Edit: So after maybe like 3 responses as to what my prices should be (even though there were more who voted yes, they didn't list a price aha...) I figured I'd propose something else that could bring more to the entire population of LOTC. I proposed I could do IC commissions where you'd have to find me in-game and you can pay minas for artwork. I'll probably only be offering things such as the marble busts (once again, examples on my profile), headshot/bust and headshot portraits, or sketches.

Hey there! It's Keeem again. I know this is something I could have gotten from a status but a thread would get me more results. I was wondering, would you, the LotC community, be willing to commission me for artwork? Not for Minas as I really have no use for them, but for money. Let me know if you would or wouldn't. If you would, for how much? If not, why? Even something like 'lol im poor' would work. So let me hear it!

Examples can be found on my profile!

I most certainly think your art is worthy of commission. You have a unique style. Were I to have the money, the prices would be something like this;

10-15- Full character sketch no colors

15-25- Full character with colors

30+- Specific examples.

Under the 30+ category things like family portraits or specific environments would fall under. I've seen popular Deviant artists ask for 100+ for a singular drawing, but I believe in a homely environment like LOTC you should keep your prices under or around $30.

It really depends on each individual commission's amount of work put into it. If somebody wants a background as well, the price would obviously go up. On the flipside, just a sketch of a face uncolored would be much lower, or perhaps even (if it's low quality enough) free.

This all depends on what you want tho lol.

We would naturally not be able to support this in any way and any commissions made to him would be at your own risk. Although it sounds nice.

Aha, thanks guys!

And regarding what Tythus said, yeah. There's always a risk when dealing with money with online stranger folk. But I hope you can trust my integrity enough when I say I do commissions in a fair way in which everyone is guaranteed their part of the deal. C=

Later on if I decide to do commissions I'll make a full out post with as much information as possible to make it safer for you guys.

I won't lie, I've been half-tempted to ask you about how much you charge for art.

PS: No this is not a redux of the infamous Urara incident to those who remember.

While your artwork is really nice, I do not plan on spending money on character artwork anytime soon.

I'd pay, yes, but you have to remember the general population of LoTC isn't one that has a lot of money. I'd of course, be willing, considering I've seen your artwork and I trust you.

I like Void's idea, and Bickando's as well. Just remember your audience!

Aha, I'll be mean for a moment and say less demand is good for me. (Thanks for all the opinions so far, though!)

Maybe if no one is interested in IRL commissions, I can go ahead and get something worth while out of it and have my character be an artist who does sculpting and painting ICly (to which they'd have to find me in-game and can pay minas for artwork and they like >u>)

This is definitely a more realistic approach on the subject, but it is something that is ultimately up to you. I do think you should charge large amounts of minas and keep off the forums. By doing those two things you create a environment that is 'elite'. Not every average day joe should have his portrait painted, though men with influence who have the means to track you down and pay you should be able to acquire a painting.

Perhaps you could even do a blend of the two. Charge upwards (if not more) of ten thousand minas for a painting in game, or allow someone to commission one oocly for real money.

Im throwing down die to find how much you charge for art.

Baha, it depends on what I'm drawing!

I usually talk to the person commissioning art to find out what a workable price is for both of us.
