Couldn't you all have freaked out before then about this? The more I get on the forums the more I see you all wanting to kill each other and argue. This isn't the server I applied to 11 months ago.

Alright...Old Aptrotta hear has been awakened by this nonsense... Log into skype today to see people raging about this new change... Y'all say you warned us months ago about this. Key word: Months. Do you really think our playerbase can remember something we were told months ago? The way this should have been handled was a two week notice. Two weeks ago we should have been told "We, the staff, will be testing a few things out that involve Reputation Points and Status Updates." Hell, even a one week notice would have been fine. You now have an enraged community on your hands demanding the return of these two. The question is... What are you going to do to fix this?

Back on topic, status updates really weren't that bad. You say this change will be in effect for a month? Why so long? It's clear most of the people dislike the change (the status update one, most peeps are meh about the reputation one, and I'm fine with rep being gone). Why not lower it?

But honestly, this should of been a community decision rather than a staff one.  I don't really log in any more but had to come dispute this decision lol.

"if u keep criticizing our poor decision we'll lock the topic!"

wasnt surprised to see this

That's not what she meant at all and you know it, I don't exactly agree with locking the topic [i'd rather people be warned or banned.] but there's a difference in criticizing something and just being inappropriate.

As for the topic, I reckon status's will return soon.

I guess no one seems to understand why this was a good change.

Sometimes it isn't that simple for staff to put a leash on every single player, because during times of forum drama, statuses were the easiest and most accessible tool to cause nothing but flame, and new players arriving at the worst of times to see the worst of our playerbase. In times of our occasoonal drama is where the LOTC community becomes difficult to control.

I remember during every single war, where no matter the outcome, there is always forum drama between the two rival nations, calling each other out with childish remarks, aka "stupid autistic dwarves should die of cancer." or "humans have stupid hackers and bias gms," and other flamey statuses that could go on for hours, giving new players a very negative impression of LOTC, and as a result we lose them. Statuses are the first thing they see when they get on the forums. There was even a status by a new player stating that he's not going to join after witnessing the uproar that he saw.

Oh, praise Alan Jesus, we got rid of reputation. Because I'm tired of seeing shitposts, harassment and rude remarks getting 10 upvotes because its being directed at the player they dislike. I'm tired of seeing ban reports and appeals with 50+ upvotes. If you agree with someone, get a pair and ******* say something.

Honestly. I think we should get rid of upvotes, because there will still be people posting just for that epeen stroke we call an upvote.

So, please... We ask you again...

Now that you see everyone's reactions... Do you think you can...

I don't think you understand why this is a **** idea.

It used to be so damn easy to figure something out if you needed help.  You post a status update and got an answer in a matter of minutes.  You needed a skin edited quickly?   Make a simple status update that doesn't cloud the recent posts.  Now if you want to the simplest question answered and don't have any GMs on skype or anything, and don't even give me the direct message them ****,  you have to make a topic.

We have the FMs for a reason, a shitty status directly attacking someone?  Delete it and warn them.  If you can't simply do that as an FM then there is no point to have FMs and just have the GMs moderating the forums as well.  Now when an extremely horrid idea like this comes around we have lots of toxic one liners.  I think this topic should be a scene of things to come should this not be reversed.

Yet who is the community to the staff, to quote them 'This isn't a democracy'

Then I will cause uproar for shiz.

Seriously, just lock the thread. There is no point in this discussion continuing, and making this change is only teaching the community that causing a forum uproar and shitstorm is the most effective method of getting their way.
