Remove lockpicking, its frankly pointless since everyone has a VA for lockpicking, and lwc chests are still subjugated to lockpicking. 

 

And I have never seen lockpicking provide rp to the victim, just to the thief and to the GM.

 

Chests should only be able to be broken into when you raid.

 

Please remove lockpicking.

 

I've only seen four or five people able to roleplay it properly (hint: *bends down and picks the lock is not proper).

 

It's terrible rp so players can get dem sum itemz!!!11. Remove. Disgust. Pls.

Remove lock-picking until a lock-picking plug-in is developed and implemented. Thieves can hold off on that aspect of their trade for the sake of allowing free, instant, open-ended role-play development for the entire community.

 

As for players killing others for their own self-interest, this already happens on a monstrous scale. Most of our wars are waged over such folly. The majority of the offenders are usually approved villains and there are various loopholes that non-villains can use to justify a clean kill in self-defense.

These two problems are solved. Remove Villain Applications.

First: Maps! 

While the Dynmap is very nice, it needs some additions, markers need to be placed on it not only denoting where spawn is, but where the major cities are aswell as the races that are the majority there. My friend recently joined and as I don't have a good internet connection where I am currently, I was unable to join him, and he spent the first week of playing wandering around, almost getting mugged for an apple, and fumbling his way towards the dwarven capital, so some map markers would be nice. 

 

Next: VA's!

I truly don't understand all the hate for VA's, I feel like they do hold back players, yes, but in a good way. You have to think about your characters actions, think if it really fits their character and write a reason why. Sure "Because they want to" CAN be a viable reason, but there should be some regulation as to who can be a V and who cannot.

 

That being said, for those that might abuse it, it isn't mutually fun. Or as a previous post, sometimes the killing or stealing "because I want to" or "Felt like it" because of voices or boredom aren't mutually fun. You're trapped in a situation where your character is going to get injured, loose all their equipment, and wake up with no memory at the cloud temple. That doesn't sound very fun at all.

 

I've been mugged in the game for no reason, walking out of the Cloud Temple with nothing but my starter gear after being away from the server for a while, luckily the people WERE good RPers, and were kind enough to let me walk away from the situation and walk back to the cloud temple after my character was killed in RP.

 

I, personally, dislike PVP and the whole reason I joined this server was because I needed an escape from servers (without VA's) that were rampant with people running up to you and killing for no reason, or no conversation.

 

The application processes have changed greatly since I applied, and I'm sure they will in the future as well as all things do, while I definitely do not support the removal of VA's, I don't think changing them will be a bad thing. (though, this is coming from someone who has no interest in creating a villainous character at the time of this posting)

 

TL;DR: I don't think removing VA's is a good idea, but perhaps some changes are in order

I would seriously suggest implementing perma-death for all characters killed IRP, with or without permission. I know that this will never ever happen ever never.

 

Tough, yeah, but it is amusing to see an entire town freak out and lynch a murderer.

 

And the murderer be dead forever.
