Nature Whispers

In the mind of every Druid

In the heart of every Shaman

There comes a whisper.

As the days go on, it starts as nothing but an itch, a tingle at the back of their minds. Many dismiss it, and continue their work. The eldest of each Order, however, pause. Words mingle in the static, weaving a distorted tapestry through their minds' eye.

As the days go on, the whispers grow louder. The trees murmur the words to Druids as they pass. Shamans gaze into the fires, their Ancestors leaning down from the heavens to breathe enlightenment into their ears. Louder and louder the cacophony grows, until each hears the cry. Something is coming, something new, and the only clue, a riddle which seems to bend reality to make itself heard.

Beyond the shattered realm their descendants stumble

Fate not altered, time hath fumbled

After a time of Draakar's ire Cover the fringe, torrid winds and fire

Traverse the the maker's mark and seek

A truth that Ancestors beseech

Andartus, at this moment tending the great, marble shrine of Gorund in the Gorundyr camp, blinks. His eyes catch on his hand, its shakes and shivers, sudden jitters. A familiar tickle scratches at the back of his neck, a shudder spreading down his shoulder.

He blinks, and his eyes are blank, white glow bathing the statue before him in the darkness, the little visible hair beneath his hood illuminating the camp with a sudden, fierce glow.

"...Gorund, ve thank hyu."

The messages reach Thurak as no more than passing wisps in his ear, and he neither hears them nor heeds them in the infancy of his training. Nevertheless, a disconcerted frown constantly passes across the Uruk's face, and he finds himself wondering if the twisting in his gut and the sense of doom that pervades him is more than a bad case of the grumbles from a stinky halfling he ate not a few days ago.

The Bat Druid opened his eyes, glancing about wherever he was. The location was not important, no, but the message he had heard. He glanced about, picking a weapon up from the ground, sighing as he sheathed the steel weapon. Oropher began to make his way towards the Grove.

"I swear to the gods, if this is another eldritch abomination..."

Toby rests in his room in Atgaard, meditating in the presence of the void, connected and powering his bond. Despite not being a Druid, Cleric, or Shaman, the thoughts echo in his head; But they are not placed there by an outside force. They are placed there by himself. Having heard the very same words from a force in a Dwarven Ruin, the place the Arcane Vigils now called home. He tries and contemplate the meaning, before a slow realization comes over him. He slowly breaks the meditation, and rises up before leaving rapidly.

((Legitimately got the same message IG through a different source. Hope you don't mind.))

As Malog offers some rotten flesh at the shrine of Orgon, the whispers crawl into his mind. He looks up from the sacred mound as he listens to the words in his head, "Zowndz lyke dat note. Der wuz da note, dat Guldun Lanze guin un abowt zum kult, da vizhun ad da feztibul agh noaw diz wizpurin en mi hed." He lays the rancid meat down at the shrine, and mutters a chant, "Orgon, marr kjani." He reverently picks the flesh back up, and drops it into the cesspit at the base of the shrine. He scratches his chin thoughtfully as he watches the meat sink into the thick, greyish-green sludge, "Der am zumtin nub'hozh komin. Mi zhud blah tu da udur zhamunz." After finishing his offering, he goes to find his colleagues.

((Translation of Malog's dialogue for read-abilty: As Malog offers some rotten flesh at the shrine of Orgon, the whispers crawl into his mind. He looks up from the sacred mound as he listens to the words in his head, "Sounds like that note. There was the note, that Golden Lance going on about some cult, the vision at the festival and now this whispering in my head." He lays the rancid meat down at the shrine, and mutters a chant, "Orgon, marr kjani." He reverently picks the flesh back up, and drops it into the cesspit at the base of the shrine. He scratches his chin thoughtfully as he watches the meat sink into the thick, greyish-green sludge, "There is something evil coming. I should talk to the other shamans." After finishing his offering, he goes to find his colleagues.))

Callax's right eyebrow twitches and his gaze suddenly adverts from the pages of the book he had just reached the climax of. His forehead wrinkles and he releases one hand's grip from the book, balling it into a fist and shaking it in the air. In his usual hoarse, frail voice he spits and wheezes, "Pesky thingummywots, they ge' everywhere! 'N they can't rhyme worth a dern..."

He shakes his head in disappointment and returns himself to his book, flipping to the beginning of the chapter so that he may work back into the climax.
