A Guide to Pregnancy

Many people on the server are in the dark on how to be properly pregnant, seeing how there are no guidelines nor actual pregnancy roleplay. I thought it might be good for basic guidelines and explenation of pregnancy on LotC. I'll hand every race individually.

Human Pregnancy

Humans have a short life span, thus they pass on their accomplishment to their descendants. Human pregnancy is similliar to the one in real life. While in pregnancy , throughout your whole period you will feel more attached to people and more emotional, while being mentally unstable. As a Human in pregnancy, your mind will make attempts to keep you from stress as much as possible, and stress would literally harm you and your baby. Your appetite will definetly increase.

The same goes with Halflings.

Risks while being Pregnant for a Human:

When you are human and pregnant, you must protect your belly much. Due the dirty surroundings of your medieval cities, you might want to wash yourself more or else both you and the baby would get diseased. You will eat more, and you will be very easily overstressed and frightful. As a mother who actual cares for her baby, you will probably have the mentality to give up your life for your baby, as much as illogical that may sound.

Elf Pregnancy

Elves have the issue with their curse, meaning that its highly unlikely to get a baby. As a matter of fact, mothers who give birth to dead babies are more likely to die also. As an elf your baby will be extremely fragile towards everything, balanced food and a clean envirioment is the thing that keeps your baby from dying. However, small punches or any kind of unnatural force towards your stomach may also mean the passing of your unborn. With the elven mentality of striving towards perfection, stress is most likely to take over as you try to create a perfect envirioment for your baby, which afcourse most likely fails. Having companions and people who aid you through it is highly necessary to calm you and make you feel safe and comfortable while in pregnancy. Due the fact that babies are extremely fragile and most likely to die, it takes much longer for one to be born. Elven appetites won't change much, seeing how there goes less energy in making a more fragile baby.

As the elven mentality may differ on each variety of elven race, elves in general can easily overstress themselves in pregnancy, more than humans in any case. The Kharajyr have similliar cases, only their strive for perfection is less, while it is perfectly replaced by dominance.

Risks while being pregnant as an Elf.

Stress can mean the death of your unborn, or even yourself. It is everywhere and you are most likely to fail to create a perfect envirioment. Your baby is extremely fragile, a small punch in your stomach can lead to its death also. Rest and a safe & warm envirioment is the thing that keeps your baby alive.

Dwarf Pregnancy

The Dwarves are the most lucky when it comes to pregancy. In an optimal situation a baby will grow strong and has the most chance for survival. However, due their intense works at the mines and potential physical limitiations in several proffesions, Dwarves may overwork themselves and weaken the baby, risking potential death. The most chance for death is to the mother when the baby is born. Their height limits them from smoothly giving birth, and is slightly unbalanced in sizes. A bit more food and more rest will almost ensure a healthy birth of the newborn. But in general, pregnancy should be safe for every average dwarf female. Dwarf babies are the shortest ones to be born.

Risks while being pregnant as a Dwarf.

Spending too much energy in work, weakening the baby and increasing the chance of death. Baby too large at birth that causes the mother to die.

Orc Pregnacy

The orcs also have strong babies in an optimal situation, but their violent nature and amounts of trauma causes the baby quickly to die in the stomach of an Orcish female. The seed of an Orcish male is most likely corrupted, if not fully damaged by the intense stress that the Orcs are exposed to every day. Even though they are not overstressed themselves, their bodies are no longer meant to reproduce. Making it very hard for those babies to reach stages of birth. To get pregnant, a woman may not be close to any violence on stress, seeing as she is already being on the verge of bringing too much stress for the baby. The male must atleast have several days as a break from violence and trauma before having intercourse, so that the seed is healthy enough to do its thing. Appetite of an Orcish female increases heavily, if there is not enough food the Orc will be born weaker than the average Orc. But with the violence and stress aside, an Orcish baby may be even stronger than a Dwarven. An Orcish female is unlikely to die at birth.

Risks while being pregnant as an Orc,

Overstress and trauma for the baby, corrupted seed due to similliar cases. A female must eat enough for a strong baby to be born strong enough to survive in Orcish society. Further than those severe dangers an Orcish baby is most likely to be born healthy.

Very nice guide! It's a shame how elves have low fertility and their children in the womb are so vulnerable.

Offtopic: Is it just me or does the guy in the picture look like Putin?

I'm just curious as to how you were able to gather all of this information on your own, did you get it from experience?

Thanks for your support! And yes I think he is the medieval Putin.

Mostly just experience, lore, and logic. I noticed that I only knew one player who actually sat through a large period of time and played correctly pregnant, further I just used logic and things I saw related to pregnancy.

You should add. Pregnant women cannot run on roofs and beat people up. I have been beaten up by too many raging pregnant women!

The dwarf section is incorrect. As of posting, there has never been a pregnant dwarf. Ever.

They probably build more dwarves or something.

That is obvious.. to most people.

If you are being harassed by raging pregnant woman please call the " Women Restrained"  hotline, we feel sorry for the trauma.

I'm interested as to how any elf babies exist, at this rate!?

Ikr, but I guess people forget on purpose
