Swgrclan 2682 Share Posted February 27, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd_8CxULYqk Something dwelt the night; marched frozen fields, stalked the shadows of the land and carried with them a mass of construction utilities. It was no mere building-party that trekked across the frozen waste of Lenfarthing -- no explorers, nomads or wilds' men. They were blackened, and their armor was too -- groaning and growling as they marched with wretched carts in-tow. They were Northern drudges; obediently following a master -- whom of which did not seem as mindless as its' immolated minion kin.Their leader was clad in ragged robes of blackened, bruised and torn flesh of many; a frozen staff in-hand as he led the small army to a snow-ridden clearing within what was once a peaceful hobbit-halmet. Rhaegos... the Shadow of the West. That was his name -- one of the first of his kind, the Dreygur, serving alongside his brother Uskar the Defiler. Their path halted upon the designated clearing with a sharp, ragged command issued by the rot and frost-ridden commander; and with but a few more lines of a dark dialect only the tainted and dark-minded know of barked, the various Drudges went to work - their work transpired and went into the night; the sounds of rampart construction work and the flaring of black, immolating fire ripping through the night sky. In under a week, the gathered force had erected a mighty fortress-- a bulwark against their enemies, nestled upon a battleground drenched with the blood of the betrayed and the blackened of both flesh and heart. The courtyard bore wide spaces and easily-accessible pockets in the walls; showing those that had stacked the black pillars and crimson brick high knew much of what they were doing. Tucked behind the safe, secure barrier of blackened iron bars patrolled the Prophet -- a frightening creature, one who had shown it's worth through the years under it's forced service to Setherian. But it was not mere walls and the hovering, tainted shard that made up this blight upon the land. Tunnels ran under -- they reached out into the dead soils like corrupted roots, bearing ill-omens for those fool-hardy and brave enough to pass the gate and it's ever-present guards; if they would even manage. But even then -- something would halt their path. A black gas that seemed to drift up from the corruptive hold's very core. A dark mist - a miasma, mayhaps - originating from the very same roots that clawed their way into the waste's soils. The miasma seems to hover over the entirety of the fortress and especially so within it. However... it seems too abundant to be assumed as but a mere defensive tool. Perhaps something darker dwells the depths of Dunru-ru'ithurzu... something that it's towering walls and mists had been formed for the sake of it's protection. -=+*+=- [[ This build's intended to be a little hub for the Dreygur, Dreygur-cultists and Harbingers to gather and use as a sort of conduit to send drudge-forces from into various settlements and cities. The goal I had in mind when creating this structure was to try to emulate a sort of 2.0-Snowy Fields in Anthos and to give more of a real contact between the Scourge and the five races depending on how they choose to interact with eachother. I have high hopes for this outpost, and any comments (alongside RP posts) would be highly appreciated! Thanks for reading. EDIT: If anyone wants to try to make large-scale encounters with the fortress, it is requested that Swgrclan or Slic3man is contacted as to organize an event. ]]

Swgrclan 2682 Author Share Posted February 27, 2014 It appears that the collective forces of Oren, the Scions and other mortal enemies of the Black Scourge that had laid waist to the last froze claim made here had bided their time and made slow progress on whatever defensive they had planned to establish within the frigid territory; it could be easily assumed that those of the Scourge deemed it suitable to forge an outpost of the likes of Dunru as to try to reach out and attain land in which to command from -- for a time. Perhaps Lenfarthing had been doomed to be a contested territory for a time of unknown end.
A Spooky Witch 156 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Kahlan halted her movements on the bridge between Lenfarthing and Oren, and she stared at the newly erected building smack in the middle of the once prosperous farmlands. Her eyes darkened slightly and she took an involuntary step backwards, her breath hitching. "Too far are they coming south for the tastes of my nerves..." She mumbled, the hairs on the back of her neck raising at the sight. "I'll never get used to seeing so much black.." And with that she turned and continued towards Abresi, forcing her pace to quicken and leave as much space between herself and the newly taken area as quickly as her legs could carry her. Elindor 666 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Elindor is quite surprised at the haste with which such a formidable structure appeared. He feared that perhaps he had drifted aimlessly through time again and immediately begins worry about the length of days he has missed whilst meditating underground beneath the remains of Lenfarthing. [[ Seeing as I created the build with the intention of it being an event-hub and a little RP-fort for the Scourge for the following reason: The goal I had in mind when creating this structure was to try to emulate a sort of 2.0-Snowy Fields in Anthos and to give more of a real contact between the Scourge and the five races depending on how they choose to interact with eachother. I would rather not it be treated as a careless land-claim, even though it may seem so IC. Try to chill out and interact with it fairly - contact me whenever you want to approach it. The whole territory's been empty for like three weeks anyway; this should be expected when you neglect a whole field full of frost and blood crystal-spires which had been erected by the main antagonist of the server.]]
