Hey guys, due to the first war claim being posted and it being a mess.... clearly changes need to be made... we've know about it, we just haven't gotten to it...

So these are the current rules:

https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/110437-war-safe-zones-and-fighting-oh-my/

https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/105401-an-update-on-raids-and-skirmishes/

Please keep this topic on War and skirminishes and not raiding... I repeat This is not the thread for raiding.

What we are looking for is what you would like to see, not complaints.

What do you think would be the most fair for both sides?

What do you think would be the most fun for RP?

Stuff like that.

The GMs will have a meeting and come up with some ideas and we will go over whats in here. At that point we will post the ideas that we like and get feedback from you guys and a final choice will be made.

Thanks for your time!

Edit: I know there are a lot of ideas out there on google docs, if we could get a tl;dr on them I would apprciate it. :)  (I will read all of them fully but for other players... yea.)

Keep consent to warclaims unless the war claiming nation was provoked it. If you piss off a nation, you take it in the ass.

Forced warclaims have done nothing but cause drama back in Asulon and it was the very reason why the playerbase hated warclaims. It was not fun to get warclaimed by players and lose your land to some group who hates you OOCly and is attacking you with an OOC motive.

  • If you deny a war claim, you can not war claim or raid more than once every 2 weeks without that being acceptance of the initial war claim.

Well one rule clearly states that protected land cannot be taken.... but not what constitutes as protected land (unless I've missed something in my last look through) I would say at least fix that for sure

Alras has land and they are getting greedy and taking more land. If someone goes on the offensive in geopolitics, they should expect consequences.

I would not like to see warclaims that could wipe an rp hub. Like what happened to Salvus. Like Alras now in this case with the Strelts warclaiming it when no one have even settled properly yet.

What would count as provoking? If it's vauge people will start wars over insults.

Protected as in.... protected by a region.

Not what this thread is for.

But it is what is happening. That should be taken into account for warclaims. If an organization offends another organization they shouldn't be able to hide behind OOC barriers.

^ This.

Also, in the case where a faction has legitimate Casus Belli to invade a nation unprovoked, I suggest the deciding factor be an Admin's decision.

The establishment of a Warclaim team should be made, where level headed parties (1 or 2 people from each race/nation) come together to discuss the possibilities of war, and whether or not those wishing to go to war have a valid claim.

The casus belli system would be used as a base for the Warclaim team to make decisions.

(Casus Belli is reasons for going to war other than "for the lolz")

Not what this thread is for.

Villainous actions such as killing and such. Nations raiding, and just clearly causing trouble. A lot of things are vague and should be ultimately up to staff to decide.

  • Cannot deny a Warclaim if the Nation being Warclaimed has continously antagonized the opposition. Meaning, constant raids against the Nation can result in retaliation of an actual military conflict.
  • Undeniable Warclaims must have a time worked out by both the defender and attacker and must be sorted out within a 2 week time period or the time&date will be handed over to the creator of the Warclaim.

This is to avoid kids testing the patience of military leaders by constantly raiding settlements without having any consequences besides endless back-and-forth raiding. The other is to ensure that there is no way out of an undeniable warclaim through OOC means like never having the time to defend your own place.

We might be writing a story together, but bad **** happens all the time and everyone needs to be able to roll with the punches. If you bring things on yourself you shouldn't just hide, be a man (Because everyone on the internet is of male gender).
