Clam Down Pls

So I guess this has been pissing me off a lot lately, so instead of repeating an ideas thread, why not make a discussions thread?

The concept of "Banning" to me seems a little ridiculous. I thought it was something used in medieval times to rid heretics and outlaws and all that ****, but now, in terms of Minecraft, Banning is basically saying: "you can't play with us anymore". In my opinion this just seems childish, after all we are playing a game and we are here to have fun. I understand that there are times where people "need" to be banned in order for the preservation of the server, I think that is for something like a pugsy or cyberer, I have voiced my opinions about pugsy saying before, in fact I don't think there should be perma-bans, as I mentioned, it is childish in my opinion to remove someone from the face of a community because they broke rules, they killed a couple people on minecraft who respawned and walked back to where they died, end of. When you break it down, all these pugsiers just killed some people on minecraft, I think that isn't that bad at all. So when I see all these ban reports for bringing more people, returning to battle or breaking blocks, it just doesn't compute in my brain what these people are trying to do? You are attempting to remove someone from their game, perhaps from their friends for something as little as this? What are you trying to accomplish, evidently you feel they should be banned for breaking blocks, or returning to join the battle, all of this waste of time **** can be resolved with "I'm sorry", but people take it to the ban report.

I understand the rules are here to be followed, but come on now, we are all friends here.

((Turned into more of a rant than a discussion, but eh, it is 1 in the morning.))

Thank you for saying this.

Guys, it's a lot easier to just talk it out with the people involved instead of going immediately to a ban report. Even waiting a few hours is good. It eats up GM time and player time when we do this.

Ban reports should be rare.

I agree, Talking is better then just wanting to get someone banned. It kind of looks bad on your behalf if you start creating Ban-Reports of almost every flaw you see. People would see that, and not want to roleplay with you, mainly out of fear of getting a Ban Report..

People need to chillaxicate and leave their computer the moment this becomes more than a mere game.

This is why kipples is a great person

Nut seriously, sometimes the GMs just sit there and cwatch the person doing something bad, you have to notice there isn't many smart people on this server, so guess what auit ******* standing there and watch the person do something bad, instead once you see it you need to explain right away what they are doing wrong.

Why should people be here if they can't respect the server rules or the enjoyment of other players?

I've had enough of players metagaming, powergaming, griefing, trolling, returning to death and excessively returning to death. If they can't respect the server rules in place then they shouldn't be here.

Maybe we should stop looking at it as a bad thing. Maybe this is why people don't have any respect for server rules and the players. Because most of us are too self-righteous to work it out and ban report blatant and malicious offenders.

I get the idea of too many damn ban reports, there are TOO MANY

but what are you going on about pugsyers should not be perma banned? Bans are basically the only REAL power the staff has to stop mass killing, griefing, or anything else that ruins fun, don't take that power away

This is really hypocritical for someone who was caught cybering a few days ago but no one decided to report it. While rules should be enforced, breaking a rule should not immediately warrant a ban and often times there'd be less conflict and tension and more learning by simply talking to the person, explaining their folly, and moving on.

u should report it.
