Borsa Ragslav sends in a small petition

'Let Good priest of godanistan to get confessions and be a spiritual and moral guide for the court. However The lord chancellor is also an excellent Borsa, so take this petition lightly. If the Lord Chancellor would be to busy in the trial to do both, then consider me or another borsa.

-Father Ragslav'

Marcus de Stolistes mumbles in his grave with his sassy spectral voice

"Didn't my aunt order me to get him trialed and punished earlier?"

He shrugs, not caring about politics in his cozy little grave.

Edward Winter II, you are suspected of conspiracy against the crown. There were whispers of your plotting alongside the dwarves, elves, and the dark powerpoint to bring down the just Carrion Vochna. For the last 6 months, you could not be reached, and were not present when the armies of the infidels crashed against our walls. One can only come to the conclusion that you were in bed with the foe. What is your defense

Edward bows to the King reverently, then straightens nobly, speaking in a voice weary with the weight of the false accusations,

"Your majesty, it was not my intention to make you question my loyalty. In fact, I had taken a handful of men on what was to be a short expedition to ensure the security of the northern border of Anthosian Oren. We were waylaid by a series of severe snowstorms that forced us to make camp in the corrupted pine forest northeast of the abandoned town in the wastes. I had not given notice to my vassals of my absence, as it would have left my Archduchy without a leader, and vulnerable to plotting and overthrows. I did not expect to vacate my post as long as I did, but I could do nothing to remedy it until I returned."

The accused shakes his head,

"Apparently I should have had less trust in the loyalty of my vassals." Edward mourns the disloyal actions of his vassals during his absence, and the flagrantly fallacious falsities that were spread.

"I am no traitor, and I am no follower of the infidels who seek to disturb our great state. My loyalty, as it has been since I facilitated the rise of the Carrion Vochna, has rested with your line, the rightful sovereigns of Oren. I gravely apologize for the lack of communication, but I now have returned. If it would please your majesty, I request that these slanderous charges be recognized for what they are, and those punishments dealt to me in my defenseless absence be reversed."

OOC: Was on vacation to London with spotty wifi, only plots I was involved in while I was gone were at pubs. Probably should have let people know I was leaving, but I was weary of plots against me so I didn't want to let anyone know of my absence. Cheers from the homeland, Knox

King Heinrik nods slowly, having already heard of the journey from the other members of the expedition,"Very well then, your story matches what the crown has already gathered. In recognition of this, the titles and holdings of yourself and your house are lifted from suspension, and the Archduchy of Herendul is returned to your possession. The House Blackwell's oaths to House Winter will stand, but the Duchy of Valles's separation from the Herendul will remain recognized. The position of Lord Chancellor will also remain with Wilfriche Buron, on account of your neglect of the position during your absence over the last half a year."King Heinrik drives his mallet down upon the podium in front of him, sealing the decision as law.

The newly reinstated Archduke stands, and bows his head, "Thank you, your majesty, for ruling justly. Creator guard your reign." He then leaves the courtroom to help with the war effort in Vekaro.

Vectis shouts loudly,

"Jon Othaman is a power hungry half-wit but damn it if he can't muster an army. I guess he gets away with his treasonous ways this time!"

Jon sits in the stands wondering what he did to Vectis. Perhaps he would make a passive aggressive thought of how he should challenge the Iva'Fenn, Vekon levy, High Elves or whatever half assed army he is affiliated with. A thought comes to him as he understands why the Lucien's kicked his ass before.

Standing up after the trial, Jon approaches the Archduke. "I apologize Lord Winter, no intention did I have of betraying you for I wrote the letter thinking you were already on the enemy's side. I was advised by the lords and king to do so to prove my loyalty to the crown. I hope all went well on your expedition and that we might still be friends."

Vectis senses a disturbance in the force. Somebody is buttmad.

"Seems I am on the right track with my accusations."

Vectis lets out a sigh, his mind going to fonder thoughts. He begins to recall his glory days crushing and subjugating the incompetent Kingdom of Telelelelemar.
