey eyes of hers drew forth to the running children among the palace gardens, droning as she began to saunter off.

A small Rhenyari girl scuttled off from an ever-persisting maid who insisted she wear a powdered wig, the child comically terrified to be donning such a thing. Though, she had appreciated such writing to be made and would use it as reference hereafter. Meanwhile, however, a lone woman smiled faintly at Charlotte's work, roaming the immense palace in search for the woman to laud greatly.

An elfess sat quietly among the beaches of Elvenesse, overlooking the soft ripples of the sea. From afar would be the scorched desert — a barren land she had once called home. She glanced downwards at the letter, bare of whatever mirth Luciana had seen from before. Eveth tugged at her coils, emitting a low sigh whilst shutting her eyes. Therein, a small prayer was intoned.

Imperial Declaration of a State of Emergency
venclair replied to Braehn Elendil An'Hiraeth's topic in The Kingdom of Oren
Victoria Clementine, donned in extra layers of cloth, embraced a large stuffed bear from where she stood. The youth overlooked the slew of refugees from a grimly tower, a mali'aheral by her flank. Small chattering emitted from the two, their breaths vapor as they exhaled the frigid air. Meanwhile, a forlorn woman fled her family's estate, forbidding as she travelled whilst twiddling with a ring. -
A BRIEF HELENIAN ORNITHOLOGY I 1795 BY VICTORIA C. KAPHRO SCRIBED BY PETER MAXIMILLIAN Ornithology is the study of birds, and helps with developing several concepts in things such as evolution and behavior. Birdwatching could be anywhere, like your very own yard, a forest, or a lake. Telescopes are a handy thing to have to see these feathery creatures up close, letting you see the details like the underside of their wings. Birdwatching is a relaxing pastime, and can connect you closer to nature while also honing your patience skill. You can observe birds in their natural habitats, as well as soak up the sun’s rays. My cousin Anthony Basrid and I set off to explore with our telescopes, finding a variety of birds for me to research. ✵ Red-Tailed Hawk Red-Tailed Hawks have rich brown above and pale below their bodies, with a streaked belly. Their wings’ underside have a dark bar between their shoulders and wrist, the tail showcasing a cinnamon-red above. These creatures soar high in wide circles over a field, their wing beats heavy when flapping. They attack in a slow, controlled dive with their legs outstretched. This particular type of Hawk has a thrilling, raspy scream! Red-Tailed Hawks are built for hunting, possessing powerful talons and beaks that are sharp enough to efficiently hunt their prey. They're a very vocal creature; these hawks have a loud and piercing scream that can be recognized by many. Wingspan: 4.5 ft. Location: Edges of open country fields Diet: Mammals, such as voles, rats, rabbits are its major prey; though it can sometimes eat on small birds and reptiles Pied Crow Pied Crows have a brilliant, broad while collar across the base of the black of the neck. This particular crow is actually smaller than the mundane crow. These birds are social, commonly foraging in pairs or small groups. They are inquisitive and mischievous, proving to be good at problem-solving. They’re also aggressive and often chase away larger birds such as hawks, owls, and herons. Pied crows follow bush fires to eat insects. Wingspan: 41 in. Location: Large trees Diet: Rodents, carrion, eggs and insects Great Grey Shrike The Great Grey Shrike has pale grey upperparts with a bluish wash, including the top of its head and nape to lower back. Its uppertail are pale grey too, and its upperwing is black with a white bar across. It has highly specialized feeding behavior, unique as it hunts by watching for prey from high, exposed perches. Since they lack talons, they stun or kill their prey with blows from their powerful beaks! Its song includes a collection of squeaks, thrills and chattering phrases. Wingspan: 8.1 in. Location: Open but brushy habitats; often concealed Diet: Small mammals and birds, various small vertebrates and invertebrates and large insects Helenian Goldfinch A Helenian Goldfinch is bright yellow with a black forehead, its wings black with white markings. The same white patches are both above and beneath its tail. They are an active and acrobatic bunch, clinging to weeds and seed socks, sometimes mills about in large numbers. These little finches fly with a bouncy, wavy pattern. The Goldfinch is a diurnal bird, meaning it's most active during the day. Wingspan: 7.9 in. Location: Weedy fields and floodplains Diet: Seeds, weeds and grasses Puce Robin Puce Robins are fairly large songbirds, being gray-brow with warm orange underparts and dark heads. Its belly seems to have a white patch, as well as under its tail. These robins do much of their foraging on the ground, running and pausing on open lawns. If they are not nesting, they usually forage in flocks. They find worms by staring, motionless, at the ground with the head cocked to one side. They’re commonly seen to be as strong, straight and swift fliers. Wingspan: 13.4 in. Location: Gardens, parks, fields Diet: Insects, berries, earthworms Black-Billed Cuckoo Black-Billed Cuckoos are slender, dove-sized birds. These Cuckoos are plain brown above without cinnamon tones and white below with a red ring around the eye and a black bill. Below, one can see small white tips on its tail feathers. These feathery creatures are sluggish and secretive, oftentimes hiding in dense vegetation and remaining motionless in the trees. A group of cuckoos are collectively referred to as an "asylum" of cuckoos. Wingspan: 14.7 in. Location: Dense woodlands and thickets Diet: Large insects, such as caterpillars, moths, and webworms 𓅨 A rendered likeness of Anthony Alexios Basrid by Victoria C. Kaphro, c. 1795 @BobBox

A SAILOR’S VOYAGE There you lie, Beyond the sea, You stray far from me; Your soul in water where first Life and memory began. Trekking along the beach that stretched out the waters of Elvenesse, an elfess returns to her home after her wanderlust. The smell of the salty sea brought comfort to her, matched with the sunshine filled sky. Her gaze wandered rapidly in search for denizens of the glade, eager to gain a newfound friend. Instead, she was met with a familiar virago. “Eveth,” Miven had approached her, digging into her pocket to retrieve a smoking pipe to her. “Your mal’onn..Wanted me to give this to you,” The druid had handed her the item, to which Eveth found herself thoroughly amused. A faint smile had drawn from her countenance despite her bemusement, for she had also brought gifts to give to her brother. “What a coincidence,” the elfess remarked with a flurry of fervor in her eyes while she looked about quite eagerly, “I have a few things for him as well..Where is he, by the way?” There was apparent frustration from Miven, as she was unsure how to tell the young mali’ame. “Is he injured? Ah, damn mal’onn..He always gets himself into trouble,” she mused while her gaze continued to search for her brother. However, it would soon prove to Eveth that the trinkets she were to bestow Nematsen would be futile. “Eveth, he’s become one with the sea, one with Hamsta. A fisherman he was, a gentle spirit of the ocean tides.” It was then that the death of her brother had dawned to her. Mutterings emitted from the girl while gravity drew to her shoulders as it slumped. It was as if she were a child in desperation — Unable to comprehend her loss. The duo transcended to the stone-hedge where Eveth dropped to her knees in front of it. Her fingers trailed against it as she murmured to herself, dourness looming over her. “Ne, ne...You can’t be gone. I had s-so much to tell you...So much to give you.” The Caerme’onn had watched over her, offering words of wisdom, “Eveth, this is the path that was laid out for him. Remember what I said, he is happy now, one with the sea, where he has always meant to be.” “B-But...Mal’onn’s voice. I’ve been missing it..” Akin to a lost child, she met the woman’s gaze with her own despondent ones. Therein, Miven had shepherd Eveth to another part of the island where she was told to sit on the beach. She sat close to the lapping waves, and the druid soon rounded behind the young elfess. Together, the duo were united before the vast waters, waters that toiled and collided them both, but especially Eveth in that moment. Like a lullaby to an infant’s ear, it began to speak to Eveth, something only she could understand. “You hear that, Eveth? He speaks.” The girl sat in silence, feeling eased at the sound of the sea. The gentle waves scattered the blazing sun like sequins that lay scattered from a festival. Moving through her depths, in them are schools of living; the creation that remained in her water embrace when land dwellers sought flowers and shelter of trees. It is a pulse, in a way. Relief arose from Eveth — Relief that she could finally hear Nematsen after being gone for so long. “There, there..” Miven hummed in tune with the singing sea. “I’ve prepared for this, Eveth,” And with that, she produced a black, white, and silver seashell necklace, strung together with both prudency and affection. The Bear lofted both hands to dress the piece over and around Eveth’s neck; The necklakce’s heart bearing an iridescent conch shell. When brought to one’s ear, one could hear the sounds of the ocean. “Bring the conch to your ear, suika. You’ll have his voice wherever you go; he’ll lie over your heart.” The mourning elfess couldn’t help but smile melancholically at the druid’s lulls. The lustrous shell in the middle was brought to her ear once more, where she could hear the huge waves that rolled across the surface. Tears continued to flow unchecked down her cheeks and dripped from her chin, however she let out small chortles. It was as if she had found a sort of peace to the whole ordeal. All her life, Eveth had feared loss, suppressed dealing with the notion, never ready to depart. However, she was to continue on, heeding the words that resonated within her. “Walk the Path” 𓅃

AN INTERVIEW WITH AN EMPRESS 1792 BY VICTORIA C. KAPHRO SCRIBED BY PETER MAXIMILLIAN This interview is to serve as a way to offer a different viewpoint of my grandmother in my vision. From the soldiers, politicians, nobles, and commonfolk of this empire, all have their own images of the empress. I chose my grandmother for this interview because I think it would be good to offer that side of her to the rest of the world. Learning is about viewing things from a different perspective, and I wish to help in that with this paper. With the help of my father, he and I approached Her Imperial Majesty to conduct this interview to give insight on her as a person and her thoughts. ✵ Q. What is your favorite color? Red, like the ruby of Helena Q. What is your greatest achievement? It would have to be the removal of Haense from our empire. It granted our empire the ability to progress without Haense hindering us. They refused to take part in a system that helped them, and the entirety of the empire. Q. What do you wish for the Empire I wish for the empire to be filled with pride, and continue on its path through the Tapestry of Man with our chins raised high. Q. What are your opinions of the state of the Empire? I believe we’re in an era of moral awakening — a recognition in the importance of caring for our fellow man. I am very proud of our soldiers in the ISA, especially. Q. What was your childhood like? I was a particularly shy girl, but we were in the middle of the Ruberni war then — so I was often bound to the Novellen. It was very lonely. I did often enjoy pestering our Archchancellor of the time — Simon Basrid. A fond moment with him was flying a red kite, in the shape of a dragon. I did also get to experience a Krugsmas — or Tuvsmas season, in Helena. And that was very special to me. There was snow for the entire season, if you can believe it. And the soldiers brought a tall pine tree that was decorated with baubles. Q. What is it like being empress? I’m not sure. It’s uniquely strange to finally be here, after spending my life waiting for the moment I’d need to finally face it. Q. How do you get your hair so pretty? My hair is naturally curly, you see — It’s just a matter of a few hair pins and a brush in the morning. Q. What’s your favorite thing to do in the palace and why? Well, I like to go up onto the roof. It’s the only place I won’t be bothered at. Q. What are your plans for the future of this empire? I believe I might’ve mentioned this before. I want to ensure that the men and women of the empire can have opportunity — be successful, rise to their potential. I wish for my father’s vision of ‘the man of merit’ to be coupled with a sense of morality, of acting justly under God and for the empire. Q. What is one of your favorite memories in your life? I would have to say there’s one of two things. I’d mentioned before the holiday season in Helena. I’ve always looked back fondly on those years, even if there was some grief throughout it. Moreover, I think those early mornings I used to spend — and, still do, sometimes waking up before dawn to watch the sun rise and see our neighbors, the Silvery City, be basked in the sun’s warmth. Comforts in small ways. ♔ A doodle of Her Imperial Majesty, Anne I by Victoria C. Kaphro, c. 1792

A BRIEF HELENIAN ENTOMOLOGY 1791 RESEARCHED BY VICTORIA C. KAPHRO SCRIBED BY PETER MAXIMILLIAN Among the many curiosities of the world, I had always found bugs oddly interesting. The wild is quite astonishing, and the creatures within the forests outside of our city are a fascinating delight. Insects, in particular, are the most diverse group. When I was younger, I would observe the most beautiful ladybirds in the palace gardens, and they would come in different colors. Even your own garden could be considered a whole safari, and you could find various types of critters within it. With my fascination, my father and I, with a group of our own, set off into the forests just outside of the city. I’ve decided to make a paper to present my research on the insects I’ve captured with the help of my father. ✵ Caeruleum Beetle A Caeruleum Beetle is a type of leaf beetle, meaning they are found on and near their particular food plants, among the leaves, stems, flowers, or roots they eat. Their diet consists of plants, and are quite common around gardens. The Caeruleum Beetle has a shimmering azure exoskeleton, bearing an oval body with a clubbed antenna. While this beetle may be considered pests due to feeding on leaves and such, their most unique trait is their glimmering jewel-like color. Size: 6 mm Color: Black with a metallic blue Prettiness: 8/10 Looks like a jewel! Spectral Firefly A Spectral Firefly is essentially a soft-bodied beetle. Its appearance could be interpreted as a blue ghost through the blue light it emits. Unlike usual fireflies, the luminescence it bears is characterized by a steady glow, instead of a species-specific pattern of flashes. These critters primarily feed off of nectar, or sugar water in place of natural nectar. This species in particular synchronizes their flashings among other fireflies. Size: 6.7 mm Color: Brown, but emits a blue light Prettiness:10/10 Very ethereal looking at night Stick Bug A Stick Bug’s natural camouflage makes them difficult for predators to detect; though the insect still has a form of startle displays, such as spines or toxic secretions, for a secondary line of defence. The bug has a cylindrical stick-like shape, bearing no wings, its body resembling vegetation, with bark-like tubercles. They seem to be able to manage a nocturnal lifestyle, being able to perceive through dim conditions. Size: 11 in. Color: Brown, bark-like Prettiness: 3/10 Just looks like a thin stick Honey Bee A Honey Bee are known for their construction of colonial nests from wax, and their production and storage of honey. The creature is equipped with two wings, two antennae, and three segmented body parts: the head, thorax, and abdomen. They are social insects that live in colonies, their population consisting of a single queen, drones, and thousands of worker bees. Bees gather both pollen and nectar from flowers to feed on. One may notice that you must treat a bee with care to avoid being stung. Size: 12.7 mm Color: Golden yellow with brown bands Prettiness: 5/10 Looks quite scary, but okay Helenian Cicada A Helenite Cicada, much like most cicadas, spend most of their time underground. When they emerge, they fill the air with shrill buzzing sounds above ground, which is the result of small drum-like plates on the abdomen that the cicada vibrates rapidly. This insect in particular does not bite or sting, and is quite gentle. Cicadas have prominent eyes set wide apart on the sides of the head, short antennae protruding between or in front of the eyes, and membranous front. wings. Size: 38.1 mm Color: Black, with hints of brown and turquoise Prettiness: 7/10 Cool wings! Imperial Ladybug An Imperial Ladybug is a type of beetle with a ruby-red tinge and is relatively harmless. Farmers benefit from these insects due to their diet consisting of insects that are harmful to crops. They lay eggs in batches on leaves, each larva attaching itself to a leaf or other object and becomes a pupa. As a pupa, it develops into an adult ladybug. Unlike the average ladybug, these within the city emanate a brighter hue. Size: 10.16 mm Color: Red and black Prettiness: 9/10 Looks like tiny rubies Widow Skimmer Widow Skimmers oftentimes dwell near warm waters such as ponds, marsh, or small lakes. Both females and males have transparent wings, having similar thick bands on either side. However, males have a long abdomen that is light blue, whereas females are yellow and black. Their name comes from the fact that males leave the female by herself, essentially “widowing” her as she lays her eggs. They are predators that prey on other insects such as mosquitoes, their diet consisting of small insects. Size: 46 mm Color: White, black, blue, yellow, brown Prettiness: 6/10 Male wings look cool! Clouded Yellow The Clouded Yellow is a medium-sized, golden-yellow butterfly. They arrive at any time during the spring and summer, and can be found in a variety of open habitats — particularly chalk grassland. They are identified with its bright yellowy-orange upperwing surfaces, lined with broad, dark edges, and a yellowy-green underside. One may notice they are not seen in the winter due to their inability to survive in cold temperatures. Size: 58 mm Color: Yellow with hints of light green Prettiness: 9/10 Quite fluffy looking The likeness of the band of people during the trip by Victoria C. Kaphro, c. 1791

Hope you’re having a good day !! ♡ : )

Victoria Clementine stood patiently as her mother took her measurements, her arms raised as she watched with intrigue. Though she was apprehensive with large crowds, a flurry of ardor was present in her meager voice. "I can't wait for the All Ha-Ha-Ha..." Gulping, she casted her gaze to and fro while taking a pause to compose herself, "Ha...Hallow's Spectacle, Imma!"
-
A doleful woman read through the missive, a lavish smile dissipating her dejected look, reminiscing a time when her brother was a mere child. Petting at the hound named after her kin, she paraded off to prepare for the two’s coupling.
-
Eveth took hold of the proferred missive, curiosity arousing from within as she began to skim through. The young elfess’ usual jubilant expression contorted to that of bafflement — stifling a cringe as she merely nodded profusely in concurrence to her mentor.
-
Eleanor Victoria, despite being in her dejected state, felt a feeble sense of warmth upon being personally invited to the wedding. The dowager meandered through her lonesome bedchambers to ready herself for the illustrious coupling.
