I can't see this as being that much of a debate, since so many people are for it nowadays and it's getting legalized in more places. But yeah, I guess I'll start.

 

Cannabis/hemp was outlawed originally because hemp was a huge competitor to all the paper company corporations, specifically the Hearst and DuPont corporations. Not because it's harmful. It's actually less harmful than alcohol, and not addictive like alcohol is. And legalization helps people have a clean, safe source for it without having to deal with drug dealers to get some.

 

If anyone has legitimate reasons for wanting a natural plant to be outlawed forever, I'd love to hear them.

I have never heard of people being addicted or dying from weed. Plus it helps with quite a bit

It can cause long-term memory damage, and can, like all inhaled substances, induce lung cancer. However. I believe that anybody should be allowed to take anything they want with proper foreknowledge, so I support it's legalization. Keep it away from me, and I have no qualm with people taking pot, meth, cocaine, heroin, or whatever else suits their fancy.

No this will only encourage the further degradation of our self-obsessed society,when every one is addicted to marijuana they will be lazy and our society will no longer be for the whole but for the individual, if marijuana is legalized China and/or Russia will become the next superpowers as our peoples are consumed by drug lust.

Yeah it's pretty addicting man, just gotta stay careful and clean. My brother almost died from a dirty pot needle, cleanliness is important.

If you need pot to make you feel good then you must have pretty low self opinion of yourself. And who cares if its legalized or not, as it'll be cool for the first decade then you'll have all the cigar/alcohol progams against abuse saying pot gives you a small **** or something.

How is it your or anyone's business what other people feel about themselves? I feel great about myself everyday, pot just helps anxiety and it's great after a stressful day at work. The exact same could be said for alcohol. And your 2nd point simply isn't true, since it's not as harmful as alcohol or tobacco.

No one in their right mind injects it.

 

It treats autism, seizures, and a HUGE HOST of other mental and physical problems.

 

It slows or stops the growth of some cancers.

 

Research if illegal, because you know, HURR WEED IS BAD CAUSE DARE TOLD ME SO.
