Your View: War Claims And War Rules

Last I checked and heard in Alras TS when I got back from grave shift, some/many of the Alrasians pulled an all-nighter for their town pillar. Let us be frank, I do hope the Carrion can get their healthy 8 hour sleep.

Oh don't worry Gaius, Carrion got their 8 hour sleep.

But, that's not why I'm here. I'd like to point this out. This, to me at least, seems like a good set of principles to follow.

Thank Kebab!

Keep it black and white as possible because otherwise RP loopholes will be made and taken advantage of. Both nations or conglomerates must agree to the war first and it's terms, if either don't agree it doesn't happen. No war is /much/ better than a bad war.

This is what happens when someone not involved tries to make an accusatory statement. Ironically enough, I brought the Warclaim Team to reject the Teutonic Order's conduct against the Dwarves. Weird, I thought Mogroka would want one of his vassals to win!

I know you're not all knowing and such. But I'll have you know I have been involved in probally the most absurd case of warclaiming.

Interesting, especially the part where I am seeing no post from the former Warclaim Team. You've clarified that you have it out for our ol' Arab, but nothing proof-wise about the former warclaim team itself.

Absurd to you, but reading this thread shines a different light with people as random as JoakimVonAnka telling you to calm your pistols.

You fail to see both sides of the story. This is why a Warclaim team will never work, regardless of who you put in it.

Enough with my salt, I'll be leaving this thread not.

Then what you gave me is a red herring. We were at the point of discussing the feasibility of a warclaim team and you linked a warclaim that was not dealt with by the previous warclaim team.

Guys, stay on topic. This isn't about Alras or that situation, Further posts on it will be removed and if you continue past that I will issue warnings... This thread is about changing the war rules.

I was hoping that all 8 pages were ideas that the GM team could bat around and make a poll or something but it's mostly arguing. Kinda proof to me that a council won't work... you can't even stay on topic in a threat ABOUT war let alone deal with one rationally.

For me the coucil is out... thats not an idea I can support personally, but it can still be on the table for dicussion.

srsly, stay on topic PLOX.

Just get a few GMs to moderate warclaims. We don't need a team. Stop making teams that are going to do things GMs should be doing.

You've already said this, twice now. I understand your stance on this.

Except that in this case, which GMs really know anything about the wars that have occurred on this server and can actually make structured/solid decisions?

Just make warclaims cost minas, food, and such (relative to the size of an attacking army, to simulate resource requirement) to initiate. It means people have to attack stuff that is actually worth attacking and will recompensate the costs of their warclaim, as such gives the 'peaceful nations' (who wouldn't have a huge turnout to a battle or hold much valuables to pillage) a chance.

Cassus belli team seems superfluous to me, and warclaim denial is absolutely nonsensical (at least from an RP standpoint).

Then again, shouldn't need a warteam. If two parts agrees to a war then that's it, if not and the defender feels they do not want to lose their RP lands then..that should have a higher priority than someone who wants more land. I really see no reason for warclaims to be unable to be rejected. We are all here to have fun with friends and what not. Not to conquer other players lands. There's other places for that.
