Hoping to find the newly crowned King Peter Chivay within the squalid keep, his lips curled with a scowl at the shame that Peter had to view due to the incompetence and devolution of man indicative in the shabby conditions of the town. He bent upon his left knee, draped the cap of his knee with his right forearm and bowed his head.

James is stood beside Farley and after all the greater Nobles have gone forth Farley gives him a nudge and he walks towards the throne. He tries not to look at the ground and look like the older man he isn't. He reaches the throne taking the knee and nervously he gives his oath.

The final prayer of the ceremony was over. As cheers and loud chanting filled the throne room, a small cluster of similarly dressed men shifted their gaze to the crowd. The excitement was palpable, thick in the air and riling to the blood nearly as the rush of battle. His Divinity the Emperor Peter Chivay was at last ascended to the throne. With the soft jingle of a medallion clinking against metal buttons, Marcel de Bretagne lifted his gaze from his polished leather boots to the crowd. He couldn’t help but smirk at the stark contrast between the cheering crowd of both higher and lower born citizens to the stern guard force stationed at strategic locations.

 

With relative peace soon returning to the room, already the nobility were lining up to swear fealty. Time for the important work to be done.
