LaCabra (Soda) 1519 Share Posted July 15, 2014 As I have been breeding the past few days, I feel I've got enough experience to post my feedback on the matter! 1. Training Sticks - They are mentioned the game's description of breeders, which makes them seem like a vital tool to the profession. However, unless I am mistaken, they aren't even implemented yet. Please get them in soon, or give a better explanation of their purpose. 2. Wait Times - Now, I have spent two days breeding. The thing that has pissed me off most is "This animal cannot be bred yet!" It can last for hours, it lasted for 2-3 hours in my case and I am a fair breeder. Now, this wouldn't be so bad if there was a countdown to it at least... Can you implement that in any way? A tool to tell you when an animal can breed again? Maybe a special item can drop the wait time, like an odd food? 3. Golden Foods - Horses are not breedable because the items necessary to do so are not craftable. Please, give us a way to make golden carrots and golden apples. If I think of anything more I'll update this post!

Not only is it incredibly hard to find certain animals, but the inhibitor of breeding cooldowns and space constraints make gaining any progress ridiculously slow. On top of that, if you don't have experience in farming you're extremely reliant on the people around you to even start working. Please, just remove some of the time constraints and space punishment. It would do worlds for making the whole profession tolerable.
Munch 176 Share Posted July 15, 2014 Dante is 100% correct. Possibly the greatest ideas in the world EVER have come from Dante. +1
EmbryoGod 823 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Well, let's get started. Crafting times: I know this has been said and sounds pretty old but as a Blacksmith this is a perfect example. I will sit down and go to make an iron pickaxe, not crafting anything else at the time, at it will say 13 minutes required to craft. I am a Fair Blacksmith. I hover over it just before I craft it, and it says it will take 14 minutes. How on earth can that be justified? Also hinges take 10 seconds to make, but an iron door takes 30 seconds. It shouldn't take 1/3 the time to make a large metal door to make flimsy and small hinges. Also, I don't like the idea that if I start leveling up one skill that I end up losing in another. As one of the only people in my group who can fully handle the crafting plugin, I do most of the crafting. It becomes a pain to constantly have to turn XP gain on and off because I end up leveling my Woodworking skill when I craft stairs and such.
Andartus Orvar 20 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Right, so. Me and the rest of the Orvars have our own town. I built it, we've got different buildings for different craft professions, and each different Orvar has a different profession. And we all have wood-cutter far higher than any other skill. Our fisherman pulls up a lot of fish, but some of these come from a separate plugin so cannot be cooked, instead having their weight in pounds rather than the countdown until they go bad. Our blacksmith hasn't been online, yet, so I can't tell you about smithing, but I hear it's quite the wait. I intended to play an alchemist, but because alchemy stands cannot be crafted, I can't even start to do what I wanted to do. Because the server resets every three hours, and every time the server resets, anything that is being crafted immediately is lost, longer wait-time items can just vanish after all the time sunk into their crafting. While harvesting lumber, and mining, and many other things, many different vines and flowers have dropped, which I hope to be used in alchemy, but so far, they're just filling up chests, which cost a worryingly large amount to make, and can be burgled easily because we still don't have Nexus plots implemented. One thing in particular that I think should be changed, making them even easier than in the normal game, is the crafting of signs. because signs are so inherently necessary in every part of roleplay on the server, I think they should be very nearly free, or at least make large numbers in very little to (preferably) no time at all. So, while I starve to death because our farmer hasn't logged in in a while, and if we touch the crops he's been growing they vanish into puffs of slowly, slowly, slowly growing smoke, I leave on this last note: 3.75 is a Beta map for 4.0, and so far, the Beta has me itching to play the full game, but right now, it's just not finished yet. I can't wait to see the improvements you make, and I really look forward to seeing this new plugin system working!
Anderssn 1115 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Right. First of all I believe the professions are a bit unbalanced. Like the fisherman Jistuma wrote about in the crafting feedback. I think there should be less restrictions and in my opinion some of the professions should be together onw instead of two. Like lumberjack and woodworker, miner and mason, farmer and breeder, blacksmith and enchanter. And maybe the player instead could choose after the basic tiers which one to focus more on? Like a farmer does both breeding and farming but does and likes breeding far more. And the blacksmith could focus more on either smithing or enchanting. Change leather worker to hunter and let him know both but focus on either the meat or the leather? Also, why would I get worse on cooking if I catch a fish? Please do remoce the - coming to other professions when training on something. If I do something like blacksmithing, I'm sure it would build on my muscles which would make me stronger at stuff that require muscles like mining, right? Samsan99 274 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Adding a way ( if there isnt already) Of a player to see the exp as they gain it. So you catch a fish on screen it pops up how much exp that has just given you. So if you by mistake have exp gain off but this on you can tell your not gaining any exp and it would just be nice to see how much exp your making with out having to /sk list between items/mined/catches

Samsan99 274 Share Posted July 22, 2014 In the next patch, the EXP bar will function as your progress to the next level for the skill you gained EXP in last. Didnt it do the same back in vaqs? I just think it would be nice to see the exp on screen because when your working for a skill and need 150k to level the exp bar isnt going to move much from doing any thing. Also an easier way to toggle exp on and off if there isn't one and that the plugin actually tell you if you turn it on/off not just "exp toggled"
Priceflash 832 Share Posted July 22, 2014 I got on for the effect of an hour, and I'm going to be honest: These are the worst plugins that have been put in place since Vaq's skills. PVP Racial Buffs are coming(or are here?) apparently, too. Large population at the moment or not, I am severely disappointed(personally). None of this stuff generates roleplay. 16 Minutes to craft a pick. 6 to make a door, and it needs iron. What does this give us, exactly? Realism or not, minecrafts standard Crafting is fine. I saw someone sit around for 40 minutes, punching the air once in a while, so they could craft. What the actual ****? It is a grindy and annoying system, and should be removed before 4.0. It's Nexus PVP all over again. All I can offer as 'my view', is that these plugins should be EXTREMELY LESSENED in effect on building or RP, or removed entirely. It's meant so you can do roleplay while it's crafting- but nobody does what they're supposed to, it's not really grindy.
Nefarious Aus Shitpost 891 Share Posted July 23, 2014 I love the idea of professions, but the implementation and the way you have had it done is sloppy to say the least; it was agreed that professions were supposed to make the game better, not restrictive, but with the rotting food, it is becoming one hell of a grindfest. If anyone can remember Vaquxine's skill system before it went bad in mid-late Asulon (with the restrictions, crafting changes and fail chances), that is the system I'd like to see brought back, non-intrusive; all the basics can be done by anyone with the advanced things requiring a specialization. 3andD 1722 Share Posted July 24, 2014 I haven't used the plugin or logged in since it was added but I'm going to drop my advice because I know you will listen to it <3. Don't listen to what people are saying here. The wait time for items is a good idea, not for everything- but for weapons & armor. They should be harder to make (keep it like it is now), so that it gives actually context to wars and outfitting troops. The harder it is to make armor= less armor, it would become x10 more valuable and not everyone who logs in has 5 personal sets. Make sure it's a time->reward system, don't waste people's times but make sure it's worth it for them to put in that time
Jachnun 566 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Honestly it just sounds great in theory but it really just over-complicates things and seems very broken. I would be very sad to return home after a war in gaza and see this plugin still being used.
Grabthar 185 Share Posted July 26, 2014 I have enjoyed the plugin so far. I prefer the choosing 2 professions and being inept in the rest, so good job there. Before the downtime workstations changed though to where you could only use 1 at a time.. I hope it is a bug that gets fixed sine that will greatly slow progression and make leveling a huge burden. Otherwise Grabthar like.
Garblesnow 0 Share Posted July 26, 2014 I really like the plugin, but the one thing that really bugs me is the fact that the skills you don't practise go lower than 0. Like, I get the skill decay, that if you don't practise that skill your ability decays, but if it lowers to infinity, that kind of sucks. It gives you no chance to learn another skill. Also maybe slowing down the decay a bit would be a good idea. Just my little humble opinion. Great work otherwise. Keep it up! Cheers!
