They keep getting out of date, which is nightmare when it comes to bans. The server rules still have RP Default for Magi in them.

I propose one of the admins, ideally the same one that posts the Monthly Update, has the task of checking through the rules every month to ensure they're up to date, and then posting a section on Rule Changes in the monthly update itself, even if there aren't any. This has the threefold effect of reminding said admin to check the rules monthly, informing the playerbase of rule updates and most importantly of all, keeping the rules up to date!

The rules have been outdated for so long. Getting ridiculous how often I have to link server maintenance threads to guys saying that such and such isn't a rule.

I have to agree with this, I would like rules changes in up-most every few months to see what is the best for the server in wise of to keep most of the player-base, happy at one time.

Yeah I have a rules thread in the GM forums where everyone is commenting and evaluating, I couldn't figure out how to change the actual "RULES" page now that we got rid of wordpress - I'll go poke around

Don't forget the ban report screenshot cropping rule! That one keeps getting left out despite being having good reasons behind it.

Without having the ability to screenshot while in Chat anymore, the rule is outdated already and useless.  You have to gyazo the things screenshot now, you're basically always cropping it if anything now.

I'm starting to think it might be wise to create a little group who look for things like this that works with the GM's/Admins to get these things fixed. It doesn't even need to be an official staff position, just a group of five or six people who look for easily resolved issues that might be overlooked by the community. I think that may be similar to the intended function of the AIC, but given the fact that we have a few highly responsive admins right now, I think this would probably work pretty well.

If you run minecraft in 1.7.4 instead of 1.7.2 (it's still compatible with the server) you can screenshot the chat.

 

But yes, the rules page needs to be kept updated. You can't blame people for not knowing rules that aren't in the rules.
