The progress of deeping the biosphere flooring and clustering the farms into the housing biosphere are encountering troubles. There were few accidents in the mining, 5 Ceri was killed by the falling crust. Ceres thin crest would take the mining does not look like a lifetime, it was estimated that they could reach the water-ice crest for entire biospheres in [1-2 pages].

The overlord Oo-loki looks over his anicent brothers and sisters documents and files through simple holo-projector. It flickers and zips side to side at random times. He search the terraforming documents, paraterraforming, an explosion to result greenhouse gases and magnetic field generators. To terraform the entire planet surface would be too much a resource drain but to do it in the water-ice crest it might work. This plan could work but for now digging to the that layer, and get workers to start producing some magnetic field generators for the future at least [3 pages or more]

In communication center in the household biosphere hear fate communications from their limited radius of the solar system. Ceres is in asteroid belt so they would able to hear the transmissions all unknown and kept breaking up, but the transmission by the Protorians was clear.  The langauge remains unknown so alerted Oo-Loki and gave response to transmit a message.

Yamato Colonial Conglomerate

DBlTSxw.png

Mod Approved Population: 500

After much deliberation, the colonial government had passed an action to establish two more biospheres to extend the Yamato hold over Umbriel. These two outposts would be located directly south of the capital "city" of Tohoku. [Complete in 3 turns.]

Due to the everyday use of equipment, the colony soon found itself in dire need of improved instruments. A group of maintenance workers and engineers are tasked with coming up with such new equipment, a sizable amount of resources having been allocated to their project. One team begins research into improved mining equipment, while another works on a far more ambitious task; the creation of an enhanced space suit. This new space suit would contain life support, heating, and on the military variant durable armor. A note is made to the council for allocation of assets for development of agricultural hardware in the near future. Approval is pending until current projects are finished. [Complete in 4 pages.]

A look into the social structure of the YCC:

The Yamato Colonial Conglomerate's population is ethnically Japanese for the most part, however there is a minor fraction of the population that speak Canton, which would presumably make them of Chinese descent, however the colony has long since lost most of Terra's history to the past. The hierarchy of Yamato's people is as follows: Council members/ Colonial Minister, soldier, maintenance workers, and the rest. The military holds almost half of the colonial Diet's seats, and has held influence over the government for nearly all of the colonies existence. Consequentially, soldiers are held in high regard throughout the citizenry of Umbriel. Any sort of dissidence, especially from the sometimes mistreated miners, would be rooted out and crushed under steal toed boots.

With this sort of social structure in place, the colony had sustained itself for hundreds of years.

Repairs to the colonies only space fairing ship were complete. Plans were drafted for it to launch with a rather precious cargo, a satellite. Preparations are made for its launch.

Europa-1918

Population - 475 humans

underwater_research_facility_by_yatzenty

Deep under the glacial, radioactive surface of Europa, Facility Zero, embedded in a steep crevasse, illuminates the dark waters of Jupiter's smallest moon. Here lived a handful of humans, survivors of Doom's Day, prepared to build humanity up from scratch...

42:30 - Midday

Kommandant Hans Burgenstrop looked out of the bridges main bay window, staring out into the deep, expansive dark outside. Far across, he could see a giant geyser plume erupt forth, the impact of it surfacing cracking the ice high above. Since landing here, the main problem was not blood thirsty aliens, freezing to death or even starving, but those damn water plumes had been interfering with the radio tower for decades. Just this year he'd had to order repairs on that damn tower seven times! Eventually, when proposed with the ordeal that constant repairs are costly, he agreed to the idea that the radio tower (rather than being connected to the base through wireless and it being strapped on the ice) should be a reinforced, free standing monument from the seabed to the surface, wired to the base. This would cost more precious materials than a normal repair, but would also be cheaper in the long run. As he panned his view left, he could see the project underway, catching glimpses of sparks emitting from an outdated German drone from way back when earth was still intact. Hearing his door open, he calls the visitor into his suite.

"Kommandant! Basisstatusbericht, Anzahl zweihundert und siebenundvierzig. Die neueste Strecke von Krill ist in der Ladebucht, vorbereitet, um in die Küche geschickt werden. Dies ist die erfolgreichste Fang noch nicht, aber Bevölkerung der Kreatur in dieser Umgebung schwindet. Ich schlage vor, könnte Auszug Fischereifahrzeuge irgendwo anders?"

Stroking his mustache, Hans immediately replied.

Entlassen."

Actions:

Works on an improved, freestanding radio beacon underway.

Drilling commenced.

Krill population monitored.

Diplomatic Actions:

No radio messages have been received due to the damaged radio tower.

((Translation

"Commander! Base status report, number two-hundred and forty seven. The latest haul of Krill is in the loading bay, being prepared to be sent to the kitchens. This is the most successful catch yet, but population of the creature in this vicinity is dwindling. Might I suggest moving out fishing vessels someplace else?"

"Yes, order the ships to go out further in clockwise fashion, give some time for the species to rebuild it's population. Set up a long term rotor, too. Anything else?"

"Consider it done, commander. The two other builder drone repairs are done, however one isn't considered safe and is on it's way to the engineering centre. Also, drilling has been continued, with so far no hiccups. In other news, a murderer has been caught after killing a woman and child mere hours ago. He froze to death whilst trying to swim away in our prototype manned submarines. A worthy test subject. That is all, commander."

"Murder... That's preposterous! Have the man's body tossed in the Chamber. As for the victims, consolidate their family. Dismissed." ))

Nation name: Republic of Tres

Population: 450

Diplomatic actions:

-Continued communications with colony 204

-Prepared to expand the third tungsten quarry

-Reviewed ship for possible excursion into the orbit

The tungsten quarry had often been overlooked as the less useful of the five main mines, but with the discovery of other life, it became imperative to enlarge it and pour more effort into the extraction of the resource. An additional 25 miners are assigned to help those already focused on the quarry.

With the expected population surge, work is being done to enlarge the facilities that house workers. To promote families to have more babies, bonuses of time off work and bigger rations are given to the parents. An additional housing quarter is being drilled, adjoining the tungsten quarry to make the work more efficient.

The Eaperanza-1 frigate is reviewed by the experts in charge of it. A large amount of fuel is left over, since the vessel had not even made it past a quarter of its intended target. The scientists wait and observe, trying to calculate when a takeoff would be favorable.

Back in the center of Victoria, communications continue with Colony 204.

"We are a, uh, peaceful people. As for resources, we have almost all the ores and minerals you could use. Now, who is this?"

Vers Monarchial Governate of Ganymede

Year 300 of the Calendar of the Northern Storm, Dark Rotation

 the_unitarian_space_empire__13722.jpg

MOD APPROVED POPULATION:

400

Future-proof%20control%20rooms.jpg?mh=22

"Sir, the stores have been prepared for the dark rotation. Turning all biomatter spheres to save mode."

Albert nodded, sighing. Once every seven days Ganymede finished its rotation of Jupiter, which meant that half of every week was spent in the dark and they had to power the biomatter plants with the precious hydrogen reactors. It was never very bright either way, Vers City having been built in the area that would always half-face Jupiter. The archives said that it was so bright on Terra that their ancestors had to wear special glasses to protect themselves. Which reminded him.

"How are our projects coming along?"

The Vers Governate had only one ancient FAMAS and handguns that resemble today's M9, and its gunpowder stock was barely existent. Therefore, a hydrogen powered suit is put into blueprints, which would have a small oxygen recycler that could allow for the same amount of time outside of the biosphere as their current spacesuits, but would use pressure lines to regulate instead of pumped air. Form fitting, each would have to be customized for its wearer. Its blueprint is drawn up, but is not expected to outfit the military for at least another while ((5 pages)). In terms of offense, they had nothing either way. But they could at least try to defend themselves.

0718578ebd9055cc64415c366d3d8dd5.jpg

The electromagnetic ship was not far from completion, but a major malfunction in the electromagnet due to Ganymede's magnetosphere itself has pushed production back by ((3 pages, to a total of 4)). Hydrogen reactors have always been the lifeblood of Vers, used for all power and regulation, and range in size from portable to massive. Luckily, hydrogen was not hard to extract from Ganymede's plasmatized poles and crater regions, but one day Albert hoped it would not be so dependent on a single resource. Preparations for another outpost biosphere are made to increase collection rates. ((Three turns))

As the people of Vers look at the massive command tower's clock, the nighttime alarms sound and they begin to turn in. The command center's radio station then picks something up, but it is not the outpost biospheres.

"This is Red Lion, repeat, th-s i- --d L--n, co---- on Europa, ---eat, ------ on Europa, please ----ond."

Albert blinks, and his operators stare at the radio like it is completely alien. Each of them had learned a mixture of English and Swedish as was tradition, but this was completely unprecedented. The teachers had taught that they were humanity's last hope, its last spark. Their colony landed on the right moon at the right time, almost miraculous compared to malfunctions of other ships. Since the other ship they knew of had never made it to Ganymede, it was assumed they were the only humans left. Should he respond? He gives an order to open up the radio to communication.

"This is the Vers Governate of Ganymede. We hear you. I repeat, this is the Vers Governate, you've been heard. Over."

After sending the message back, an order goes out to quickly get the relays to full capacity.

In the middle of the night, Major Guiliano was shoved awake by his good friend Sergeant Winslow.

"Sir, the granaries were attacked, but Nocturnal Squad caught them..."

Major Guiliano stood up, and moved to the cold courtyard, wrapped in a trenchcoat, and waited for Nocturnal Squad.

The four soldiers arrived, dressed in black. They had the robber in tow.

Major Guiliano then spoke, "So, this is the thief?"

One of the Nocturnal men nodded.

"Have we found out where he took the stolen goods?'

One of the Nocturnal's spoke up, then. "He started sobbin' and tellin' us on the way back."

"Good. Go retrieve the stolen goods."

Major Guiliano nodded to Sergeant Winslow, who took the thief off, to put him in the small prison quarters.

Major Guiliano went up to the Command Tower to check on things in the middle of the night, and heard the transmissions from Titan.

He replies:

"This is Colony 204, a settlement made up of those who's ancestors were Americans. I am their leader, Governor Guiliano, Major of Whiskey Company, our local garrison. We are non-hostile, and are simply trying to get by."

He then sent out transmissions to the Republic of Tres, before going off to sleep.

"This is Colony 204, a settlement made up of those who's ancestors were Americans. I am their leader, Governor Guiliano, the man you've heard before is our Radio Operator, Miguel Vasquez. We are a strong energy and food producer, and we would like to set up an agreement on trade, for your resources."

As the morning came around, the constructions continued, though he sent out one final PA announcement, declaring:

"To those of you working on building our homes and solar panels. I need half of you to come with our engineer to work on another biosphere. I have big plans for it, and would greatly appreciate the help."

The farms continue to be expanded by the 5 permanent farmers, and construction on their farmhouse is finished.

Summary:

Diplomatic Action: Transmissions sent to Titan and the Republic of Tres.

-Construction of a new biosphere has begun [[for end of page 3]] [[industrial Materials Used up, housing construction unaffected.]]

-Construction of Solar Panels and Homes continue.

-Thief imprisoned.

The Vers find a pair of small, resource-rich veins just to the west of their settlement.

Upon close inspection, the Republic of Tres [and at that other colonies who might also do research] that their original colonial vessel is both too old and too small to sustain any sort of manned missions. However their boosters and scrap metal could be repurposed in order to launch satellites successfully.

-

MINOR EVENT [APPLIES TO ALL NATIONS/COLONIES/ETC.]

It is a peaceful time in the solar system. The first signs of a revitalized human existence begin to show as electrical lights dot the surfaces of several moons. Harvests go over well and as a result population numbers increase steadily.

+25 POP TO ALL CIVS! [This is kids reaching adulthood, usable for workforce]

MAJOR EVENT

Applies to all Civs.

----

The Starbound Corporation refused to acknowledge the possibility of sending a larger colonial population to the Moon out of fear that the German's superweapon would destroy it or cripple it to the point of extinction. Instead resources for the mission were allocated elsewhere and the second round of colonial ventures were able to take place.

But the Starbound Corporation was wrong.

A settlement, much older than Starbound Corp. itself, still sat on the moon and watched as Terra was ripped apart by disease and flood waters. This settlement had been named Jumpzero, the first colony in space. And it belonged to the German Kaiserreich. At the time it was a largely international venture but German troops on the base quickly seized and murdered all of those not willing to swear allegiance to the elected governor of Jumpzero, Hans Rommel.

For the past 300 years this colony has grown like most others, however an outbreak of a disease caused by a biological attack from the Japanese just before their destruction caused the population to suffer and dwindle to be just as small if not smaller than the average Starbound colony. Now the base sits firmly under the control of Hans VI (who may or may not actually be a descendent, they all just assumed the name) with a meager population of 170, mostly civilians.

One day soon EVERY COLONY may receive a message in German. It is an audio recording that is largely broken up in chunks.

"W- s-rvi-ed....... d- no- f--r......ar-.....we.....alo--......

Ligh-- o- Eart-....Lif-....Ele--ric-ty...W-...ar-...sur-iv-rs...

The United Monarchy of Britain.

4l0zrU9.png

Jack Thompson sat within the large observation deck that had been installed many years before his birth, it’s large open windows glaring down upon the housing district and recently completed biodome, however two from his original intent remained largely incomplete. Within the room sat a table surrounded by three chairs, Jack has scrapped his formal clothing and wore a black coat. He stirred a small cup of tea within it’s metallic cup, the spoon lightly tapping against it’s side as a ring is sent into the air. Tea had become a rarity within the station with the remaining supplies being from earth, stored in cryogenics for several 100 years to preserve it. Although they had the necessary supplies to grow the tea leaves once again, the space was reserved for more vital crops. Jack considered with the addition of new biodomes to order to growing of tea leaves, it was of course his most favoured pastime and he wished those below him could too enjoy the delicacy.

ikF9538.png

Soon his peaceful observation deck, minus the black armoured guard that permanently remained at the door, was interrupted by the sliding of doors. As they opened two men marched into the glass walled room, each wearing similar outfits of black with golden trims. One of these men was Lord Jones, head of communication aboard the ship he ensured both internal and external paths of communication remained efficient and concealed. The other was Lord Williams, this man stood out from the other with his pasty white skin and frail frame, one would not realise he was in fact in charge of security and military related situations.

“Your Majesty.” Lord Jones would dip his head as he speaks, Williams soon following a similar motion yet refusing to speak.

“Sit, gentlemen.” He motions towards the two spare seats. “Would you care for some tea?” He enquires, before observing the look of utmost surprise from the pair. Despite them both being Lord’s of the monarchy the opportunity to drink tea was sparse, even being offered was almost a praise of the highest degree. Without another word the king pours each of them a small cup, before allowing them to speak their terms.

Your Majesty, we’ve both come to discuss arising issues among the citadel.” The ‘Citadel’ was the name given to the place of living by the Lords, despite Jack’s hatred of the word he still allowed it’s use. Lord Jones continuing to speak “We’ve.. received signals for the first time in 68 years. your majesty.”

“Signals?” The king enquires, taking a break from his tea as his brow furrows.

“Yes.. They’re too weak to decypher, and we’re not exactly sure if they are from another civilisation or just stray radiation catching our towers..”

Jack sitting back within the seat, drums his fingers along the table's surface. “Can we do anything to.. understand them?”

Jones nods in response, tone becoming excited. “Yes.. Yes there is your majesty, well, at least we can hope.. If we fine tune our receiving channels and tweak the hardware slightly we may be able to get a better response from nearby planets.. or moons.”

“Then do that.. As soon as we receive perfect signal I wish for you to confront me personally, nobody other than yourself and a selected employee may know of these signals any further than we have discussed.” Jack then reverts his gaze to Williams, the frail man often spooked him. He always had an uneasy presence shrouding him, yet he was efficient and successful at his role, also one of his father's most trusted leaders. “And you, Lord Williams? What do you require?”

Finally the pasty man spoke, voice croaky and deep. “Your Majesty.” He bows his head once again, taking a sip of the tea. “The housing district is taking a turn for the worst, although morale remains moderately high from the recent speech.. Talks of.. numerous subjects are causing me unease. Security is on standby to remove anybody that causes high levels of disruption among society, yet I’m still concerned.”

Jack grunts, bringing his hand upwards to lightly rub the surface of his now closed eyes. “I feared something of the sorts would happen.. How many security staff do we have available?”

“Twenty, divided into four even shifts.” Williams speaks bluntly, scrapping formality despite being in the presence of the king. His confidence and lack of fear sent a shiver down Jack’s spine, he somewhat hated the man that sat in front of him.

“I wish for you too find 10 more willing recruits, train them and equip them well. That should bump our security to 30 and hopefully dispel any threat of rebellion. If one does begin causing.. heavily impacting issues then you shall bind them and bring them to me directly. I shall decide their fate.” Jack’s tone grows cold, the drumming of his fingers continuing to persist throughout his speech. “If that is all gentlemen, I’d like to be left to myself.”

The two quickly stand, departing without another word. Jack looks towards the two half empty cups of tea, a waste he thought. Standing he looked out towards the asteroid's surface littered with metallic structures that were necessary for their survival. His subjects continued to grow the population at an exceeding rate yet the housing refused to hold any more, he needed to take action before the threat of revolt became too much.

Round up + Diplomatic Actions!

- Vague signals have been picked up by the stations long range communication towers, although vague they’re trying to be more accurately received.

- After large amounts of resources are used, one biosphere has already been completed. This allows for food demand to be met, the other two in construction are lacking in supplies but upon completion should reinforce food needs.

- The cramped housing situation only went and caused more issues, the citizens are becoming irritated and the threat of revolt rises.. Should anyone cause issues, the king shall be the deciding factor for their fate.

- Diplomatic Actions: If those have strong enough transmission towers, the base built upon the asteroid Vesta may be able to pick up the signal. Please include with your transmission posts if this is so!

(I appear to have gained a habit of making rather large posts..)

Late into the night-shift of the settlement, a council consisting of heads of personnel, and several other prominent members of the Red Lion was put together. Once all had been gathered into suitable amphitheater, Chairman Binh walked onto the stage, announcing himself.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, today at precisely 1800 hours, our sensors picked up the following message." Binh said, waving his hand for the broadcast to play.

"This is the Vers G---nate of Ganymede. W- -ear ---. I re---t, th-- -- the Vers Gov-----te, you've be-- -eard. Over."

"This transmission indicates that our orbital communications relay has indeed achieved its geostationary orbit over the communication spire. This is a great success for our engineers as well as confirmation that we were not the only ones to start a successful colony among the moons of Jupiter." Binh declares, looking over the crowd.

"Come the morning, our night crews will have prepared the colony for festivities. Tomorrow shall be the first declared holiday of our people, no person shall be required to report into work for the festivities. At roughly 1400 hours tomorrow all citizens are to report to the first biosphere for the public announcement of this transmission." Binh says, with a smile.

"Inform your work crews of the holiday and when to assemble, then you are dismissed."

-Continued communications with colony 204

The state of the ship was deplorable. An effort to scrap as much from the aging vessel begins, and the brains of the colony begin to prepare a design for a newer space worthy machine.

The transmission with Colony 204 continues, all the important men of the Repulic gathered around the communications post.

"It is good to hear that others have survived. The Dual Leaders of Tres have convened a council, and most agree that trade would be beneficiary to both of us, but we lack space capable vessels. As for th-"

Alarms scream all across the room as the radar picks up the signal of the SANGER II.

"Cut the transmission! Someone send word to AA1, get the shells prepped in case that thing is hostile."

The message would stop there, leaving anyone who could listen wondering what the hell was going on.

Some members of the council are escorted away, as well as all non-essential personnel. After several minutes of chaos, word comes back that the first defense station was ready, while two others were being manned. An order to mobilize 40 men goes up, and they are directed to protect the entrances of the caverns. If an attack was going to happen, they would at least be somewhat prepared. A little while later, the message from the German's base is received, but barely intelligible. One phrase catches the Generals' attention though

"Heil Bismarck"

A memory runs across his mind of a passage he had read in one of the Vaults' books, and he finally understands what it all means. Hesitating before picking up the communicator , General Cortes looks around the room at the faces of the men. A response is sent in Spanish, German, and English across an unsecure channel:

"Heil, friends. We are the descendants of the Federation of Azatlan, friends and allies of the Fourth German Kaisserach; and we too are survivors..."

The whole room goes silent as a response is awaited.

Vikings

-

As multiple generations passed since the Vikings landed on Titan, a civilization had already started forming. The Ship the Vikings had arrived on was huge and most of the population lived there. A perimeter had already been set, and multiple biospheres dotted the dark, cold landscape. Meteors were the Vikings' main source of minerals, and after being collected, extracted, and refined, these minerals did the Vikings well in adding to their building supply list. Oxygen was collected from the Biospheres, and fueled into the ship. Plants were also harvested and fed the hungry population.

The Viking leader, and the great-great-grandson of Mr. Warden, Henry Jackson ordered that the Vikings use their communication radio to try and contact any other signs of life. A message is sent to anyone near Uranus, or one of its moons.

"This is Henry Jackson, leader of the VKGS expedition. I am trying to reach any intelligent life-forms out there. If you can understand me, please send a message similar to this one back. Thank you."

Henry also orders a larger communication tower built, hopefully one able to collect and transmit data from the ends of the solar system.

Mod Event

[Only RoT for now]

The SANGER II hails the colony once the old onship computer detects a tracking signal. The pilot looks down at the computer in some wonder at the signal for a moment before speaking frantically in German-

"DO NOT FIRE! I DO NOT MEAN HARM! DO NOT FIRE. COMING IN FOR LANDING"

The aging spacecraft begins to slow as the pilot flips down the thrusters and the engines rotate, allowing the craft to land gently on the surface about three miles west of the colony. The pilot radios to the Republic colony, again in German "I have supplies... send out scouts to meet..."

Should the Republic send out men to meet him, the pilot would appear to wear an ancient spacesuit, patched together with duct tape and a malfunctioning HUD. His cargo hold would also appear to be full.

Nation name: Republic of Tres

Population: 475

Diplomatic actions:

-Retrieved the SANGER pilot

Within minutes of the SANGER touching down, a team was dispatched to meet the pilot. It was made up of a translator, 4 armed guards, and a medical officer. The column of dust could be seen for several miles as the Mk1 Rover transport skipped across the dunes and hills of the North Pole. Finally, they arrived at the scene and the guards quickly got down, pointing their rifles at the foreigner as the medical officer examined the outside of his suit. He made some quick hand motions, and an emergency rebreather unit was brought to him. Finally, the translator spoke in broken German:

"Welcome, piloto. I apologize for the guards, they are a necessary precaution. Please come onboard the vehicle."

Even if he had tried to refuse, the guards would have heralded him onto the rover. A retractable ramp is dislodged from the back of the vehicle, and his jet is attached to the IFV. The transport then drives, making good speed towards Gloria. From the inside of the truck like transport, the pilot would be able to see a limited portion of the city and the tunnels that led to Victoria. He was given a rather luxurious room after going through a quarantine and disinfection chamber. After several minutes, the General, Consul, and the same translator as earlier entered the chamber, where a dinner table had been set. The German is invited to sit with the men, and they beging eating quietly. Eventually the silence is broken by the hard voice of the General, being translated by the linguistic expert.

"Why are you here?"

The public is given an announcement that the mobilization of the militia was due to a possible safety hazard, and many had seen the IFV speed along the winding streets. Rumors began to spread...

The pilot, August von Heeringen, sits at the table while continuing to eat. He glances up at the General for a few times nodding quietly to himself. He smiles and answers him in German, "Thank you for the meal. It is good." August continues to eat for a few tense minutes before truly answering his question.

"I am here partly out of my own curiosity and partly to make some new friends for the Kaiserreich. I'd assume that at some point you searched my ship and inspected my cargo. If you haven't already seen it then I'll tell you what is in there."

He pauses, looking around the room out at settlement.

"Wheat. Enough to feed one hundred people for about three weeks if you make it into bread. And something a little nicer. Beef. From cows."

A wide grin cracks across his face and he looks down at the meal he is currently snacking on with a slight frown. "You see back at our base we have a few of these. Top of the line Pre-War aircraft. These things were made to go from the moon and back. We are the last true sons of the Kaiserreich and survivors. We live on the Moon, or Luna, just above Earth. That's where that beef comes from."

While the translator informs the General of this news with some awe, August stands up and takes a walk around the room. He pokes at things, examines the lights, and then turns back to the General awaiting his response.
