The Parliament Building, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

 

"War has been declared in Europe. Britian has declared war on Germany. Germany has invaded Belgium. Austria-Hungary has invaded Serbia. Russia has declared war on Austria-Hungary. And twenty other acts of aggression!"

 

The room burst open with yelling, everyone voicing their opinion at the same time to no avail. The Parliament was in an emergency meeting, to decide the next course of action.

 

"Enough!" shouted the speaker, banging his gravel down to quell the imperialists, nationalists, pacifists, and all the other 'ists alike the room

 

Robert Bolton, Prime Minister of Canada, stood up, speaking with an air of confidence that was natural to him. "We will help our British allies. We will help our Motherland."

 

This resulted in more shouting and more banging of the gravel.

 

Sam Hughes, the minister of Milita and Defense, stood up to speak. "We will set up a training camp. We will send and Expeditionary force to France to assist in the defense." He spoke for what seemed to be hours, complaining of the lack of preparation for an armed conflict. The standing army of Canada was just over 3,000 troops. He made plans for the armament of Canadian troops. The companies hired to fill the contracts were friends of Sam Hughes, and made a massive profit from it, giving some of the shittiest shovels, cardboard boots, and rifles to see the face of the earth.

Eric McGabe bawked at the man, hitting the arm of Dermot McKinnen, his life long friend. Irishmen back as far as they could tell, they had graduated not twenty days ago. He bought a paper off the greasy young boy, squinting deeply and using his finger trace the lines as he read.

Constantinople, Ottoman Empire

 

Word has reached the palace that war has been called upon their allies, and the three pashas has been discussing for hours before they had reached an agreement.

 

The Sultan holds a speech in the town square of Constantinople to brief his people on the current world news, the ottoman radio station broadcasts the speech to all major cities of the empire all the way from Ankara to Jerusalem.
"Our allies are at war, and the only course of action that is honorable in the eyes of Allah is that the sons of Islam rise up against the ones who dare fight the friends of the Ottoman empire. I, Sultan Mehmed, call upon jihad on Britain, Canada, Russia, Serbia and anyone else who might follow the idiocy of the before mentioned. Bring pride to your family, nation and most importantly your god, fellow turks Insha'allah."
After his speech, a military parade rolls through the roads of Constantinople to show off their empire's might to assure possible recruits that victory is theirs, spoils of war such as money, medals and bicycles(!) to sweeten the deal.

 

As recruitment offices all over Anatolia, in the middle eastern deserts one might find cavalry patrols urging bedouins to join the holy war, promises of weaponry seem quite lucrative in the ears of the nomads.

 

Meanwhile, the ottomans line up artillery along the Gallipoli strait to sink any unauthorized ships going in or out of the Black Sea, making a formidable blockade.
The Ottoman navy begins to patrol their coast and seemingly pick up hundreds, maybe thousands of troops. [50k troops embarked on the Black Sea fleet in preparation for any attack or counter attack]

"The acts of the German and Austrian people, as well as the Kaiser can no longer be pacifically or peacefully blocked or tolerated. German boots have stepped through our allies fields, as have Austrian and Turkish. France, Belgium and Russia face the threat of the hun, as do we, in this, the gravest hour. Let the following proclamation be sent forth to all our lands, at home and overseas, this Empire is at WAR."

Will O'Hara frowns, looking closely over a poster of Kitchner. "Enlist to serve in France.." He shrugs. "Never been abroad.. might as well; not like the Gerry are gunna' be a match for two Empires.."

 

He wanders into the recruitment office, and signs his name, then returning home to tell his family the news..

 

As do 15 million other young men.

 

In Egypt, Malta and other crown colonies, Generals slowly start to arrive, kick into action, and bolster thier defenses. A quick border forms between British Egypt and Turkish Arabia, but no sign of any offensive yet.

The Austrians thought they could get away with invading an ally of Russia? The mighty Russia? Fools, they would be crushed by the Red Wave of Russia. Czar Nickolas II and his generals discussed key strategies and how they would go about crushing the dirty Austrian pigs. Weapons like rifles start to be produced by the cheap labor of Kids and women. Training begins for most of the enlisted men. 

A message is sent to the Serbians, asking them to help Russia destroy the Austrian pigs.

Serbian Terrorists kill our people! The dogs must be crushed and trampled before our glorious nation!

Our German Allies have agreed to join us as brothers in this righteous cause, as have our Turkish friends of the Ottoman Empire.

As we speak I urge every man to take up arms in defense for our country. To wipe them off the face of this very soil we share with them.

Allies of Serbia such as Russia, and Britain support the dogs, so we assume they are the pups.

No matter they will be swept aside by Austro-Hungary's Might!

Troops begin to mobilize along the Serbian Border, invading the country numbering around 450,000 men.

1,000,000 men are sent along the border of Russia, expecting the oncoming red tide. with a reserve force of 350,000 men

Trenches began to be dug along said border, for a defensive campaign against Russia.

Recruitment begins in major cities such as Vienna and Prague in Austria and Budapest and Szeged in the Hungary.

In a act of greed, Russia, France, and Britain have declared war on us. Why? They are jealous of the immense power of Germany! In response to this, we shall demonstrate out military might upon them. Mobilization of the German army had started a month before, and the German offensive starts almost hours after war is declared. 

700,000 troops invade Belgium, Howizters reducing buildings to rubble. 

 

Meanwhile, 1,500,000 troops move to the Eastern front, setting up defenses.

 

Recruitment offices open up all over Germany.
