The Clergymen make there way up the stairs of the Church.

At the entry of the ministers a hymn is sung.

The Greeting

The bishop greets the people
Blessed be The Creator, The Most Favored Son And Holy Light.
All Blessed be his kingdom, now and for ever. So say we all.

Bishop John introduces the service

God calls his people to follow the faith, and forms us into a royal priesthood, a holy nation, to declare the wonderful deeds of him who has called us out of darkness into his marvellous light.
The Church is the House of God, the people of God and the dwelling-place of the Holy Light. In ablution the whole Church is summoned to witness to God's love and to work for the coming of his kingdom.

To serve this royal priesthood, God has given particular ministries. High Pontiffs are ordained to be shepherds of Horen’s flock and guardians of the faith, proclaiming the word of God's kingdom and leading his people in mission. Obedient to the call of God and in the power of the Holy Light, they are to gather God's people and celebrate with them the sacraments of the new covenant. Thus formed into a single communion of faith and love, the Church in each place and time is united with the Church in every place and time.
Prayers of Penitence

Almighty and most merciful Creator,
we have wandered and strayed from your ways
like lost sheep.
We have followed too much the devices and desires
of our own hearts.
We have offended against your holy laws.
We have left undone those things
that we ought to have done;
and we have done those things
that we ought not to have done;
and there is no health in us.
But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us sinners.
Spare those who confess their faults.
Restore those who are penitent,
according to your promises declared to mankind
in Horen our Lord.
And grant, O most merciful Creator, for his sake,
that we may live a disciplined, righteous and godly life,
to the glory of your holy name.
So say we all.

The Presentation

The Anointed is presented
Reverend Father in God, Archbishop Signus has been chosen to be High Pontiff of the Faithful . We present him to be Crowned and Anointed to the office of High Pontiff in the Church of God.

The Bishop asks

Do you believe him to be of godly life and sound learning?

Those presenting respond

We do.

Do you believe him to be duly called to serve God in this ministry?

We do.

The Bishop turns to the Anointed and says

Do you believe that God is calling you to this ministry?

Anointed  I do so believe.

Bishop  Let the authority for the Anointed be read.

The Provincial Registrar reads the Royal Mandate.

Bishop John: Archbishop Signus, you have taken the oath of allegiance to the Church and the oath of due obedience. You are now required to make the Declaration of Assent.

The Bishop then reads the Preface to the Declaration of Assent.

The Church of Faithful is the One, Holy and Rightful Church of the Creator , worshiping the one true God, The Creator. It professes the faith uniquely revealed in the Holy Scrolls and set forth in the Faithful creeds, which faith the Church is called upon to proclaim afresh in each generation. Led by the Holy Light, it has borne witness to Faithful truth in its historic formulates, the Articles of Faith, The Book of Saints. In the declaration you are about to make, will you affirm your loyalty to this inheritance of faith as your inspiration and guidance under God in bringing the grace and truth of Horen to this generation and making Him known to those in your care?

Anointed I, Signus Cross, do so affirm, and accordingly declare my belief in the faith which is revealed in the Holy Scrolls and set forth in the Faithful creeds and to which the historic formularies of the Church of The Creator bear witness; and in public prayer and administration of the sacraments, I will use only the forms of service which are authorized or allowed by Canon.

The Collect
The Pontiff introduces a period of silent prayer with the following bidding or other suitable words
Let us pray for Signus, and for the ministry of the whole people of God.

The Bishop says the Collect of the Day.

God our Creator, Lord of all the world,
through your Favored Son you have called us into the fellowship
of your universal Church:
hear our prayer for your faithful people
that in their vocation and ministry
each may be an instrument of your love,
and give to your servant Signius now to be Anointed
the needful gifts of grace;
through you our Lord and Saviour
who is forever alive and reigns over us,
one God, now and for ever.

All

So say we all.

The Anointed stands before the Pontiff, who addresses the congregation

High Pontiffs are called to serve and care for the flock of Horen. Mindful of the Good Shepherd. they are to love and pray for those committed to their charge, knowing their people and being known by them. As principal ministers of word and sacrament, stewards of the mysteries of God, they are to preside at the Lord's table and to lead the offering of prayer and praise.

They are to cleanse and confirm, nurturing God's people in the life of the Light and leading them in the way of holiness. They are to discern and foster the gifts of the Light in all who follow God, commissioning them to minister in his name. They are to preside over the ordination of deacons and priests, and join together in the ordination of bishops.

As chief pastors, it is their duty to share with their fellow presbyters the oversight of the Church, speaking in the name of God and expounding the truth of salvation. With the Shepherd's love, they are to be merciful, but with firmness; to minister discipline, but with compassion. They are to have a special care for the poor, the outcast and those who are in need. They are to seek out those who are lost and lead them home with rejoicing, declaring the absolution and forgiveness of sins to those who turn to the faith.

Following the example of the prophets and the teaching of the saints, they are to proclaim the word boldly, confront injustice and work for righteousness and peace in all the world.

The Bishop addresses the Anointed directly

Signus, we trust that you have weighed and pondered all this, and that you are now fully determined to devote yourself to this ministry to which God has called you. We pray that you may offer to him your best powers of mind and spirit, so that as you follow the rule and teaching of our Lord you may grow up into his likeness, and sanctify the lives of all with whom you have to do. And now, in order that we may know your mind and purpose, you must make the declarations we put to you.

Do you accept the Holy Scrolls as revealing all things necessary for eternal salvation through faith?

Anointed I do so accept them.

Will you be diligent in prayer, in reading Holy Scrolls, and in all studies that will deepen your faith and fit you to bear witness to the truth of the Word?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you lead your people in proclaiming the glorious Word of Horen, so that the good news of salvation may be heard in every place?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you teach the doctrine of Horen as the Church of Faith has received it, will you refute error, and will you hand on entire the faith that is entrusted to you?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you be faithful in ordaining and commissioning ministers of the Church?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you be gentle and merciful for Horen’s sake to those who are in need, and speak for those who have no other to speak for them?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you endeavour to fashion your own life and that of your household according to the way of God and make your home a place of hospitality and welcome?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you work with your fellow servants in the Church for the sake of the kingdom of God?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you accept the discipline of this Church, exercising authority with justice, courtesy and love, and always holding before you the example of Horen?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

Will you then, in the strength of the Holy Light, continually stir up the gift of God that is in you, that the good news of God may be proclaimed in all the Realm?

Anointed By the help of God, I will.

The congregation stands and the Anointed turns and faces them.

Brothers and sisters, you have heard how great is the charge that Signius is ready to undertake, and you have heard his declarations. Is it now your will that he should be Anointed ?

All  It is

Bishop Will you continually pray for him?

All We will.

Bishop Will you uphold and encourage him in his ministry?

All We will.

The Anointed turns to face the Bishop, who continues

Signius, remember always with thanksgiving that God has entrusted to your care his own flock.
You are to govern Horen’s people in truth, lead them out to proclaim the good news of the kingdom, and prepare them to stand before him when at last he comes in glory.

You cannot bear the weight of this calling in your own strength, but only by the grace and power of God. Pray therefore that you may be conformed more and more to the image of God's favored Son, so that through the outpouring of the Holy Light your life and ministry may be made holy and acceptable to God. Pray earnestly for the gift of the Holy Light.

The Anointed kneels and silence is kept. The choir starts to sing.

Come, Holy Light, our souls inspire,
and lighten with celestial fire;
thou the anointing Light art,
who dost thy sevenfold gifts impart.
Thy blessed unction from above
is comfort, life and fire of love;
enable with perpetual light
the dullness of our blinded sight.
Anoint and cheer our soiled face
with the abundance of thy grace;
keep far our foes, give peace at home;
where thou art guide no ill can come.
Teach us to know the Creator, Favored Son,
and thee; that through the ages all along
this may be our endless song:
Praise to thy eternal merit,
Creator, Favored Son and Holy Light. So say we all.

Two Priest walk behind the Anointed and place the Pallium of the High Pontiff onto his shoulders, the Anointed stands and looks towards the other gathered clergymen and people.

"I vow to change nothing of the received Tradition, and nothing thereof I have found before me guarded by my God-pleasing predecessors, to encroach upon, to alter, or to permit any innovation therein;

To the contrary: with glowing affection as her truly faithful student and successor, to safeguard reverently the passed-on good, with my whole strength and utmost effort;

To cleanse all that is in contradiction to the canonical order, should such appear; to guard the Holy Canons and Decrees of our Saints and Pontiffs as if they were the divine ordinance of Heaven, because I am conscious of Thee, whose place I take through the Grace of God, whose Vicarship I possess with Thy support, being subject to severest accounting before Thy Divine Tribunal over all that I shall confess;

I swear to God Almighty and the Favored son Horen that I will keep whatever has been revealed through Horen and His Successors and whatever the Saints and my predecessors have defined and declared.

I will keep without sacrifice to itself the discipline and the rite of the Church. I will put outside the Church whoever dares to go against this oath, may it be somebody else or I.

If I should undertake to act in anything of contrary sense, or should permit that it will be executed, Thou willst not be merciful to me on the dreadful Day of Divine Justice.

Accordingly, without exclusion, We subject to severest excommunication anyone -- be it Ourselves or be it another -- who would dare to undertake anything new in contradiction to this constituted Tradition and the purity of the Faith and the Faithful religion, or would seek to change anything by his opposing efforts, or would agree with those who undertake such a blasphemous venture."

As he ends his oath Bishop John steps behind him and a priest steps in-front of him bowing and handing him the Crosier the High Pontiff Staff, while Bishop John places the mitre onto his head, as he places it he says.
