Let Loose The Magic!

You know a Roleplay Server is going in the wrong direction, when instead of people practicing Roleplay and being with friends, the people practice PVP. This is just taking away a large aspect of the magic. Soon Everyone will have Scourge Magic because they saw someone do it..

No, seriously, this is just terrible. The fact that there's no compensation for those who've just had months of work put to waste is absolutely atrocious. This is literally a 1 sided victory; There is absolutely no benefit for the people who've essentially lost their months of progress. I don't care if they shouldn't be worried about their power; I say they should. Why is wanting more power from magic wrong? Why is creating a child character of a noble or royal in a matter of minutes because the king is your best buddy 'right'? This literally only benefits people who didn't already have magic, and I think I'd be mad too if I wasn't one of them.

Yeah!

as a GM you are meant to be setting an example and not spitting your dummy out and acting like a baby that's dropped it's toy.

Stop acting like a child and stop fanning the flames.

I AM NOW MASTAH NECROMANCER, WHY? BECAUSE NO ONE CARES! OUT THE WINDOW WITH THE MAGIC! LETS GO PVP DEFAULT EVERYTHING! I'M GOING TO GO BURN DOWN FORESTS WITH MY MIND.

Enough with the sillyness... This is possibly one of the worst, idiotic, and most pointless things the server staff have done.

-9001

- Mages who have worked hard for their place are now worthless

- Anyone can haz teh mageek

- Magic is now worthless

- OMG PVP SO MUCH FUN SPAM CLICKY CLICKY CLICKITYCLICKCLICK,

- Nexus is gone, pvp is even worse, and no magic pvp plugin

- I'm going to see so many people sparking, lighting on fire and raising the dead, instant healing those mofos with teh clerical mageeks...

- I liked it, I didn't have magic but so what? When I saw a mage, I was worried. I'd be fighting something powerful, depending on the circumstance at least. Now I can just say "Oh goody gracious, strap on that bootylicious Iron armor and lets get to clicking our mouses until one of us dies! So much for RP fighting!"

- If I try to RP fight, people will just say "Charges uber fire nova with my T5 Fire magic I learned in a day that no one monitors.

- This will end... BADLY...

- Lots of other things.

I dislike these changes however I believe they are for the best. Let's just hope the first few weeks are not going to be one of those 'happy' weeks where everyone uses the change. :/

I'm a GM, yes.

I am allowed my own opinion, yes.

I am not fanning any flame.

I am standing up for my opinion and the opinion of others.

This topic has been locked.

No, I'm not locking this topic because I dislike that a staff decision is not fully agreed with. No, I'm not locking this because people are flaming. No, I'm not locking this because I'm a dictatorial, unrelenting, hateful Admin that doesn't care what people think. I AM locking this because there are WAY too many people letting loose their ideas at once, and it's impossible to keep up with it all.

With this many replies coming in at once, it's impossible to look at everything, and thus with every thing that you say, there's a good chance that someone else said it and that someone else already answered or responded to it, creating an endless cycle of things that will be said redundantly and without a purpose. We can't do anything in a situation like this, there's nothing to take, only that there are a LOT of differing opinions. That is why this thread is being locked, as leaving it open serves no purpose at this point.

For those of you that still have a lot to say, I now direct you to our feedback forum. I suggest posting a thread FULLY detailing everything you like or dislike about this decision, though I also suggest waiting a little as there will likely be 10 people posting the exact same thread as you at the exact same time.

P.S. Sorry if you were in the middle of writing something and posted it only to find that the thread was locked and you lost what you wrote. This couldn't have been avoided.

Edited the original post to list universal and restricted magic types.
