The Fields of Glory

The hour was late as the forces of the Alliance marched towards the site of the battlefield, a thundering sound of boots crashing upon the earth. Their forces were armoured in heavy plates of iron and steel, wielding weapons imbued with the powerful knowledge of the runic arts. As the banners of Urguan, Krugmar, Alras and Malin were dug into the sands, a war horn sounded from the west, signalling the arrival of the Orenian forces. Taking their positions at the opposite end of the field, there they stood solemnly, blades at the ready for the inevitable clash of steel soon to come. For many, the agonising wait seemed unending and yet by all the gods, they prayed for victory.

The first wave of death came with a mighty cry of war, as both sides fired a volley of arrows down upon the enemy’s lines. Death was reigned from the sky, casting the sinful to their doom within the eternal void of Khorvad’s domain. Meanwhile, the front lines of both the Alliance and Oren quickly pushed forward, spearheaded by their respective commanders. Ordering the charge in unison, the opposing armies came crashing down upon one another in a struggle of death and glory. Blood was spattered across the scorched desert sands as the opposing armies wrestled for dominance over the other. From either side of the battlefield, small groups of combatants begun to make flanks around the side of their enemy. There, they cut down those who stood in their way, slicing and hacking into their foe without quarter. For a time, the final outcome of the battle remained yet unclear.

Slowly and steadily, more and more of the enemy were felled. It was in that moment that the Alliance made a sudden breakthrough. Slaying the Lord Chancellor of Oren, Wilfriche Buron, the Orenian command structure was left hindered. With a great roar of battle, the allied forces made their final charge into the enemy ranks, shattering the lives of any and all who stood before them. The last of humanity’s forces were drawn into retreat, fleeing back towards the face of the mountainside. Yet there was no escape as they fell into an inevitable trap. The Alliance pushed forward without mercy, cutting down the survivors as they had looked to flee. In one final swoop, the last Orenian defence had been crushed. A rich stench of blood filled the air as the corpses of the dead lay strewn across the battlefield. The torn banners of Urguan, Krugmar, Alras and Malin stood upright and true. Thus it was amongst all the chaos and death, that one thing was clear. The Alliance had emerged victorious.

((You forgot the part where everyone lagged out and logged in at Vekaro))

The Orenian forces, broken and routed, lay shocked and in awe. The streets of Vekaro littered grief and death, one could not comprehend the power of the Zions, the floating arrows, the teleportation, it was just too much heretical skygod powers for one to handle.

Taylor sits in the Decterum keep as he thinks back to the battle, he mutters to himself "Our forces did not retreat. The skygods teleported them to Vekaro, that is what won them the battle"

((Please don't say we retreated when infact we were tp'ed away.))

((I was referring to the many humans who still remained on the battlefield after they logged back in. Believe me, I understand that these kind of problem in battles are irritating, particularly when caused by server errors. I've been on the receiving end many times before. However, we need to move on and keep this in character. One battle does not win a war.))

Daren sips some ale from his cup, trying to remember how many scums he slayed on the battle field. He shrugs for himself and continues cleaning his battle axe in the lake at Kal'Arkon.

(( I can smell the butt hurt, not a single battle has been fair for both sides (oren have had hackers for EXAMPLE). You were outnumbered anyway and lag, crash and rollback/tp happened on both sides.))

((If constant propaganda and victory ejaculation is flooding the forums then yes, we have the right to be a little mad considering the events of yesterday. Also, you won the battle, not the war.))

Taylor shakes his head in disgust, as he thinks to himself  "Dumb dwarves, the battle was in the desert not the green fields."

James charged forward staying in the Oren ranks, many of the men slayed by him were barely men called forward to fight and die as cannon fodder, while the real fighters of Urguan, Krug and Oren fought a bloody battle. Eventually back against the cliff Dwarfs pushing their escape on the right of him trapping in the OSL and remaining Orenian forces. The left flank failing as the Zionist forces push round taking out many of the Orenian men and leaving the final minutes of the Battle a brawl between a few Orenians unable to run and the Zionists. James forms into the shield wall with other defends, he quickly dispatches a boy charging forward hoping to bloody his sword on his first battle. Screeches of exhaustion cover the line as Orenian forces give in  and then James vision went right as an Arrow hit him in the temple. He awoke later in the cloud temple bandages a ointment on his wounds, he realizes where he is looking around "Dammit!"

Bardel sits back at the top of his 'Towa o' Powa' after seemingly disappearing from the battlefield and finding himself there. Luckily he can just about see the battle raging. See the outnumbered Humans as they are cut down by the charging little men and co. Bardel chuckles at the sight. "Suh pathetic. The empire of Oren? Not much of an Empire if they are being obliterated like this." Bardel goes back to his work. Trying to discover why some sort of magical barrier stopped him from drinking a Healing potion during the battle.

((There is no need for this OOC conflict guys. For one Oren didn't stand a chance. There was around 50 maybe 70 of us and around 30 - 40 of you. You were losing it before the major lag spikes and the TP. Stop getting so butt hurt. We won this battle, you lost. You haven't lost the war. Just the right to post the next Warclaim. Simply because you lost doesn't mean you were the only ones lagging a TP'ing away. We were too.))

Fydizh Gorkil roars in anger. For too long, have the forces of the Zionists and the Humans hid behind their keeps during the skirmishes. Too long had honour been gone from the battles of this war. But today, we were suppose to be honourable. Suppose to have an even battle, where retreat means loss. But no, for the Creator chose to interfere.

((Hmm... butt hurt you say? Well that was different when we won and you bitched to the GM's to make it so you won, OOCLY you won RPLY you lost, you only oocly won because you bitched to the moderators about us returning back behind our walls, this was the first battle im on about here. So please.... don't call us butt hurt when we're clearly angry due to the fact of a roleback, not butt hurt. If you were us and got rolled back you would be bitching to the staff already telling them to say you won or do a rematch, but we don't. We're just angry because it rolled back nearly all of our forces and about 10-15 of yours.))
