Now, literally everyone and their aunt is saying, 'undead return 4.0'

Is this true? Are we recycling an old antag? If so, are we recycling old protag(Ascended)?

Don't know, but... I for one, as someone who was never about for Aegis/Asulon, would actually enjoy seeing something like that return, if staff/ET can improve on and fix their mistakes/

Nothing has been "officially" told, and nothing will be "officially" told until 4.0. But it's a possibility. We'll have to wait and see.

I hope not. The joy people found in Aegis wasn't because it was the Undead they were fighting, player attitudes and the way things were done were way different. If we remake the Undead, it will literally just be the same people who did the Scourge, doing the exact same things, except the Scourge will be called "the Undead." What we need is to look back at the Undead, figure out what they did that made fighting them together so fun, and implement that into a new antag. The Undead is just a name.

Oh god.. please no protag. At all.

And no, it wouldn't ruin it. Placing a beast in the distance that can be viewed by all, doesn't reveal much beyond it's confirmed existence. What drives things forward are the interactions with the beast when you've arrived.

It would do no harm to community knowing what to expect. Even if it's just a brief overview of how they'll be handled and will act.

It strikes all dynamics from the server.

They didn't give motivation to the players, the players just couldn't take action on the antag without the protag having to be there for progress to genuinely be made. It's a bad move.

I believe it is confirmed that while the Ascended are back, they don't have a staff-endorsed protagonist role in 4.0.

If you guys are actually going to run a protag, it would probably help out to have a word with nation leaders to establish something with hands in every nation over a random group that just expects people to respect and follow it's orders.
