They probably build more dwarves or something.

I think that the main reason for no pregnant dwarves is the severe lack of female dwarves. Also, I might be mistaken but, don't female dwarves have beards?

From what I understand about the Elven curse, saying things like a minor bump to the child would kill them might be a bit... extreme.

 

The curse stated that Elves are much less fertile than normal races, "your halls will be empty." Lack of fertility =/= weak children, it just means that Elves have a much harder time conceiving a child than usual. At least, that's how I always interpreted it. Usually when a player gets pregnant, it's because someone wants to RP their child, so having it so vulnerable isn't very constructive.

You see, Elves themselves are supossed to be fragile. That dual bladed edgies kill a whole guardforce is a different stories. If elves are fragile, how fragile would their baby be? Also, if a Human can lose their baby because of a smack in the stomach, I'm pretty sure it will harm more to an elf.

I just used this as a guide. http://www.babycenter.com/pregnancy It explains pretty in depth how the fetus develops week by week and how the mother's body changes. RPing pregnancy was actually quite fun, since it's an excuse to do all sorts of eccentric things your character wouldn't normally do. Overall I think it's up to the player to decide how to RP while taking their racial lore into consideration.

People will always, always, always rp pregnancy how they want because it can be a touchy subject and honestly, it's only affecting one person and that person's rp. (Who they interact with slightly, but less so.) No guide is going to change that or make it more consistent between races. Much like people who make guides for how to roll for pregnancy or how to rp genetics, there is no one perfect way, and it tends to hurt no one so there's no need to change it.

 

Thanks for the ideas, though. Maybe some people will use them. : )
