Ransom Note For The Hobbits

*A series of crumpled pieces of parchment are pinned throughout Ivybend. The handwriting is messy and imprecise. The notes read as follows:*

To our dearest friends, the Halflings,

Due to the disrespect we were shown and the generally rude attitude you displayed towards us we have been forced into taking action.  We have taken two of your own and shall be keeping them with us until the following actions are taken:

1. The leadership of your people must apologize for the mess they have made

2. 500 minas are payed to us to cover the living expenses of the two Halflings we currently have in our possession

If these actions are not taken the consequences will be severe.  Your friends will be killed and we will burn and pillage your lands.  It is unfortunate that you have backed us into such a position, but you have left us with no other options. Will and Amelia deeply miss you all. Seek us out when you are ready to talk.

-Free Folk

*Beneath the words a picture of the prisoners is posted.*

The Ranger, on his travels through Ivybend, a place he can always call home, happens upon the decrepit pieces of parchment with a dark scowl beneath his mask.

"They've made their choice..." He growls beneath his breath, fastening the bow over his back securely as he swipes one of the texts from its place and marches.

Elgon's eyes glance over the crumpled piece of paper as he runs his finger across the paper, stopping at each of the two armored men in the picture. He suddenly crumples the paper and throws it onto the ground, crushing it beneath his foot.

"Justice will be swift." is echoed beneath his breath, as he marches off, his hand resting on the pommel of his sword.

Saeldur idly wanders through Ivybend, his cheery eyes searching across the festive town as he hums nonchalantly. He comes to brief halt at the sight of the poster, his merry expression twisting into a frown. His long hands coil about his staff more tightly, his expression darkening significantly. He wanders off angrily, seeking friends of his own.

Han grunts walking through Ivybend as night falls upon the halflings. Looking around and seeing nobody, Han ties up something from a tree branch with a piece of parchment pinned into it's soft texture. It could not be made out until the following morning, which by then, the blood had dripped from Amelia's petite severed hand and created a small pool of crimson blood. The parchment reads,

"Dear citizens and justices of Ivybend,

It pains us that things have escalated this far, but we feel your lack of cooperation has forced us into a corner, or for comical relief, a cave. It is a jest to think you will deliver the men and women of the free-folk justice when only that of our Gods can do so. You've undoubtedly seen the hand that this note is pinned to, and it unfortunately belongs to the beautiful miss Amelia, a girl that misses her friends very much.

My morals are not to be questioned, as they are already set in stone. If any hostile action is taken upon where we take refuge, we will burn your people living and add their skulls to our collection - Do not test us. You have exactly 4 days to reply with the previous requested actions fulfilled, and to begin peaceful negotiation. If you fail to do so, more Amelia will follow.

Sincerely, Han 'The Bitchfit' Flay"

Therin takes up a parchment, gazing it up and down. He crushes the paper in his gauntlet, so that others would not have to witness the horror. The Itharel took the paper with him, and began to find more information about the men.

"Godspeed."

Katari spots a poster and growls, scribbling over as many as he can find, "If anyone needs to know the location of their base, send me a bird and I'll gladly show you." ((UsopptheSniper)).

Ivanus looks over towards Therin before grunting as he hears of the kidnapping, sending out a courier to gather the custodians to Xatah to discuss the return of these peaceful folk safely. "It is not our ideals to interfere with moral squabbles but to kidnap such innocent folk is unjust. And as Justice I shall punish them."

He swiftly takes his leave to write a note out to this Katari fellow for more information on the matter.

The eyes of Urilinu glow even more purple then normal when he reads this note. This poster made him very angry and, if needed, he will bring justice himself. He leaves a note next to the poster

"When help of any sort would be required send a bird to Urilinu, I would be most happy to bring justice to this 'free folk' !"

He then strides of fast and angry.

A black raven flies towards the sleepy vale of Ivybend, swooping low and giving a grim crow before flapping away silently once more. Upon closer inspection, a hastily written note lies where the black bird has landed.

    "Elder citizens of Ivybend,

Due to your failure to comply with our demands for ransom, and refusal to apologize for your brash actions that resulted in killing one of our men, we have had no other choice but to execute one of our prisoners, the woman.

Despite the fact that we did not want to have to kill one of our prisoners, we still found it necessary that you should know that there will be punishments for your brazen, flippant actions. By refusing to pay for your friends' release, by claiming that the benevolent monks would save them; we have made sure that the young woman will not be coming back.

Consider your next actions carefully, if you still wish to keep the life of your other prisoner. Otherwise, we will be forced into conflict with your people. The piked head of the young hobbit woman now adorns our lands; if you do not wish for the other lad to join her, choose wisely."

*A note is pinned to the bored*

"Just ignore them. We need to focus more on our community, not on invading rapist hillmen, especially not Flays. Work on the town, and don't pay much attention to this.
