Like.... what the hell are you guys thinking. This will completely screw over any magic user, at all.

 

No. Magic isn't an instant 'I win because I wrote an application 4 months ago' tool anymore. It'll open up to more creative roleplay.

If you want the 'Aegis feel' back to magic, all you need to do is give me lightning, mob spawning and fireball spells and I can go on a rampage

I give it a month to work. First month will have a helluva ton of nubs running around with magics.

 

Then hopefully it'll fade to how it was before the MAT. Overall, an interesting decision. Let's see how it plays out.

So if PVP is default on mages, what is the point of magic again?

 

Creative roleplay and interesting characters? A fun alternative for RP combat, if all those around consent to it.

I don't mind a nerf or removal of MAs, since the "I have magic therefore I must be better at roleplay than you or have friends in higher places" mentality was getting old, but

And a lot of people that are quite ignorant of specific subtypes will suddenly have said subtype. There is a large flaw in this all: Most people don't understand what their doing. If people new their subtype to a T, I'd have no issue, trust me.
