--> the point

--> your head

If people powergame so often, especially with magic and armor and things that give them an unfair advantage, why can't others powergame to counteract a disadvantage (albeit unfairly)?

Don't appreciate the insult.

Just because someone powergames you does not give you an excuse to powergame. If that were the case, we coud do damn well whatever we wanted since someone did it before.

Okay, how about I speak up on this.

A 150 lbs woman carrying a baby mid term would have a chance at defending off an assailant. Adrenaline and natural instinct will work at this point.

HOWEVER

Late term (last 3 months) I dont want to see a woman fighting off a full grown man. Not only do you have a giant bulge preventing you from using your legs well, but your center of gravity is off.

So here is my thoughts. If you see a 7-9 month pregger woman, she should not be able to fight and win. She would try to fight but she would be horribly off balanced and only using her fists.

If you see a 4-6 month pregger woman, she has a chance at fighting back.

Anything less than 4 months is fair game. She has little added weight.

I am a female, I have seen friends and family go through pregnancy. Women are SCARY when pregnant. But no matter what, the woman is at a higher disadvantage the further along she is. The closer the baby is to due date, the closer you are for "flight" mode. Meaning you better waddle as fast as your overweight rear can get you away from a fight. Or better yet, dont leave the safety of your house for the days your char is pregnant.

Perfect for me; it outlined most everything except the nesting and the process of orcish birth since it is rather different... (More tribal and such)

Cjmate8 has never seen a Dwarven woman; as such, he continues to believe that all Dwarves are born in giant fermentation vats. And they have beards. Fully-grown beards.

........I'm 22, and I've seen 90% of my female friends go throught their pregancy.  And yes Sunshine and a few others did beat their husbands and boyfriends senseless.

Okay, Sha. You're telling me that mood swings, vomiting, and a huge belly (not to mention maternal instincts wanting to protect rather than fight ) means that pregnant women can fight better than men? Makes sense.

okay someone please lock this it's turned into an argument that has been going on for weeks and it triggers multiple of my phobias and makes me cringe and is otherwise an eyesore.

Erm... alright. That was probably an unreasonable request. I mean, please, still, but... Here's my take on the thing.

From months 1-5, I don't think there'd be a huge disadvantage to the mother in a fight. Maternal instinct and fight-or-flight would possibly confer an advantage, however, the assailant is also likely in an adrenaline rush so there's basically a level playing field.

At 6-7 months, the enlarged belly gives a mechanical disadvantage and the extra weight is probably enough to give a huge disadvantage to a pregnant woman in an open spar. She'd be able to beat her husband, sure, but in a battle against someone also pumped full of adrenaline, angry, and willing to kill, she is outmatched.

At 8-9 months the outcome is really obvious. A woman who is eight months pregnant onwards is at a huge disadvantage in a fight. She's got a giant belly obstructing the path of her legs and making it impossible for her to send a kick at an opponent standing up. The extra weight of the pregnancy will make fighting incredibly difficult if not impossible. If she's waddling in and out of rooms, she's not slaughtering bandits with swords.

I'd like to null the "maternal instinct" point with the fact that it's probably human sense not to get into a fight while pregnant. In a dire situation, maybe she might be more inclined to protect herself, but running will almost always be the more feasible option as it is less likely to harm the baby.

What on earth are you on about. Orcs do not sporulate..They aren't plants *shrug* They have rituals and violence is seen as romance before the act, they are mammals and do the way a human would..just with a bit..more violence that is.

Aren't plants? Why are they green, then?

  :accepted:

I'm kidding, of course. Though I can't say for sure because God forbid I ever see an orc mating.

You guys should read the "Where do babies come from" Dwarf edition of the book series. It explains in detail the growing of new dwarves from cut beards, and even explains the very rare occurences of Dwarven Females.
