  1. 1. Should RP default be re-implemented into the server for a month or two?

One could see how endless sprint-hopping in full iron and sword whacking could be unrealistic.

But often applied power-emoting is the act of asserting ones intended outcome onto another without dialogue or agreement whether it be by a response emote or private-messaging. Power-gaming though while potentially an issue in role-play where one attempts to assert power over another should effectively be nullified because the playing field has been levelled.

Running around sprinting in iron isn't against the rules, while powergaming is. That's not to valid of an argument Teli.

As for the systems? I like the majority system with pvp default as a back up due to the fact that it is quicker and may be better for specific circumstances. Why in gods name the majority system was taken out is beyond me, but yeah. I enjoy emoted combat much more than mechanical combat (Though I do like both) but the point is that mechanical is better when both parties disagree, due to the potential for a horrid encounter if only one side really does one to emote. It's really as simple as that.

This won't change anything haha, there have been a dozen of these threads. Still I'll vote.

I just think we need to start organizing war better (lay off on the raiding a bit ;) ) and throw in the old majority rule. As during battles of 3v1 or so, you are likely to lose anyway...so it works out to the majorities' advantage.

Still, we'll all see eh?

The only thing wrong with PvP at the moment is that raid rules/war rules are absolute shite. If wartime war rules were pre-determined by belligerents on both sides and overrided the regular raid/war rules there would be no right to complain from anyone.

Maybe, to prevent people from powergaming, if one side feels that the other is doing so, it would go to rolls? But could be ignored if the characters in the fight were something like a child against an adult.

Just stick with PvP default. The entire point of a default is a fallback when people can't agree OOC. How can people not see how having the No Agreement fallback be a system where one player has to OOCly accept defeat just doesn't work?

The combat default is not a universal combat system everyone must use. People can use either if they want to, or make up a new one. The default is what you use when L-OOC's gotten tense and agreement is not being met.

May I ask, you are arguing for or against mechanics combat?

It is a very valid argument actually, as what you have just presented is a contradiction within itself. Running around and sprint-hopping in iron is powergaming (Read: not power-emoting, therefore against the rules...?). But it is a Minecraft mechanic and we accept it, that isn't a problem.

The difference here is that everyone is power gaming equally in that sense, so nobody is left at an unfair disadvantage. Everything's fair and square? That means fewer complaints.

Why don't we compromise like we use to and a battle with 5-6+ people must be pvp but 1-5 people are RP default unless everyone agrees.

RP Default so so easy to stall and get all of your friends to help you 30 minutes into the fight.  I'm not feeling being back flipped away from by Mirtok ever avian.

What?

I agree! Definetly about the training! A skilled swords man that trains 24/7 would not even Be better then a 5 year old with a kitchen knife, talking pvp. That is why I think that they should change it! It really DONT like pvp default!

For what I just said, no one trains, they just gather and rum out to fight, how f*rcking lame is that?

Helpinghands2 always open for discussion!

Actually thats exactly how it is during rp fights...5 year olds competing against trained soldiers...that is one of the reasons why it's PvP default right now.

honestly text fighting is fun when its you and a friend and you have fun with it instead of powergaming to win, but that almost never happens. mechanics fighting is better because it doesnt take hours, stays in roleplay instead of constantly clarifying things in ooc, prevents metagaming and powergaming, and my favorite part: IT FORCES PEOPLE TO TRAIN AND PRACTICE

if you want to be good at fighting you actually have to practice now instead of text fighting where you could just magically become master swordsman

**** no. RP fights are sluggish as ****, literally take like 45 mins for a 1v1 fight to be resolved, RP fights are just seeing who can powergame the hardest. Plus I'm not down to get meta'd during a long ass RP fight. PVP fights take like ~1 minute to resolve, have sufficient enough RP, and you can't really powergame if you're using muh MC mechanics.

Five year olds shouldn't be able to fight against grown men either way unless the men were poisoned, drunk, /and/ had their eyes clawed out.

I find it ridiculous that some people decide to fight anyways when, logically, it would be impossible. Technically it would make more sense for them to instantly give up, especially in the server setting.

PvP default in that sense should make less sense as it evens the field between children and adults, but RP default allows powergaming idiots to screw up the experience for the whole server. If somebody wants to win so badly in rp, go somewhere that is less dependent on the maturity of its playerbase.

Frankly if people want to rp children, they should rp children..not children that become freaking Kratos when its time to throw down. (I'm looking at you Armored Children) RP should be dynamic and people should not be demanding PvP for every damn conflict, hell you don't even need to RP fight, just an RP conflict will do. Example: Orc wants to eat halfling, Halfling emotes running away as fast as he can, rolls to see how far he gets, orc follows, rolls, etc to go on with situations and etc. This would be fun. Not everything is about satisfying people's pride because they can only succeed in MC PvP.
