A Hauptmanns Passing...

Ford sits, staring down at his reflection in the still, calm river. To any who would have known him before his sudden disappearance, he looked a mere shadow of his former self. His hair was long, dirty and dry, falling little below his shoulders. He had grown a thick, bushy beard which covered over his mouth and lips. He was noticeably skinnier than before. Only flesh and bone. Any trace of fat and muscle on him had vanished. His distinctive grey eyes had a sad look to them. A look of loneliness and desperation.

He let out a sharp sigh. He had retreated deep into the Anthos wildlands after his daughter's untimely death, leaving no trace of his departure and telling nobody of his plans. At first, it was all going great. He was able to build himself a cosy shack near to the river, and spent his days fishing and hunting. He spent his days in peace.

But time passed, and food shortages ran low. He had lost the will and determination to go out and hunt anymore. He had tried returning home, to his family. But the path had became oblivious to him. He truly was alone and lost.

Ford stood, giving himself a slight nod of acknowledgement. The time was coming, he knew. His body was growing weaker with every passing moment. He had some goodbyes to make.

He slowly hobbled up to his shack, swinging the door open. He sat down at his oak-wood desk, pulling an inkwell and paper from the loose cupboard. He began to write.

Excuse my terrible writing. I was born a soldier, not a scribe. But I suppose in my last few hours, I should give it a try, hm?

I’d wished to live to see another day, but it seems my time has come. Yes, I am still alive. I can’t say where, or how, but I’m still breathing. For now, at least…

Below are some last few words to dear friends and family, I ask that they only be for the eyes of whomever intended.

To my father, Alistier Stafyr

Father, I’m sorry. Truly, I am. I regret the things I did, Zyphria would have lived if I had done better. The poor girls death was my fault. I’m no better than a kinslayer. I wish we had been able to say goodbye in person. I don’t even know whether or not this letter will reach you. But please, forgive me.

I will always love you,

-Ford.

To my cousin and Lord of House Stafyr, Farley the II.

Cousin, I have shamed our house and for that I am sorry. I have sinned and sinned, and it is only now as I write this I realise my fate is sealed. The Creator will not forgive me so easy, I know that. I will not pass into the Seven Skies or the Kingdom of Heaven. But you are my cousin. My flesh and blood. Find it in you to forget the past.

May you live long and our House forever prosper,

-Ford.

To Beron Sturm.

Your wisdom has guided me through many parts of life. I never knew your father personally, but I’m sure he’d be proud, bastard or not. Thank you.

So long,

-Ford.

To Godwein II. Stafyr.

We never really saw eyes to eye, but you are family nonetheless. Some words of advice: Stop looking for others to blame

Take care,

-Ford.

To Henry Stark.

I owe alot to you. If it wasn’t for you, my daughter would have been dead a lot sooner. You were my only true friend, and the memories we share are most certainly fond ones. The whorehouse, the taverns. I’m laughing just remembering it all as I write this. Take care of your wife and daughter. They’ll need you

See you on the other side, my old friend

-Ford.

Ford nods slightly, dispatching birds to deliver the messages. He hobbles over to his bed, closing his eyes. He drifts off, and his soul passes into the afterlife…

(( Well, there we go. Fords death post. Sorry it’s a bit mediocre, this is my first PK post. Ford was a blast to play and RP. I’d like to thank 1gamer12 for constructing such a character for me and Emenzi for accepting me into the family ))

Sits in his study as he receives the letter, he reads through it and crosses his chest as he quietly speaks with himself.

"The creator is forgiving, you shall see that cousin, may your soul finally find peace" he smiles faintly as he goes to prepare a tomb beneath Schattenburg.

Serenity, Henry's wife, purses her lips as she gets Henry's letter. She's a nosey one, so it was only natural she would be the first to read it. She sighs, shaking her head solemnly. She contemplates getting Henry to gather together a search party, but judging by the way the letter was written he probably died before it arrived...

"rest in peace..." She mumbles, leaving the letter on the table for Henry.

(( Permaception. Somehow, I felt that gamers PK was more efficient than mine. Short and to the point... ))

((I liked reading yours. I think the character Gamer just PK'd didn't have much of a lengthy post describing his death/leaving because I don't honestly think he's played that character in like...forever. I've never seen him play it, that's for certain.))

(( To be fair, I didn't really need to give Ford a lengthy, detailed death post either. I haven't kept track of how long I've been inactive on him, but it's definitely been a while lol. I just wanted to as I enjoyed RPing and felt the need to give him closure ))
