That's it... the countdown's over. I'm not too sure how to go through with the rest of this message to you guys, but bear with me, alright? It's weird putting words to the page, even if it's been a plan for a month now.

Twenty-seven days ago, I began a countdown. It started with my member title, then I began to exit skype chats with it, make status updates every day at midnight EST with the number lowering by one. A countdown to August 1st, the day that I would leave.

Why'd I do that? Well, first off, if I've learned anything while I'm here, if you're going to do anything, you do it with as big of a bang as freaking possible. And causing a good amount of havoc is just fine too. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy watching the chaos ensue the last few days as a few people puzzled it out. Some discovered the countdown early on, some got overexcited, and I do think a good portion of you believed it was for 4.0 (I do like the optimism, though).

I didn't tell anyone because, frankly, I wanted the last days here to be full of fun, not goodbyes.

The reason I'm leaving is not because of Thales, or the Fringe, or 4.0, or any of you guys. Quite the contrary. I want to stay here and help as a Team Leader, and help you guys to make this server even better than it currently is. But I can't, obviously. I go on vacation in a few days, and immediately, once I get back it's soccer preseason, drama, and schooling (at my school, in the IB program, junior year is referred to as the killer year). I don't want my grades or school life to be affected by this server in any way shape or form. I can't do three hours of schoolwork while also moderating. I'd let all of you down and essentially become an inactive and poor GM.

Now, I'm not gone completely. If you ever want to RP, send me a message on skype, I'm serious. I'll hop on and have fun for a little (look at me, grasping at straws to stay). I can honestly say this was very fun, and I enjoyed the year and a bit here.

I left a few messages for a few groups of people (private messages will be private). Read yours (or other folk's if you're a dingus).

Thank you so much for letting me become a GM, then a Team Leader here. Most folks on the server don't really understand what you guys give up to make this place great, but I do.

@Shift - You're incredibly awesome, and I'm sorry for constantly pestering you with Media questions... and in general.

@Rittsy - Keep wooin' those female GMs ;^)

@Urasept - Thanks for pulling me aside when I made my first blunder. I probably would have quit otherwise.

@Tythus + Viper - Didn't know you guys as well, but I know you do a lot of work for here. Have a good day!

GMs

I'll spare my words of advice for the GM chat as I get kicked away!

Nonetheless, you're a kind group of folks. Thank you for tolerating me, and I wish you the best of luck, whether you're new or old.

Also, we need new GMs. Even with the addition of five Trials, we'll be losing Treshure, Sky, and myself. So you've only added two.

MT

Whoops. You guys go through leaders like I go through socks (not really). I hope I was a good leader in the 14-some days I was with you guys. I left you a framework for future media projects, use it. The Voice Actor thread is there for you, and we'll need a screenshot thread to steal things from the players.... er, I mean, accept donations.

@Beast - Sorry bud, you'll need a new voice actor for the Lore Videos. There's a whole bunch on that thread who will server you well.

Don't be lazy.

High Elves

Never have I met a kinder group of people online. You're all accepting (barring the racist exteriors) and willing to be kind to new people. It's funny how we've become the Elven nation now, isn't it? I remember when the city of Lin'everal was still there, and we were all worried the High Elves were gonna die.

You guys also helped a child character of mine grow up. Honestly, it's a really satisfying feeling (albeit slightly creepy).

Thank you so much for everything.
-Fishy

Valiants

Most of you aren't here anymore. If it wasn't for this group, I'd have left on the second day of playing here. Thanks for press-ganging me, masky!

Sky, Ski, and Ouity

I'm sorry I lied to you. There was a point where the countdown was just a joke, but I had to harden my resolve. Please accept my apology for lying to you.

@Everyone

Well, I've already told you, it's time for me to go,

And while a poem is cheesy (yes, yes I know),

It gets my point across quite swell,

To say goodbye, and wish you all well

So as a Valiant, a traitor, a father, and guard,

A nervous, laughable, orange-haired bard,

A mother, an anti-mage, a tiny little girl,

And a zealotic being that makes your hairs curl,

As a wearer of yellow and a worker of wood,

A lonely little boy hiding under his hood,

A nameless Kha, a god of sheep,

(Who, with his wool can put anyone to sleep)

Finally, as our very own Lord Glug the naysayer,

A GM,

A team lead,

And most of all, a player.

I bid you all farewell and offer a last piece of parting wisdom,

(Though you probably stopped listening ten lines ago (and then some)),

We're here to write stories, have fun, and build lands,

Whether as nations or in tiny little bands.

You can't do this without the good old golden rule,

Because sometimes it feels like we're all in a hatred filled pool,

So you respect everyone, treat them well, don't grumble or pout,

And for the very last time, be nice to people.

Crayfishchris out.

The amount of rekt that was just dished out is real.

Now comes the wave of more anger as to where 4.0 is and the subsequent leaving threads because of it. I can just feel it in my bum.

Anyways, it was nice to meet you Mr. Chris. Even though the time was short, you seemed like a very cool person to hang out with and talk to. I hope all of your diddly-dos go well for you and your future endeavors. Also, bring me back a souvenir. I like candy, pets, or a combination of both depending on the country you are going to. Have a good one.

notices does not get own spoiler

But in all seriousness I didn't know you for too long, Chris, although I did see you were a cool GM and overall nice friend. Good luck with school!

Goodbye, Crayfish.

I had a lot of fun with you earlier today.

Thank you, and have fun.

so basically you counted down to your own leaving?

Narcissism.

Anyhow, crayfishchris, you were perhaps one of the more helpful GMs throughout the Fringe. Sad to see you go, but I suppose it's for the best (RL takes priority). Thanks for the Skooma btw.

You were a damn good GM while you served, even though there were times where I didn't exactly agree with your decisions, I feel you did your job well. Have fun out there man. Be nice to people.
