Cause it would ruin the theme, with gunpowder there would be revolution and magic would fade away swords and melee too in the end..soon there would be people throwing bombs and before you know it we got sky scrapers and finally someone discovers space travel.  I prefer to not role-play in such a setting.

 

This is the worst case of slippery slope logic I've seen all year. What you are saying, is that if we got MUSKETS, shortly afterwards we would be getting space flight? That's like saying that letting someone discover Uranium will lead to us getting Nukes, within the week.

We lack gunpowder and anything even remotely like gunpowder. As far as lore is concerned, we abandoned the only area that had an actual supply of it, Asulon, and I vaguely remember someone saying FIreworks are works of magic instead of gunpowder.

I understand but we have cannons don't we? And we also have Crossbows. A gun would fit right in with little to no change. I am sure that this would be a big change but people would get use to it the same way they got use to crossbows and cannons.

I think we should just give guns a try instead of simply throwing down the idea, if people dislike them after a month or so then we can get rid of them the same way they got rid of cannons.
