Updated War Rules

Love the new rules. However, the map on the OP appears to be from an earlier dev build of Athera. For example, what is now the forest of Fiandria appears to be under a fairly urbanised island.

I believe that urbanized area is the Haelunor. You can see the druid grove hasn't been moved from the eastern coast yet either.

You may not refuse warclaims. But 3 GMs appointed by an admin will oversee and act as mediators to see if the warclaim should be accepted and to oversee the battle will go smoothly.(I'll explain the GM's role in a few)

This rule is horrible. You should ALWAYS be allowed to say no. Now there is nothing to stop the pvp-hungry ***hats from trying to attack smaller communities that just want PEACE! War = Suck.

Well, if those little 'peaceful' communties manage to piss off the 'oh so terrible pvp hungry asshats' they should expect a ass whoopin. :^)

When can all this wonderfulness be put into effect?

As of the creation of this thread, these rules are in effect.

Keep in mind guys that these rules are subject to change. If the goals we meant to achieve aren't met by these rules, they may be tweaked, especially when it comes to stuff like the cost which is admittedly somewhat arbitrary.

Wait is the price for besieging a guild 10 gold blocks and 2 stacks of food or is the cost of guilds besieging something 10 gold blocks and 2 stacks of food?

*Foresees the Knights Lorraine killing literally everything at very little cost.*

And tbh, the siege equipment cost is heavily unnecessary. There are few opportunities for siege weapons to be employed anyway (unless we've removed the restriction of being only allowed in warclaims), and they tend to spice up the battlefield with an extra variable other than minecraft PvP skill.

The rest of this is kinda neat though.

I really like this I think its a great idea but I feel like the siege prices are a little steep for smaller, new factions. Wouldn't it make sense for the amount of materials needed to go to war be based on the size of the faction and number of troops? It makes sense, a smaller faction isn't going to need as much resources to go to war as a larger faction would. Simply because it would have less men to tend to. Just a thought. :)

You bring up a point worth looking at, who decides nationhood legitimacy? Some folks in Oren don't see Hanseti as an actual nation, unless this is answered by the town pillars themselves.

America had to pick up the limp-dicked Brits but just remember that the Irgun got some pretty weapons from the Brits ;)

PS: Answer for thy sins against the Desis, blacks, and Arabs of the world!

Because the American establishment is saintly and would never dream of laying waste to another country for material gain on false pretenses...

What makes you think Blundermore has sinned against anyone? Because some dead people who shared a nationality with him a hundred years back colonised the Middle East? Holding him responsible is like holding all Germans responsible for Nazi war crimes, holding Muslims responsible for the mass-murdering psychos who twist their faith into a propaganda weapon, holding a South African responsible for apartheid or holding you responsible for the sins of the American establishment.

And you know what that's called? Racism.

Ask Blundermore to answer for "his" sins and I'll ask you to answer for all the school shootings that happened in America. Because the shooters were American and so are you.

I still think defenders should have to pay a food price for defending.

And if they don't have it they have to just stand back and be subjugated? The staff have it the right way around: the attacker invests in the war, the defender has their home at risk.
