Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Mechanical Standard is a rule I wrote for lore. It essentially went that provided it mirrored the capabilities of the actual item you could RP said item as whatever you wanted within reason. The name has since been hijacked by those pesky GMs for the rule that things that are mechanically possible but not otherwise prohibited by the server rules. Everyone conveniently omits that last part to justify bullshit. The ruling from the powers that be is that using the boat as a glider isn't allowed. Therefore, the use of the boat as a glider isn't allowed. Then explain to me what this is and why other forms of legitimate MC mechanics are otherwise prohibited. Such as underground farms, while swimming up waterfalls is allowed. http://gyazo.com/7e06fb31f6c8b5840864020d075583e2
Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Are BUD sensors intended? 3x3 vault doors? Elevators? Mob grinders? Even though an elevator has not been attempted due to craftbook and a grinder would get shut down faster then you can say "oh", the only intentional things in Minecraft were building a little hut and smacking monsters with a sword. Neri 3590 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Flying machines are banned in lore and thus cannot be used as an explanation for a MC mechanic, so arguing about whether boat drop-ships are a mechanic or a glitch is a waste of time.

Boatgliders, explicitly against the rules. Soulstoning out of combat, explicitly against the rules. Blockjumping, explicitly against the rules. And if something is against the rules you aren't allowed to do it. Do you really not get that? This isn't some technicality up for debate, the moderation staff have looked at these things individually and decided to make them against the rules for the betterment of the wider server. Are BUD sensors intended? 3x3 vault doors? Elevators? Mob grinders? Even though an elevator has not been attempted due to craftbook and a grinder would get shut down faster then you can say "oh", the only intentional things in Minecraft were building a little hut and smacking monsters with a sword. Minecraft's designed to allow you to build things. I've little doubt Mojang would have patched out this exploit if they knew about it and it was simple. That's moot anyway though, staff have ruled this is a glitch and is against the rules. Your most recent method to PvP High Elves because you ain't man enough to take on Oren is gone. Deal with it.
Crayfishchris 751 Share Posted June 27, 2014 This thread has served its purpose. The same points have been repeated, over and over again. The staff shall look through and make their decision accordingly. I'm a bit disappointed that this turned to bashing of other players. We're all playing the same game, and we're all here to have fun. Act mature and be nice to people.
