(Ooc) Not Fun Anymore.

The conclave keeps getting raided, and I know that all server rules say that this is ok. But its not fun anymore. I understand that raids are a real rp things that happens IRL, as well as fallings of nations. That kind of stuff happens all the time in character. But feeling helpless in a virtual simulation seems just pointless. I feel many people might be leaving and the elven nation would be lost.

Consistently depriving another player (or players) of their fun for your own personal gain or amusement, even after receiving appropriate warnings, is punishable if deemed necessary by the moderation teams. This may also be considered harassment. Essentially, don't be a troublesome player that only plays to annoy others or be a nuisance.

 

Now I know that we might not be being raided just to make us mad, but it certainly feels that way.

 

I personaly see no way to fix this without severly breaking server lore.

 

I speak for myself and I hope several other people. It just seems to me, the elfs have fallen as a nation.

 

 

 

 

------ PERSONAL THOUGHTS----------------( not so important)

 

 

To me the elfs mean a lot. because Its the one race I can feel at home. I find the dwarfs and humans to be difficult to be around. And certain orcs... are abusive to me over teamspeak.

 

The Kha and Mori don't realy count because they just piggyback of the elven nation.

 

Without the elfs, I have no character to play.

Nation of oren

 

Pigheadedness, my input seemed to have no effect on what the nation of oren did. They killed random peasents IC and then complained OOCly why they didn't have any farmers left.

 

I never was welcomed really, I mean I got a rp job and never got paid. slayed monsters untill I ran out of sticks to make swords...  It would have been ok if there were some middle class people. Because a large number of them are royaly, OOCly they feel no need to think about other players.

 

I could RP an elf that lives in Oren but they would not repsect me. Similar to how America treated people of darker skined people back in the 60's

 

Dwarfern nation.

 

Were is your capitol. you change it every 3 weeks. I can't pronounce anythings you say and you only ever come online for battles that you seem to metagame your way into. You are never online and all your roads are coated with snow so I constantly get lost. Just no...

 

Orc nation.

 

You guys were great... a few years ago. But then certain GM's started baning random orcs at spawn, and was an extream **** to all of the orcs oocly. After that, you all became grouchy and unpleasant to be around. Abusive, and hardly any of you stood up for me. It seemed like all the orcs in power hated me.

 

 

Other options

 

A small village in the wilds... oh right. yes I'd get tons of Rp there.

A monk... yes, my monk app would be accepted instantly with MY reputation on the server.

A merchant... Mm..Hmm yes I could sell all the crops I had without any permissions to farm anywere.

We've changed our capital /once/ in the history of Anthos, if you can't pronounce "'ello meh name beh Billy Bob n' I'm frum teh dwarven Kingdom ov' Urguan!" then maybe you need some english lessons. We don't only ever come online for battles as all the people who show up for battles are active dwarven rp'ers. We metagame our way into battles? Think about what you just said, slap yourself across the face then continue with your life. We are online, just maybe you don't see us? Also the only roads coated in snow are in the west of our lands, the abandoned part, all of the roads to our current towns are clear. Your opinion on us? Just no...

Why is it that no one knows where Kal'Ithrun is? Its literally in the CENTER of the map, right by the cloud temple. You cant miss it! Just pass the human barricade and go straight, and you see a GIANT castle thing that has a sign in front of it clearly stating it is the dwarven capitol. I mean come on! We moved our capital once, and we moved it to the center of the map! It takes 1 minute to run from spawn to Kal'Ithrun, and even now, that the humans have boycotted the entry into the south, im sure you can still sneak into the south quite easily, increasing the travel time to a maximum of 5 minutes from spawn.

Friend, we have not fallen. We will continue to fight back, work our defenses and make ourselves as hard to get into as Haelun'or.

Its not fun, you are right. We are picked on by the Orcs, dwarves..... And Sariants every day just to get loot, which they take from their alts to the other characters they own. 

The Dwarves, some not all, have made alt human bandit characters to raid us for the fact, and I shall quote some one from their nation as 'You are a bunch of cybering F****t elves and we won't take you seriously, all you do is complain, and I don't want to RP with you or your nation until you...' please forgive me, I can't remember the exact wording after that, but it was under the accord of removing all Gender Benders from our nation and deny them the right to RP such a character.

I will state again, that the dwarves who have done this don't represent the entire nation. They have a fairly chill playerbase, but they really need to stop making alts to PVP us, come on your main characters and do it or go to a PVP server to get your fix.

 

The Orcs broke raid rules today, they sent two 8 man raids on us. However, a lot of Orcs again are pretty chill, but they could stop with the raids 24/7. Orcs raid 'everyone' in lore, they just kill. This could be excused if I ever saw them fight another nation but us during the week to the same extent, or a reasonable proportion to it. And usually its a /very/ specific group of Orcs that all seem to have Sariant Characters as well.

 

Fun fact: We have been raided 53 times this week.

 

So please, Garret, I promise you now, I will help tomorrow when I get home build larger walls, and larger fortifications to keep them out. I as the head of the military am failing you, and I am betraying the player base we promised to protect with the new nation. We get picked on for 'rebelling', the reality is we currently have a OOC national policy to not complain at the little things, after 53 raids, we started complaining with a convincing argument.

I hope the player base will forgive me for complaining, I just wanted to say my opinions as a player on the server, because over the 53 raids its started to become 'Lord of the defend this hill' then a roleplay server. I want to roleplay again, I barely have this week. 

We were raided consecutivly by the Antags, Sariant Orcs and then VonAlus' other orc groups today, I again apologize that I am undermanned and over worked when trying to do the job my friends on the server need me to do, but I will try. Because you deserve to RP how you want, and I believe in that. 

I have actually nearly comprimised a good friendship of mine, because of these events. I am hurt, quite badly, because a person who has literally watched my back and saved my ass... well, I snapped at them, I snapped and due to circumstances I might not get that back. This week has taken a toll on my ability to enjoy the server.

I am on the same page as you, if it isn't elven rp it's not worth my time. People are going to actively bring you down for the stupidest of reasons, just stick with it and know you've the higher ground.

 

Perhaps try and reevaluate your character, do something new. Have him become a smith or alchemists. Or perhaps make him  super racist thalmor (Which is hella fun to be. You can have tons of fun being a racist elf) Make a guild the is elven lore based, perhaps have a group of people that kill elves who do not act like elves. Or maybe an elven smith organization.

 

Try to stick with it, if you can't take it anymore just take a break for awhile (I had to do it all the time). Inform the raiders that they're doing this too frequently and constantly, making the server unfun. The elven nation has the most potential to be the most fun, if the constant flaming would end. (You can't expect progress when everyone and their grandmother constantly brings you two steps back for every step forward you make) You need to actively stand up, change their minds, and change the elven nation (Good elven characters do this)

Maybe there should be some rule in place. That one nation can not the the only target of a raid group. Like for it to be against server rules to raid the same place 3 times, without raiding someone else. Like Lima said Orcs raid " Everyone ", meaning that other nations should be raided as well.

The term "Why can't we be friends" Isn't really an option, but I like that because angry nations makes good RP. The only problem is that historically, nations WILL fall. But due to it being a simulated RP server, there are tiny rules that must be followed.

A good solution for the Conclave could just be luck.  If some sort of natural disaster were to happen in our favor, it could save the nation, and bring us back into spirit.

I would like to add some ooc input on defencive building of the conclave. A moat and drawbridge would help a lot. If not that then at least a hot oil cauldron.

 

 

Also in terms to RP difficulty, I feel like I cannot RP my character anymore. during the last raid I was killed, but because I was a Malinorian refugee I had all my stuff on me. I do not have a house and my character is sciocialy inept. Currently his can only reuse phrases he used before his head trauma.  I feel I should just kill him off now. I really like how Archealon has developed over time, but I fear his time may be up.  Any input on what I can do.
