Humans can be separated by culture, but subraces cannot be made based on culture. That is like calling Southern Americans racially different from Northern Americans.

 

I am still hanging onto the ck2 ideal. Subraces should be different at a genetic level.

Afaik there's pretty minor difference between the physical traits of human 'subraces' already.

But no, in seriousness, yes. Humans are probably the most diverse when it comes to cultures/sub-races because of how massive our player base is, and I do think this is in order. You are missing however, such as Easterners, Salvians, and a few other small groups. I'd personally class Northeners more or less as Hansetians (not Adunians, though. You're part all part Elf to you're not our responsibility so **** off <3) )

Every suggestion that players are bringing up are cultures. Easterners, Hansetians, and Salvians are all different ethnicities - not races.

In our own world, a Briton and a German are the same race, but a different culture and ethnicity. That is basically what Hansetians and Salvians are. The same race, but a different culture.

The Human race doesn't need sub-races. If it does, perhaps have it like the Elder Scrolls does.

Northerners = Nords

Southerners = Redguard

There's no reason to have more than two sub-races for the Humans. The current ones are fine, I perhaps needing some elaboration.

Nah, Southerners are going to be removed anyway from what i've heard, I like the idea though Cj, but that links in with what I said in terms of people "exploring" to find the lands of heartlanders and such, which then gives them that influence to act like a heartlander, obviously i'd need talk to a few people to edit the wiki for these "subraces" and such.

I've conferred with the Lore Team, and we're not aware of any plan to remove Southerners / Southerons from human subracehood.

Aye, I do agree in refining the human races to something like he said, perhaps the following:

 

Hansetian

Heartlanders (Or Orenwhatever)

But I do not agree with adding specific Oren cultures into their own, as it would be too clustured with each single House

 

Perhaps a third specifying another type of Human that is not related to Oren standards, or as said a genetic difference. I'm not sure exactly what.

Northerners and Southerners pretty much sums it up and all of these ethnic groups seem to fit pretty well within that. If you're having trouble distinguishing yourselves as an ethnic group, that's your problem, work on that.

I think they just want them renamed, since Northeners don't even live in the north anymore, they're South-Easterners in the Fringe, which is why calling them Hansetians is more fitting, in my own opinion. Could be confusing for new players.

What these players are posting is cultural identities, not racial. As you said, there should not be a sub-race for every house.

Nah, their should be subraces for key cultures though. Or at least, something along those lines,
