Half of the fun of magic was the search.  Some people didn't learn magic because of who their characters came off as.  I'm fine with the idea of making things equal in regards to tier, now anyone can call themselves a wizard but their still limited in regards to their level of power, but I feel as if this change might have come a little early without a finished magic plugin for next to no players can actually make use of one.

And a lot of people that are quite ignorant of specific subtypes will suddenly have said subtype. There is a large flaw in this all: Most people don't understand what their doing. If people new their subtype to a T, I'd have no issue, trust me.

Or maybe this will just bring about a new sort of magic roleplay; not an instant win anymore, but respected mages will rise above the rest and players will feel far more inclined to roleplay fight them (think: blundermore, sagwort, lucas black, lol no one even knows who these people are besides blundermore).

I'm sorry but this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. So, I can now be any form of mage I want without any work? Cool. Lovely. It's stupid and makes magic worthless, but lovely. And magic means nothing now because now it's all PvP Default? Ok, so what's the point of magic then? Like, normally being the PvP default guy I am I would be happy about this. But no. This is horrifying and will end in a train wreck.

Welp , no point spending hours of RP finding a teacher to have fun times anymore. This is basically cutting RP for magic users since anyone can use magic. They don't even need to find RP.
