An Expedition To An Ancient City

 Share

Recommended Posts

Notes are posted around the major cities of Anthos, all recruiting for an expedition of sorts.

"In the south-eastern quarter of Anthos, a large ruin of a city has been discovered. The architecture is unlike anything of the area, and the site is almost fully buried in sand - leading one to believe that it is only recently uncovered by the movement of wind in the area.

The city is almost assuredly untouched, a strange magical field surrounding it. Conversation with the being that first gave hint to the location makes apparent that this city holds some importance to Anthos, be it ours or the world known to those that came before.

Treasure hunters will be likely find some sort of loot as a reward for their efforts. They will be permitted to take anything that is not required for study.

Scholars will find the area even more rewarding. The city is a chance to look at a ruin untouched by anything but nature, and it is hinted that there may even be information related to our modern scourge problem within.

For all those interested, we will meet in a camp south of the ruin on the elven day following this, and then move north. From here, we will work on finding a way past this magical field.

The city awaits us.

Zogrocka looks upon his old city... He wonders why people are going to search it, they'll find nothing but his old diapers.

"I will attend, and bring with me the tools necessary for delving into ruins as well as my lock picking equipment so we can access any locked gates and the like."

Grand King Wulfgar Grandaxe takes a raven feathered quill, writing out a small note that he then goes on to nail beneath the original notice.

"As a dwarf who holds a great interest in the history of these lands, I would be glad to attend if I am available. If I can do so, I will see about ensuring there are a small group of dwarves present to take part in this expedition.

- Grand King Wulfgar Grandaxe."

A small addition is posted to some of the notes, namely the ones in larger population centers.

"Those that bring larger groups will likely receive larger portions of loot, for the study and treasury".

Myth adjusts his gauntlets. He knew the city was important, but magical forces kept him out previous to this.

Somewhere, a (suprisingly bored) cleric and inventor reads the poster. The white cloaked man mutters to himself,

"Yes... This could hold the secrets of every question we have on the scourge, as well as the population of Anthos before we came here. Not to mention the artifacts and devices that lie within..."

Mandru frowns, however. He sensed danger... Grave danger. The inhabitants of the city must have died for some reason. Or perhaps they were alive, self-sustaining within. Either way, he was a man of science and a man of faith. He HAD to go to solve this mystery: one he'd wondered since the attack by the Northmen on Hanseti so many years ago.

He picks up his golden staff, sheaths his steel battlesabere, and heads to search for the camp mentioned in the poster.
